Surprised you didn't mention how Raging Blast's main selling point was the addition of Vegeta as a Super Saiyan 3 for the first time ever. I remember it being advertised heavily for the game.
Okay, this is a slight nitpick but I remember distinctively that you could totally skip transformations on Budokai Tenkaichi 3 if you had enough energy meter and doing a slightly different button combination. Like, holding left and then pressing R3 could make Goku go from base form to Super Saiyajin 2 anda stuff like that. So it's not something introduced in Raging Blast.
Yeah you could do that. I remember being able to go straight to ss3 as goku as opposed to going through ss1 and 2. You could do the same with the vegito and gotenks fusions too where you can fuse right into their super saiyan forms

3:00 Just a small correction here just in case : I don't know about BT2 but in BT3 you could go from base form to SSJ2, 3 or whatever if you wanted by holding the left stick in a particular direction (I think it's left = SSJ2, down = SSJ3 etc) and pressing the transformation button (keep in mind I haven't played the game recently so my memory is a bit fuzzy but it was something like that), it also consummed the "stamina" bars you would need to go from base to the desired transformation (for example going from base to SSJ3 consummed 3 "stamina" bars)

I really liked the ultimate tenkaichi character customization. For example, i will never understand why in xenoverse, your characters hair stays the same when you turn ssj instead of spiking up. Also i loved that you could pick your characters fighting style and their aura. If xenoverse 3 comes out, i hope they have those options because i feel like it will open so many options and variety in characters
The fact you covered Raging Blast deserves a like from me. People ignore the Raging Blast games for not being the tenkaichi games. I loved this game growing up, and was excited for a 3rd game. My only regret is that I traded my copy of raging blast for ultimate tenkaichi. Ultimate Tenkaichi is a joke imagine playing rock paper scissors with punch and kick instead. Fr one of the worst games I have ever played, which sucks because the game is absolutely gorgeous and was the reason I picked it up.
Tenkaichi Tag Team Actually has a lot of pretty decent mods like making it look like XV2, raging blast, Budokai Tenkaichi 1,2,3 also has custom movesets, special, and forms
2:58 You can also choose a form in Tenkaichi 3. With L3+Up you go to the strongest form, and you can go down a form with L3+down. L3+left or right allows you to fuse if you have the other half of the fusion in your team. And the direction determines whether you use Potara or regular fusion for Goku and Vegata
I also loved how RB had the light shaded SS hair rather than just being gold all the time. This was definitely a nod to the animation direction the Anime took.
I love the customization in raging blast 2, there’s so many different ways you can boost characters stats and i also love the fact you can change characters auras
Respectfully, I'm going to defend RB2. I had played and seen the Dragon Ball Z story so many times by the release of this game that I'm happy they gave us a way to unlock stuff and progress that wasn't reliant on the story. The gameplay was superb and the art style still holds up today. I personally have a soft spot for the game because of the "tournaments" me and my buddies held. Don't even get me started on how cool the roster was for this game (although several other DB games had waaayyy better rosters). I personally didn't really care about story in DB games until Battle of Z because of the ability to play an antagonist route & God Goku 🤣. Then XenoVerse comes along with multiple race and gender character creation, an rpg style leveling, and new characters to guide you through the story.
Only think I liked about Battle of Z was that Goku had a Sage Mode Naruto outfit. Lol. (At least I think it was that game) and Storm 3 (I think? Or maybe it was Revolution.) had Naruto in a Goku outfit.
@@chadzard4 I'd have to disagree, budokaii tenkaiichi was my personal favorite. Had they made a HD version and tweaked the graphics a bit, it would be the best. I hated how raging blast was lacking content. we never got GT and the story mode was short.
The thing about Ultimate Tenkaichi, if you pay attention enough, you notice all characters have a built in fighting pattern that lets you easily guess if they pick left or right. Took me like a week to notice it tho.
A thing Raging Blast did over Tenkaichi was "signature skills". It was an extra character specific attack like punch or basic ki blasts. It wasn't powerful and just a single hit but some had great utility like Piccolo quickly stretches his arm to pull an opponent back into melee range, Metal Cooler had this teleport one that would have you appear anywherr the enemy is for a quick strike but if it was blocked it left you vulnerable, Vegeta has a quick ki blast barrage that you could combo into, others had stunning attacks, etc
The algorithm has been suggesting this video series to me all week and I'm happy I finally watched it. You make really good reviews and I'm definitely going to sub and check out the rest of your stuff. I think it would be really cool if you did the Legacy of Goku games.
