OffbeatLook - Beauty and Lifestyle with Camille 🤣😂🤣 my daughter in law says that having to take showers and grooming irritates me because I can't multitask!
I think, one of the things not mentioned is creating templates for video editing. I have a template for each of my different types of videos which makes it easier for me to just drag my clips and drop them in my editing timeline. In my templates, my intro is in place as well as my end card and outro. I also have placeholders for all of my text with all the necessary animations, and all I have to do is type in my new text.
General Tips -Batching -Block time -Assistant Video Prep 1, 2, 3. VAL (Video, Audio, Light) 4. Set 5. Wardrobe Shooting Day 6. Video Outline 7. Shoot the video 8. Shoot Thumbnail picture 9. Shoot B-Roll 10. Shoot Social Media Content
Here is a TIP: find something that drives and motivates you pushes you to want to do more, film something everyday, even if its just a min long, use the shots later. use clips from old vids.
Great tips! I especially like the part about doubling your energy to appear "normal" on video, definitely something I need to work on. Thanks for this vid!
once upon a synth I agree! When I batch shoot, I try to make sure I get plenty of rest and get up and have a lot of energy that day so it comes across on the footage. I can tell the difference when I'm just having to shoot video because I think I'm behind or a little stressed. It shows up.
My tip for being consistent is to shoot a couple of extra videos which you can publish when you don't have time to shoot a new video in time. By doing that you can still stay consistent and serve your subscribers by keeping your publishing schedule.
As the biggest Navy RUclips Channel ,, i've realized Batch Recording doesn't work for me :/ but thats okay! Everyone has their own style and creative process ! For me i can only focus on 1 or 2 major projects or "videos" per day. I get creative burnout easy after the 2nd video and to be honest I like the satisfaction of editing the video right away :) Keep up the great content !!
+SMART TEQ (The New QTube) It depends on the mm of your lens. If it's a kit lens (18-55mm) then you need a 58mm Lens Hood. Just google "lens hood for x lens".
what is the difference between LED ring light and ring light ? And Should i buy buy ring light or Soft box ? Plz help can't make my mind :) also if you could do the video to compare ring light with soft box that will be awesome. By the way your video is really helpful and awesome.
This was EXTREMELY helpful thank you so much!!!! Before the vid began I was going to ask if you used a script haha. How often do you film the batches of video? Once a week? Once a month?
Definitely going to try batching! For most girls we don't just have to shower, it's makeup and hair too! haha. So much time saved. The switching shirts tip is genius.
I relate so heavily to this! Just starting my channel and I've been nervous that I won't look right or have time to do it all, but batching will definitely help!
Batching is great but I find that by the time I finish filming one video my energy is way off and I don't like the other videos I film after the first one!!! Wow, I didn't get to the block your energy part. Ok, gonna try that!!!
SAME!! Every time I try to film more than once, I am so exhausted afterwards. Especially since it takes so long to make just one video, and doing more than one just makes it that much more draining D:
MsNerdyChica One thing that's helped me with the same thing minimizing my down time in between videos lol By the time you do one video and find yourself taking an extended break, it's game over
Really helpful Sean! That's what people don't understand about how much time and effort comes into making youtube videos. You explained and helped out a lot of people. Keep it up!
My biggest tip to consistency is committing to something you are willing to accomplish. Secondary tip: Have your camera and mic setup somewhere so you can just jump in and roll it!
FOMO is sO real. My eyes keep on focusing on the thumbnails of the videos on the right....so scared i miss out on something 😂😂😂😂. Much Love From Cape Town _/\/¯¯¯¯¯\/¯\_☀🙋🙆 ! I'll be back!
Batching is great. I also do a few "takes" of each video and use the best one. I'm better at talking than editing so this simplifies my A Roll editing and saves time on that end of the process. An extra hour in front of the camera saves me lots of hours editing.
what is the difference between LED ring light and ring light ? And Should i buy buy ring light or Soft box ? Plz help can't make my mind :) also if you could do the video to compare ring light with soft box that will be awesome. By the way your video is really helpful and awesome.
hey Sean! This is great advice! its hard to batch if your channel has to do with beauty and makeup because you have to change outfits and makeup! just a note :)
Great video! I really appreciate the thoughtful content you produce. I have only recently started to take my RUclips channel seriously (uploading weekly, interesting intros, interacting with viewers) I mostly didn't take it so serious because I wasn't really sure how to get the idea I had in mind across to the viewer. Your channel has definitely helped me to rethink the way I film, edit and produce my content.
Hey Sean, your channel is super informative, good stuff. My QUESTION OF THE DAY for you is: How the hell do you organize/file/store all of your content (video, images, etc.)! I'm gonna start batch shooting and I noticed you mentioned, B roll, social media batch shots, and thumbnails just to name a few for each video. I'm just getting started with my channel, but managing my data has been one of the biggest challenges, especially when it comes to speeding up my workflow in post, I'm still a one man factory! Any tips, suggestions or hacks in a video would be great, but Ill take any advice, thanks!
I've been working on building up my consistency and this was a GOLD MINE of tips! Thank you so much for this awesome video! I especially like the batch video concept! I'm going to save so much time doing that single tip!!!!!
This is absolutely amazing information man! I've watched so many of your videos and want to personally thank you for the help you give to all of us! Just bought a Canon m50 because of your advice....1 video using it and I'm loving it! Keep up the great work ya legend!
