As the flashback of the past shows him with a dog, he was very fond of it and used to take care of it, but his mother told him not to. She told him to not care for things that are weak and to not feel these things and the next he found that dog killed by his mother. And after he grew up in that manner with his abusive mother, isolated from the world as she didn't let him go to school. I don't remember now if he did or didn't, but anyway, he was too emotionally damaged due to that. When he became an adult, his mother now was the weak one and he killed her in the same manner she had killed his dog. And that's how he started, till he met her and she was weak too, just like his other victims, but her kindness just moved his heart even though he didn't know how to deal with the emotions she was invoking within him as he had never felt them. It's not a love story, nor romantic, but the story of child abuse and how damaging it is, and it's a story of kindness that can change someone... The going in the past changed their story, she was saved and he was locked, and the way the last scene was shown, it felt like there was hope that this time around, things can be better, that now he knows what's wrong with him, now he has the help of other people and he can learn how to deal with his feelings when she came in his life... Thank you for this VM, it's my most fav story of Signal...

Can we just appreciate how well made these movies and series are. It is really difficult to get out of this situation if you don’t understand or know anything about who you are up against. If you are ever getting stalked or harassed or in a abusive relationship, anything about serial killers will help. Serial killers are exactly the same as abuses but higher up on the food chain if you will, once a mouse knows how to beat a lion, they can beat a pet cat.
