Actually, I think the "clean lifestyle" question was more of a compliment. BTS has not been involved in any scandals regarding their personal life, which has helped them live up to the inspiring messages reflected in their songs for many ARMY. Also, this question probably became more relevant due to recent drug and rape scandals involving Seungri, Jung Joon young, and the rest of his disgusting rapist kpop singer friends.

My thoughts exactly. I was reading the subtitled and he translated RM's English response so well.

In general, I felt like the interpreter was doing a great job - but when he interpreted the whole answer RM gave: I was super impressed! That’s very difficult to do and a lot of pressure because RM would know if there was a mistake. I have always been impressed of RM’s ability to interpret for the members, as he’s had no training. Well, we know how smart he is.
I’m an interpreter and if I had to work with 7 people talking at the same time I might lose it ha! He is patience himself. I’m glad there are interpreters now, that is one less thing he has to worry about and he can just be himself.
When RM is talking about serious stuff he is so sexy. I love his "leader" persona because he is very charismatic but in a humble way. I also love when he can just be Joonie and laugh and relax a bit.

The guy that asked the question is a Korean journalist who wrote many works criticising and opposing BTS. He’s from another major Korean entertainment company named YG and It’s not surprising that he showed up to the conference to try and back BTS into a corner due to false accusations as BigHit is a competing company. If the camera wasn’t zoomed in, you would be able to see that Jimin was about to answer the question before the guy asked it again and he’s face fell which broke my heart when I saw it. But Suga answered it really well and once again if the camera wasn’t zoomed in you would be able to see that JK even smirked at how well Suga deflected it.
I’m explaining this because I feel like maybe you might want to know more behind what actually happened in that minute or so, but if you didnt then I’m sorry for wasting your time. lol bye

The most interesting part to me was when RM just outlined the way Big Hit develops concepts with the group, first admitting he hadn't finished the book as suggested by the company. That surprised me. Then he talked about their process. I love hearing about the nuts and bolts. These guys are so sharp.

BTS did themselves proud at this press conference. Considering they are all in their twenties, it's really amazing how well they presented themselves as artists and people.
Personally, I am very impressed with the Hyung Line. RM is the grp leader for good reasons. He is artistic, inclusive and driven; very admirable. Suga's answers reveals he is a deep thinker, true artist and straight forward person. J-Hope reveals he posesses unique juxtapose qualities; being 'results focussed' but also 'super nice guy'. These two qualities rarely go hand in hand and he is a good example of this juxtaposition. For me, Jin is most unexpected. He usually goofs around and throws bad dad jokes too often. But when it comes time, Jin answers elegantly. Proving he is an intelligent humble and witty person. Very different to the 'worldwide handsome' facade he puts on.

He's been studying so hard. I can tell with this latest round of interviews in the US that he's actively listening. Not to mention his pronunciation has improved. It was really good before, but now it sounds amazing.

It also seems like he wants to answer some question but then notices that he can't say directly what he would like to (probably because of lack of words) and doesn't know a way around it so he can rephrase his answer. I'm pretty sure he understands most of what the interviewer asks, giving he/she is having a clear pronunciation and speaks in a rather normal speed.

@@1anna1 Definitely empathize with him (and they others). I studied Japanese for four years in University and live/worked in Japan for two. My listening is quite good (70-80%) but I freeze up when I have to speak. I think their comprehension is quite high, but short interviews like this are one of the most difficult places to have to speak.
Eli Von when learning a language you usually get better at listening, especially when you consume a lot in that language like tv shows or music or even interviews, which are actually great because they're short and you get quite a lot of information.
I also think that most of them, if not all, understand a good amount or the main point of a question. But namjoon is probably quicker in response.
I could also imagine that they hesitate to answer in korean because namjoon would have to translate it, so they don't want to bother him with that because it's already hard enough, so it's easier and faster when he answers it.
I'm currently studying korean and it's SO hard to understand something when they're speaking!!!

I am so thankful to you for subbing this press conference in English. I am so impressed with RM on how great of a speaker and answering the questions to the journalists. He is a much better speaker than I could ever dream of being. Kookie watching everything RM was doing was so touching. I can see that his passion for learning is growing. RM is the best leader ever. I was so glad that some of the other members answered the questions too. Suga...especially with the sensitive question about BST... he handled it very professionally. V... my sweet bias, I could tell how nervous he was at this conference and I am cheering him on as I am watching this. Jimin so cute and getting embarrassed about his past back in the day of his debut stage. He look how far much he has grown since then. Hobi.. I am so proud of him growing his abilities both in rapping and writing. Our sunshine of the group.. Just love his energy he brings to the group. Jin.. our eldest member... love him too.