How can I apply for for DIY channels? It's a challenge to continuous be creative... I have been on RUclips for almost 3 years and I have created A LOT of content. It's hard sometimes for continuous come up with content without getting burned out from DIYs
I usually don't comment on videos such as these! But I had too on this one! I literally follow these.Esp. Batching & Preparing before the shoot day, & I've def seen the consistency of uploads on my channel for sure! :) Love your tips for beginners! :)
I'm living in a place with such bad net that I upload a video starting around 10pm and it's still uploading at 7am. It blows. Luckily I'm moving soon and hopefully I'll have a better signal. Any advice on bad net connection solutions?
Great video. First I've heard of the "double your energy to appear normal on camera" - but it makes sense. If you were this energetic while speaking to me one-on-one in person, I'd be like eyyy this dude needs to take it down a notch are we on TV? But seems perfectly normal for RUclips. Would love to see a detailed video on that alone :D Thanks for what you do!
Hey Sean, I know this vid is a couple of years old now, but it is so full of useful tips and tricks. Thank you for making my job easier by helping me with my process! Think Media rocks!!
Really helpful tips Sean. I batch a lot...especially on my off days (since I have a full time job). For me the editing is the hard part because it sometimes can take multiple days for 1 video (even weeks).
Hey thanks for this video. But actually sitting here I feel there is something about the way you talk that gives me confidence as a viewer. What I mean is the energy you have in your videos. Now every time I watch a "how to be a RUclipsr video", everyone says be yourself. I have a lot of sides to myself. Me with close friends is loud and fearless, me with partner is a lot of laughter and chilling, me around parents is respectful and yes a bit of fun, me at work is different and me with strangers depending on what stranger it is is different, and me as a parent is totally different again. Now being in front of a camera and having to talk to a lenses is something I've never done before so I don't know what that me is like. So , my question, when you are talking to the camera, do you act like you are on stage and performing to draw in your audience? Or be the most attractive of all the different yous that you are? Sorry it's a bit off topic. Ur since I'm here, didn't want to lose my train of thought. I hope it makes sense. Thanks
My tip is to not take advice from me, because I'm definitely not consistent. Good video. I'm planning on using some of these tips. Especially the batching.
Sean- I have a nutrition channel, but what I really love to do is incorporate music into my videos to make them more interesting than your average "talking head" video. One channel I aspire to is Kalyn Nicholson. She ALWAYS uses popular music clips in her videos, and knowing about copyright laws, I wonder how she does it... especially having over 1 million subscribers. Can you explain this?
i keep a stupidly detailed checklist that I modify to the specific videos I plan to film ( I think through and modify the list the night before I film) :) awesome video!!!!
I'm a newbie on youtube I'm first 3 videos I tried batching 2 came out well the next time I tried batching 2 videos and they both were huge disaster now I just do one a time but I hope to try 2 videos together again next week. hopefully my nervousness played a part before. overall I feel confident these days and less nervous
Hi Sean, how do you keep your audio levels consistent from video to video? Are you using a limiter? Do you have fixed gain stage? Love the channel. Cheers
Well, I just started a month ago....but so far.....I've learned that scheduling time on my days off, when I'm not rushed for better lighting produces better pictures. Especially because I'm filming in an iPhone and not a batter camera. I've also learned to edit when no one else is at home to distract me/call me/need me.....
How many sets do most of you have as a background? So far I only have the 1 I have used for all my videos, but wondering if it would be worth moving around the house to have different backgrounds.
I sometimes practice making the video first before the camera is on to work the bugs out of my dialogue. Lately 1 video per day doesn’t allow for that.
Dope pillows man, and great info. I like the batching idea. I do a music channel, so that approach is kind of hard because I could spend a whole day learning one song. I generally have a rehearsal day, then a record day.
Dude, this is one of the best videos I've ever seen about producing RUclips videos. I've learned at least 3 new things that I'm going to use in upcoming shoots!
Great video as always! Certainly taking some of these tips into consideration for my channel. I love staging with plants and i always have at least 5 different shirts on hands 😂it makes the videos come to life.
I love how you're so proud of that shower you took
Just have to get a phone with a smellometre. Then you will be set
OffbeatLook - Beauty and Lifestyle with Camille 🤣😂🤣 my daughter in law says that having to take showers and grooming irritates me because I can't multitask!
I was literally looking for this comment, glad to see it at the top lolol
Hahahahahah......
right? made me laugh, as if that's such a drag to do (says the girl walking around in onesies all the time)
Hey! I'm gonna shower, do my makeup, and batch record today. Wish me luck
That’s a great tip!
Hi What editing software do you use? I'd love to create place holders and just type in the text. Let me know :)
What do you mean?
gr8 1
I think templates are mostly for animation niche. He is giving tips for all types of niches
For me the succulent made the video.
Change it to a herb next,,mix it up hehehe
Batch recording is definitely the way to go. Especially when you have a 9 to 5 job outside of RUclips like I do. Taking a shower also helps. :)
Seriously! I've started doing this once per month and editing at one time as well. That has literally changed everything.
Yeah this can work. Film 4 videos once a month and edit them throughout the month
Haha! Batch recording is the best way lol especially when you have a 9-5 lol I'm happy to learn I'm not the only one doing this lol
+Fatima Wow, I gunna try and do that!!
Hahaha so happy to know that batch recording is actually happening, I thought it was just me too! Yeah because of 9-6day job 😂

