    That is absolutely insane! Not only because it’s cutting aluminum but because it’s cutting aluminum SO FAST like it’s cutting through butter!

    Those finish and chamfer passes are especially nice to watch.

    Hey, I thought I heard somewhere that this specific part from this video was milled with a 220v 2.2KW spindle, can you confirm that for me? I'm wondering if the 1.5KW spindle from the altmill kit would be able to cut with this performance. I have 220V 50A outlet that I ran for a future CNC so I'm not limited by 110V, so not sure if I should order the Altmill without the spindle and than source the spindle myself. A 2.2KW 220V Watercooled or Aircooled including the VFD is about CAD $500 w/ shipping from AliExpress and I also wonder if those are good quality.

    Any recommendations on enclosing an Altmill? The material removal rate is insane but cleaning those chips out of the nooks and crannies in my garage would get old really quick!

    Newb question, how do you make sure the piece is in the exact right position when you flip it over for the second side?

    • @SienciLabs
      @SienciLabs  9 месяцев назад +4

      Typically there are index holes that allow for precise alignment once flipped!

    Awesome. Can I ask what “WOC” stands for?
    Thanks 🙏

      Width of cut 🙂

      @@SienciLabs so is that the same as “step over”?

    • @SienciLabs
      @SienciLabs  3 месяца назад +1

      @@chrisdesignco Sort of, step over is typically referred to as a % of the diameter of the bit, and WOC is the width of the cut that the bit makes in the material.

    What spindle are you running here?

    Need a liquid tray and dispenser attached to the spindle that for the shavings. Metal shavings can do a lot of damage