11:17 I'm not entirely sure either, but a good example is if Future Gohan is fighting 17 or 18 and his health gets low, he'll give the "I won't die even if you kill this body" quote
So, is the next “I played every Dragon Ball game in 2021” going to be DBZ for Kinect, Battle of Z, Xenoverse, Xenoverse 2, FighterZ and Kakarot? Also, would you consider doing the handheld games: Legacy of Goku, Taiketsu, Legacy of Goku 2, Legendary Super Warriors, Supersonic Warriors, Buu’s Fury, Supersonic Warriors 2 and Attack of the Saiyans? I’m so glad I never bought Ultimate Tenkaichi because it just seems awful
Ultimate tenkaichi is fun I enjoyed it. To be honest I'd prefer it over xenoverse 2. Atkeast the combat works and isn't laggy as hell. Also transformations work lol xenoverse 1 was cool then 2 was a damn shame.
2:57 you can do that in Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Never played wii before, but on PS2 the prompt is R3 + left analog. Depending on the direction, you can skip transformations like going directly to super saiyan 3. R3 + backwards usually is to revert to base form, but all cam revert to base like Freeza and oozaru saiyans. It's all in combo menus, along with fusions. 4:02 Budokai Tenkaichi 3 also has specific dialog, but only in the intro and ending of a fight, like Goku (mid) super saiyan says something like "I won't forgive you" to Freeza. 15:56 Holding R3 + analog direction can also use fusion, it also requires specific characters and the direction changes the fusion like between Gotenks base, super saiyan and super saiyan 3 or Vegeto base, super saiyan and Gogeta. Different versions of the same character don't work like Goku (early) can't do fusion with Vegeta (second form). You can even get two Vegeto in the same team on versus mode.
3:00 At least in Tenkaichi 3 (I haven't played the second game in years so I don't remember well) you could transform into any form directly given you had enough "points" (I don't remember how those were called, the ones you need for the support abilities and the transformations). So, for example, if you were playing as Goku from the Bu saga you could press R3 to turn into a Super Saiyan, Left+R3 to turn into super Saiyan 2, Up+R3 to turn into super Saiyan 3 and if I'm not mistaken, you also needed those combinations to fuse with Vegeta during the tag team battles. (I don't know if the combinations are correct but they were something along those lines)
You could also jump transformations in Tenkaichi 3 if you had enough blast stocks, you could choose which form based on the directional output you gave while hitting the transformation button. So R3 and right on the d-pad would give SS2 and so on I believe
I'm happy to watch a growing youtuber from the beginning Edit: did you play Naruto games? (it can be suggestion or question) Ps: I'll wait for more vids good work
I honestly wouldn't make a point against Raging Blast 2 for not having a traditional story mode. A lot of Dragon Ball games retread the same story over and over, so having an arcade-y type mode that is to the point is a nice change of pace.
Playing Xenoverse 2 is a spit in our face compared to all the games we got before. Can’t believe everyone praises that game yes it has very cool concepts but the older games had waaayy more content
XenoVerse is basically a rpg mmo, meaning it was designed for online play from the jump. Gameplay has to be more balanced and less nuanced to be played online. Maybe they should make a fun game for the fans instead of trying to enter the eSports arena.
Lowkey when I was 12 and dbz for kinect dropped I had a guilty pleasure with it in the sense that it felt like what ultimate tenkaichi was meant to be. Played it when my parents were gone so I could really flail around LOL, remember there being a couple missions that were super challenging
Survival in Tenkaichi Tag Team is not endlessly, it ends after 100 opponents are defeated (50 battles), you can gain health/ki/union or energy by fulfilling conditions which makes it somewhat easy to beat if you bring a friend along (Or if you customize your characters with health recovery capsules).
Ultimate tenkaichi had good graphics and the create a character feature i loved a lot. The fighting mechanics were a bit boring but the ultimates looked cool and was animated well imo. Also the fact that some hairstyles changed when going super saiyan with your created character was so cool (something xenoverse 2 can learn from, thanks to modders for creating the option tho) and changing character aura and fighting styles was amazing. I replayed this game multiples times and enjoyed it everytime. Its a weird game that locks u in somehow.