Justin Bennett I think the same! Great tip. 💪
Great tips! I especially like the part about doubling your energy to appear "normal" on video, definitely something I need to work on. Thanks for this vid!
once upon a synth agreed!
Started making videos when my energy improved after changing my diet
I so need to work on this tip as well. lol
once upon a synth I agree! When I batch shoot, I try to make sure I get plenty of rest and get up and have a lot of energy that day so it comes across on the footage. I can tell the difference when I'm just having to shoot video because I think I'm behind or a little stressed. It shows up.

LOVE THIS!!! Thanks for sharing!!! For me, I also work a full-time job, so I'm trying to figure how to batch shoot WHILE making time for my family!!!
Consistency works with quality. I see a lot of quantity over quality, which is killing RUclips.
Exactly....
i love your videos so much! so motivating and edicational..xox
I'm a serial batcher!!! doing a video a day. x
As the biggest Navy RUclips Channel ,, i've realized Batch Recording doesn't work for me :/

Cool to see someone say this,,I find shooting a video is super draining too, and find batching hard when I am shooting on my own.
I tried to shoot two videos back to back and I was completely exhausted lol

:-)
Added to the video ideas list!
I say it's got something to do with "Good Content."
Wanderer hahaha
Absolutely awesome content, I need to start blocking even more and writing outlines! Nice point on shooting for social media as well!
Thanks so much for this Sean! You're amazing and your work ethic inspires me to no end! :D
Your videos are extremely helpful. Thank you so much!!

