John Hayes Rockhole is the best, especially after heavy rain, as there is individual rockholes to swim in, with lots of frogs swimming and jumping around. A real delight especially in the warmer days.
Amazing trip and great hikes! Would love to see a few views of Alice Springs too. For those not from Australia that is interesting too. Stay warm. You need a down comforter. We were just in a rental van up in Alberta last month (no heater) and it went below freezing as well. We had swapped out the quilt for our comforter from home and were so glad. They pack up small but keep you nice and toasty.
Thanks for watching Roberta. We will be back in Alice, to be honest there’s not much to see there and a lot of it is sad. We will try to show a bit in an upcoming video. We are currently out in the centre about to head to the big rock Uluṟu
Hey Nigel and Sue. I do enjoy your videos. Thank you. I too have a Sprinter Van that I converted myself and whilst building it I decided to go without LP gas and thus built a big electrical system. So on cold Tassie nights I run a small electrical fan heater for 15 minutes to warm the van up. I do understand the diesel heaters work well but when they don't what are you left with.
Hey Peter, Nigel here. Good point mate. Can I ask you what size inverter you are running? Ours is 2000 W. Large enough, but I doubt it would have enough capacity to run an electric heater. If they're anything like hair dryers, they typically have an output of around 2000 watts and upwards. But maybe there are units out there that run a lot lighter on juice?? On a side note. The part for the diesel heater we were chasing finally arrived, just in time for the warmer climate as we head north now. Lol. Gotta laugh. Anyways, I have plenty of time to repair the thing in prep for Tassie. Safe travels!
@@nigeltindall1446 Hey mate. I built a complete Renogy system in my van. I have 3 x 170amphour lithium batteries a 200 watt solar panel and a 3000w Renogy charger/inverter.... And the system works faultlessly.
don't worry David, it certainly crossed my mind! Lol. If this part (that's only just arrived) doesn't do the trick then we'll most likely just bite the bullet and get a replacement unit, for the sake of $180 and all the stuffing around. Cheers
Quick update David. The replacement thermostat did the trick. Yewwwww! Pretty happy about that. Other than the fact we’ll not be needing a heater now for,,, who knows how long? Lol.
wonderful
Thanks Tony, glad you enjoyed it!

Beautiful, especially that chain of ponds walk!
Great watching your vlogs seeing all Australia has to offer.
Thanks Vicky, glad you’re enjoying it. Plenty more of the outback to come!

Enjoying the vids.
You might consider a 12 volt electric blanket. They are cheap and don't use much power on the low setting. Ours is good.
Thanks Michael, we’ve had a few people recommend them. Thankfully we only have another week or so before we head north to warmer temperatures now.

That’s exactly right! Hopefully we will get it fixed before we get to Tassie, otherwise we may have to look at an alternative.

Hmmm … maybe we’re mad heading to Alice - looks colder than Melbourne and that’s saying something!
Great video!
It’s definitely warming up now! You’re going to love it.
Hahahaha….cold hands - warm jacket sounds reasonable to me 🖐️🖐️🖐️
Right?? Sharing is caring. Thanks for watching! 🧡
Can’t get over how cold it is this year, are the locals you come across saying the same?
Yes, they are saying it’s the coldest winter in Alice for decades
You should go out and just buy a whole new heater and forget about the spare parts.
We are kind of wishing we did now! Unfortunately this company which is supposedly in Sydney has really let us down, with delivery already over 3 weeks

Did you convert that sprinter to 4wd or was it already that way?
It was 4x4 from the factory. We bought the van second hand though
Was that a free park spot
No it’s a NT National Park, sites need to be booked through their website, cost was $6 per person per night.
Thank you@@nigelandsueadventures