Damn bro just subbed a few days ago when I got recommended the first Budokai Tenkaichi vid you made! Glad to see you already getting them sponsors so you can secure that bag 🙌
I love raging blast 2 and imo it’s the best fighting system in a dragon ball game. It’s a lot like super smash bros melee where there’s so much hidden tech that opens up a ton of combo potential. The game just did a bad job of explaining it and 90% of people have no clue how deep it can get
I love RB2 to death, but it has a few problems with it's combat system. Things like infinites and exploitable bugs have made it less popular than BT2, BT3 and RB1 (believe it or not) in the competitive Tenkaichi community. I was shocked initially when I was told RB1 had a better combat system than RB2 and while I'm just a casual scrub who prefers the million different combo extensions of RB2 I can now understand some of it's flaws.
@@TotallyAmSam RB1 can't be better than RB2 though because RB1 has less combo set ups/strings. RB1 doesn't even have juggling. So less can't mean better. RB2 felt like a step up in every direction except single player content
@@Vegeta291 well there's the catch. I understand RB2 added more, but in the eyes of the competitive community, this was to it's detriment. I personally prefer RB2, but if you've ever watched a competitive RB1 match you'll see an insane depth to the skill involved. I'll link a video in a separate reply
I LOVED Raging Blast 1. The combat might have been slightly enhanced in RB2 but overall as a game RB1 offered more. Was a big fan of Ultimate customise in particular. I hope Tenkaichi 4 follows the pattern RB1 set, but I predict it will probably be closer to Kakarot or Xenoverse in gameplay, sadly.
3:00 actually in Tenkaichi 3 at least you CAN decide which form you transform to from base. You can go straight to ssj3 Goku from base for example, it just costs more of your blast stocks. You do this by holding a direction on the d-pad corresponding to the transformation you want, while you are clicking the thumb stick to transform. This is also how you do fusions mid-match.
Now what if you did all of the Naruto Ultimate Ninja games or Clash of the Ninja games or both? Love the content you brought to YT btw, happy holidays.
i remember commenting that you should paly dragon ball games and then i completely forgot about it, i searched your channel again and it was a pleasant surprise that you played almost all of them, great videos man keep it up
In budokai tenkaichi 3 doing a rush combo super attack ( cutscenes where your character do a combo to your opponent like goku meteor smash) will launch the opponent always in the same direction and replace both players in the center of the map ( or at a specific spot predetermined). Also in tenkaichi 3 you could also select the level of transformation, from base to ssj3 by just pressing on the d-pad a direction, tho it consumes more energy charge.
A few things here: 2:50 when you mention dash struggles you seem to be saying you can do this here but couldn't in BT series(if not then sorry for misinterpreting your words). If that s the case then that s wrong. Dash struggles were there since BT1. 3:00 In BT3 you could also go from base to any transformations. 16:05 i think i remember being able to fuse in BT3 only in team battle also or you had to take the already fused character in the char select screen.
16:00 Correct me if Im wrong, but I believe this fusion mechanic was in Tenkaichi 2 & 3 Still a great video btw, for only 20k subs your content is unreal! Excited to see whats upcoming in 2022 :)
Tag Team and Ultimate are actually trying to imitate the manga style, not so much the anime. That’s why the character have a more “clean” shading & outlining, if that makes any sense.
Back on these vids again. You do an absolute amazing job with these a d it's a proper trip down memory lane. I was gonna ask if you were you would place the 'battle of Z' game or if you would review it at some point. It's quite fun.
I don't remember if it was in Raging Blast 1 too but in Raging blast 2 you can perform team attacks based on your team when the opponent hit his last health bar. It's a cool mechanic and it also work as an instant kill
While not a great game, Ultimate Tenkaichi is not nearly as bad as people claim it is. At first I did see it as nothing more then a rock paper scissors simulator but I eventually realized it's more like a fast paced strategy game. Different moves have different ranges as well as different cost to damage ratios and since you can't just charge ki, you have to set up your moveset to play around it. Like for my custom character, I would put low cost moves on base and the strong high cost moves on Super Saiyan with one slot each dedicated to long range and short range. The spirit gauge also has to be played around in a specific way since its basically a get out of jail free card. You do things like use weak moves to burn their gauge, do a heavy combo to build ki and then blast them with a strong super when they have no gauge. It is surprisingly fun when you know how the game really works.
I was curious what the best DBZ video game was and your videos have been an invaluable resource. imo there is no better resource than someone who's actually played them all, which is what I find particularly appealing about your videos. Liked and Subscribed, eager to see more content.
Playing ultimate tenkaichi as a kid I instantly gave up cuz I had no idea of what was going on, after hearing what you had to say you got me interested in trying it again!
Tenkaichi Tag Team port for the Switch would be great. Nintendo's online is poor but local play on the go would be wild with 3 other players; maybe more?