I bought a boya lavalier mic. Why do I have to disconnect it from my phone to listen to the video?
I don't know if anyone has told you but the way you talk is very clear and simple for anyone to understand Awesome
For myself I do videos everyday so I make sure I have the video done the day before and scheduled for the next day.
Seriously helpful video, thank you!!
Thank you for this it's really practical and useful 🙏✨
Batching will help me a lot. Shooting takes so much time and energy.
the succulent looks great bro. I couldn't fault it.
Can you give me tips for a photography RUclips channel
Yeah me and photo source are really good friends and we both love photography/videography and we would love some tips
Thanks . I did two videos yesterday for my daily vlog. I will post them by noon today. Great information.
Thank you for doing what you do. It really helps all of us who are figuring this stuff out and are just starting out. You guys are awesome.
hey Sean! This is great advice! its hard to batch if your channel has to do with beauty and makeup because you have to change outfits and makeup! just a note :)
CocoaNia I'm trying to plan out outfit ideas beforehand &doing the prep beforehand to help with that!
The succulent plays the main role here. Always stays the same, doesn't change shirts.
Helped alot... that shower tip... i knew I wasn't doing some right lol #WannabeMatt
This is AMAZING! and SO HELPFUL!
Such good tips - cheers!

I’m going to have to watch this again and take notes!
have thought about batching, but impossible as i need an entire day to make my videos
Then you can do it on weekends like Sunday, or any weekday when you are completely free.
You can find a solution somehow if you decide you can rather than deciding you cant
I've been working on building up my consistency and this was a GOLD MINE of tips! Thank you so much for this awesome video! I especially like the batch video concept! I'm going to save so much time doing that single tip!!!!!

Great one. Making video early morning can also be good.
Super Helpful video! I will be applying these tips and tricks when filming for my channel! Thank you :)

Hi Sean, how do you keep your audio levels consistent from video to video? Are you using a limiter? Do you have fixed gain stage? Love the channel. Cheers

Thanks for the tips! I started my own channel 2 months ago party thanks to your help. Only done a few videos and almost have 200 subbs.
Amazing video, one of the best I've seen for new creators. Had to figure a lot of this out on my own. This needs to be on RUclips's Creator Academy.
Hey Sean, Whats the camera lens that you are using for this video? I like the wide angle look for creating the spacial effect.
Sorry, I need to read the description more often!
I sometimes practice making the video first before the camera is on to work the bugs out of my dialogue. Lately 1 video per day doesn’t allow for that.
Awesome tips! I'm a daily vlogger so these are a bit hard for me but batching is for sure an awesome
Idea!. Thank you so much !
I can't begin to tell you how helpful this videos was! Wow, for real. Thanks for sharing!
Pillow great
Do you have a video that discusses cards and annotations on RUclips? I'm having trouble in this area especially getting it to work on mobile.
Maaaaaaaaaaaaan, do some video about recommended budget voice recorders
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Will definitely be batching going forward. It takes way too long to set up only to shoot one video.
Useful, thanks!
Awesome tips! Great for me just getting started on my video blog. thanks so much!
Your welcome!
These tips are really making me think and helping my channel grow into what it's supposed to be!

what kind of light ring are you using?
also, I got the mic you have but mine echoes pretty bad, any suggestions?
Nice video and guide for beginner like me!!!
I had to comment on the shower thing!!!! 😂😂😂😂 love it! Good line. I laughed so hard!!
Brilliant video, great tips. Thank you very much.
this was incredibly helpful! thankyou!
I wish I had some tips, I am the worst at being consistent. I promise you that I will definitely be using all of your tips to become more consistent.
