I'm currently at the very end of my first year of game design college and we're putting the final touches on a 4 month project! You guys had a lot of good advice, and it was nice that I was able to recognize myself in a lot of what you guys were talking about. And it has also given me some pointers about what to expect from the industry and what to be more mindful about. Really good stuff!
Thanks for listening, and we're happy to hear that Daniel's story resonated with you! 😊 It's definitely helpful to get pointers on the soft skills and prepare for your career development when you're getting into the industry -- something you won't learn at every school! Good luck with your future projects!
@@aizengenesis3761 Hi there! Thanks for tuning in :) While it's not an absolute necessity to have studied game development to open your own studio (and some game developers are self-taught), studying game dev can be helpful from a technical standpoint, to learn software and industry best practices, as well as to make connections with people in the industry. We've got a dedicated Career Development Manager who helps students with preparing their portfolios, finding jobs, and preparing for job interviews :) Check out out game dev courses here www.cgspectrum.com/game-development and reach out to our admissions team at hello@cgspectrum.com with any questions!
Thanks for tuning in, Felipe! You might also like our podcast episode with Sarah Spiers that contains tons of tips on getting hired in game dev: ruclips.net/video/PJV4l7tNumg/видео.html ☺

Do think if you want to start your own successful game studio , do you have to go to game development school for that?