I loved raging blast. One of the reasons is because you could make some absolutely broken custom decks with certain characters. Specifically tien. You could buff the heck out of his ultimate attack to kill the opponent in only 4 to 5 shots (remember, you could shoot like, 8 or 9 times at full health) and you could make it so your super/ultimate attacks couldn't be blocked. So if you hit the opponent at all, they just die. It was so fun
You could actually skip transformations in Tenkaichi 2 (and 3, maybe? I never played it). Depending on how you move the analog stick during the transformation. So holding the left stick to the right while pressing the transformation button would skip Goku straight to SS3. I also believe you could so straight to certain transformations in Budokai 3 if your Ki meter was full. So you could transform from base Goku to SS4 if you had a full Ki meter
Tenkaichi Tag Team was my first DBZ game. Still enjoy it to this game. Had to emulate it though. It was funnily satisfying to do the Broly movie from Broly's perspective.
The characters dialogue for RB2 isn’t random. They happened between specific characters after specific events. For example after Vegeta loses 1 bar of health and is fighting Goku he will give the speech about how he is a “Saiyan elite.”

I love the customization in raging blast 2, there’s so many different ways you can boost characters stats and i also love the fact you can change characters auras
also, there’s a bit of a modding community for raging blast 2 (mostly just replacing models but still really cool for an old game)
Raging Blast 1 and 2 were the best DB games ever made. The gameplay made it feel like a DBZ simulator.
@@TheRed02151 Gameplay is infinitely better in RB2 over the Tenkaichi games
Hell yeah You did part 2 already! I watched all the others last night, great content
Another banger from Niosai in the DBZ game reviews. Seriously well made videos, always a banger and joy to watch.
The thing about Ultimate Tenkaichi, if you pay attention enough, you notice all characters have a built in fighting pattern that lets you easily guess if they pick left or right. Took me like a week to notice it tho.
I can't believe you got a Sponsorship so fast! You're going places!!
Raging blast was so beautiful, bright, and fun
I loved UT back in 2012 and 13. I had so much fun with it.
I'm glad you got some enjoyment out of it :)
The algorithm has been suggesting this video series to me all week and I'm happy I finally watched it. You make really good reviews and I'm definitely going to sub and check out the rest of your stuff.
I think it would be really cool if you did the Legacy of Goku games.
11:17
I'm not entirely sure either, but a good example is if Future Gohan is fighting 17 or 18 and his health gets low, he'll give the "I won't die even if you kill this body" quote
He...he plays Ultimate Tenkaichi in this video.
@@RemixerUltimate I hadn’t seen that yet because I didn’t want to spoil myself for what games he talked about
Ultimate tenkaichi is fun I enjoyed it.
Good job Niosai, I'm glad to see your channel growing! Looking forward to seeing more awesome content *cough* Naruto games *cough*
I'm happy to watch a growing youtuber from the beginning
Edit: did you play Naruto games? (it can be suggestion or question)
Ps: I'll wait for more vids good work
I honestly wouldn't make a point against Raging Blast 2 for not having a traditional story mode. A lot of Dragon Ball games retread the same story over and over, so having an arcade-y type mode that is to the point is a nice change of pace.
This is the kind of content I want from RUclips! Keep it up!
i LOVE this series, so much nostalgia! subscribed and looking forward to your new videos :D
Yes yes finally I've been waiting for this you should make more of this its really good keep up the good work
Playing Xenoverse 2 is a spit in our face compared to all the games we got before. Can’t believe everyone praises that game yes it has very cool concepts but the older games had waaayy more content
Yeah Raging Blasts shits all over the Xenoverses.
XenoVerse is basically a rpg mmo, meaning it was designed for online play from the jump. Gameplay has to be more balanced and less nuanced to be played online. Maybe they should make a fun game for the fans instead of trying to enter the eSports arena.
maybe people just... idk, like the game
just because you don't like it, doesn't mean everyone should not like it as well
Lowkey when I was 12 and dbz for kinect dropped I had a guilty pleasure with it in the sense that it felt like what ultimate tenkaichi was meant to be.
The game just did a bad job of explaining it and 90% of people have no clue how deep it can get
Big facts. Because of how amazing RB2 is, I always hold onto the hopes for an RB3. We need to get another match going sometime soon
It's because there was no story mode so it didn't sell good
I love RB2 to death, but it has a few problems with it's combat system.
This is also how you do fusions mid-match.
you have to slowly pull down the transformation thing though for fusion
I don't know why but Ultimate Tenkaichi is like my guilty pleasure, i used to really like it back in the day
If it brings you joy, that's all that matters :)
Aah ultimate tenkaichi. The game that's infinitely more fun to watch than to play.
Damn you are pumping these out my man. Don’t get burnt out. Love the content!
I think budokai tenkaichi 3 should have a feature that allows you to unlock the characters easier becasue it's such a pain but fun in every other way
I mean, you can input the character codes
Raging Blast 1 was the first dragon ball game I played and what got me interested in the series even more then the anime and GT
I wish there was a raging blast 3
A future video on all the Dynasty Warrior: Gundam games would be SO EXCITING imo. Loving this channel so far.
Now what if you did all of the Naruto Ultimate Ninja games or Clash of the Ninja games or both?
Love the content you brought to YT btw, happy holidays.
22:07 as a kid, i used to think they were actually out of the show. i never knew they were made for the actual game. that's honestly really cool.
i remember commenting that you should paly dragon ball games and then i completely forgot about it, i searched your channel again and it was a pleasant surprise that you played almost all of them, great videos man keep it up
Man, these games bring back nostalgia. This is my entire childhood right here.
Thanks so much for bringing back a piece of it.
🔥
Your google + logo is nostalgia too
In budokai tenkaichi 3 doing a rush combo super attack ( cutscenes where your character do a combo to your opponent like goku meteor smash) will launch the opponent always in the same direction and replace both players in the center of the map ( or at a specific spot predetermined).
Also in tenkaichi 3 you could also select the level of transformation, from base to ssj3 by just pressing on the d-pad a direction, tho it consumes more energy charge.
MY BOY GETTING SPONSORS LEFT AND RIGHT YOU LOVE TO SEE IT.
A few things here:
2:50 when you mention dash struggles you seem to be saying you can do this here but couldn't in BT series(if not then sorry for misinterpreting your words). If that s the case then that s wrong. Dash struggles were there since BT1.
3:00 In BT3 you could also go from base to any transformations.
16:05 i think i remember being able to fuse in BT3 only in team battle also or you had to take the already fused character in the char select screen.
1. Nah dash struggles is BT3 when u do a melee super or press L2+X on ps2.
3. Yes
@@tyrone2423 1. Well yeah but that was there since BT1
@@megacrapul I replied cause u said it there was no struggles since bt 1.
@@tyrone2423 oh ok sorry about that. Let me correct this.
Edit: should be corrected now
16:00 Correct me if Im wrong, but I believe this fusion mechanic was in Tenkaichi 2 & 3
Still a great video btw, for only 20k subs your content is unreal! Excited to see whats upcoming in 2022 :)
Tag Team and Ultimate are actually trying to imitate the manga style, not so much the anime. That’s why the character have a more “clean” shading & outlining, if that makes any sense.
Wow, a sponsor!!! Congrats, my dude! Keep it up!!!
Back on these vids again. You do an absolute amazing job with these a d it's a proper trip down memory lane. I was gonna ask if you were you would place the 'battle of Z' game or if you would review it at some point. It's quite fun.
2:58 in bodukai tenkaichi 3, you can still go from base directly to any form depending on your character, and fusions too
Great video Trevor I loved all the tenkaichi games growing up except rock paper scissor. Loved you more in cow chop
This is a sick video glad you’re revisiting all the dbz games
I don't remember if it was in Raging Blast 1 too but in Raging blast 2 you can perform team attacks based on your team when the opponent hit his last health bar.
It's a cool mechanic and it also work as an instant kill
We need a sequel to this amazing game series, i don't know but new Dragon Ball games just doesn't feel the same as the old ones
Love your content
It's just not as fun to play against bots as it was in the BT games. Playing UT games can really be a fun game.
Nice video and series fr. You should do One Piece games next!
Bro your channel blew up congrats man!!!
I'm glad I found you through YT recommend. Your content is great!
hey your first Sponsored nice! congrats man you made it!
You are riding the wave of the algorithm like a boss with your videos. Keep surfing since you deserve it 👍
Dude you’re one of my new favorite RUclipsrs. Keep these videos up king 👑
Love the content man may the algorithm bless this channel
Tenkaichi Tag Team was my first DBZ game. Still enjoy it to this game. Had to emulate it though.
It was funnily satisfying to do the Broly movie from Broly's perspective.
Same, even have alot of mods
The characters dialogue for RB2 isn’t random. They happened between specific characters after specific events. For example after Vegeta loses 1 bar of health and is fighting Goku he will give the speech about how he is a “Saiyan elite.”