from what i know of, Map of the Soul divided into four stage, PERSONA, SHADOW, EGO and SELF. so their next album is properly MAP OF THE SOUL: SHADOW, with Purple cover and their title track is UMBRELLA, according to some ARMY theory on their next album, the released date is the 4th of October this years, i'm pretty sure that it is an EP, MAP OF THE SOUL: EGO is a Full Album and MAP OF THE SOUL: SELF is a compilation Album.
I know I love these boys but after seeing this I fall even more for BTS...I didnt know I can fall in love over and over again each time deeper and deeper ..like the bottomless ocean. Special.credit to RM, Suga and JHOPE I am.soooo proud of you guys, to take the questions and answer it intelligently and gracefully, giving value to.your work is mind blowing!!
The French photographer recently made a written statement clarifying that BTS did not plagiarise his work (honestly, the timing is kinda hilarious but I'm glad he put it out in the open for every one to see). Ik life is that easy we always have ups and downs but u are army we can fight together as a family .. prove the people who bullied u that ur strong enough to fight them back, no matter how hard life may be but come on we should never give up cuz we are family u don’t have to know all the things about BTS boys to become army you just have to love them wholeheartedly and do good and good will come to u. Until 24th February 2016 I thought I’m a loser and I can’t fight back haters when they call me fat but now I am just bashing them all so stay strong and being a fat girl is not at all wrong fam. If u guys are being bullied for being like that just tell them (I love u and thxs for telling that ) cuz if u tell that they would be literally ashamed of them self and they would never bully u again never again we should take decisions fast cuz we are the one who’s going to suffer and I’m really happy that I’m part of BTS army since 5 years and I just literally woke up with a huge smile every single day with our any regret

Rap Monster comes from Ilsan, Gyeonggi-d. RM also has a younger sister who is of Jungkook’s age. He was an extremely smart child with an IQ of 148 points. Originally he did not know what he was passionate about, so his parents told him to study hard so he could do whatever he wanted. So RM studied really hard and even ranked in the top 1% of the nation, and had a very high TOIEC score as well. He had no dreams and that’s why relayed that into BTS’ debut song “No More Dream” encouraging youngsters to find their dream. But later he did realise what he wanted to do, he would scribble lyrics in his textbooks and soon began rapping underground and seeing these videos Bang PD was inspired by him to make a hip/hop group in his newly formed company!

Jin
Jin comes from quite a wealthy family,Jin was a Kongguk University student ( a very prestigious college) for an acting degree. On his way to college he was street cast because of his stunning visuals by BigHit, but Jin had also received offers from SM, one of the big 3, because of that beautiful face. He chose to join BigHit and is now part of the current BTS lineup we see today.
He’s the best older brother one could ever get
Suga
Suga came from Daegu, and was an underground rapper and producer. His family wasn’t very supportive and well off so there were even days when he would trade off between eating a cheap noodle meal or taking the bus. Originally he only wanted to be a producer/songwriter with the intentions of making money, his priority was never fame. He somehow ended up auditioning with BigHit and was part of the early plans of the company to be a hiphop/rap group. He also struggled with depression, and faced abundant hardships to make it to where he is now. His Agust D mixtape provides unfiltered insights into his life before they became the gigantic stars they are now!

Jhope
Hobi comes from Gwangju and apparently his father was a Korean Literature professor, he also has an older sister. He was a student of a dance academy there along with BAP Zelo. Jhope was a popular dancer in the underground dance scene and also performed as part of a group called NEURON. Hobi also auditioned for big companies like JYP with some prominent faces in the KPOP indutry. He was only a dancer and was originally signed up as a singer, and had never rapped before when he joined BigHit!

Jimin
Jiminie is a Busan boy ! He studied at Busan Arts High school and was apparently student president for 11 years, along with maintaining fantastic grades while pursuing contemporary dance. Teachers loved him and were enthralled by his dedication to his studies, since most Arts students would neglect subjects like math unlike Jimin.

V
V was born in Daegu but was brought up in Geochang. He comes from quite a poor family of farmers. He also has 2 younger siblings. V used to play the saxophone and originally went to support a friend to audition for BigHit but was chosen instead. Not much about his past is often talked about unlike members like Suga.

Jungkook
Jungkook was a flippant (in his own words) boy in Busan. He has an older brother Jeon Junghyun. His family is full of artists, and he often says he would’ve been an artist if not a singer. He auditioned for Kpop Star when he was 15, although he didn’t pass the audition, an odd backstage clip became popular and he was offered to join 6-7 companies. Jungkook ended up choosing BigHit because he was a fan of RM’s video, and that’s how he ended up in BTS. Fun Fact: Jungkook was critiqued for his dance lacking emotion, so was sent to LA for six months to train and his potential really exploded after that. He almost gave up singing to dance but was coerced by Jimin to “come back to his senses” and take on an important vocal position.
Youngest but good at everything 😍💪
Every member worked every single minute to achieve their goals and dreams and on they way they made such beautiful family who support them wholeheartedly to the core I really love u army fam 😍😍 just never give up on your dreams and if u are not getting support from family just leave if u want to be the one you want go and prove it.. u may not achieve ur dreams in one day it one year but one day u will and make sure u do go and choose your dreams correctly and never hurt a person with or without knowing do not expect anything more just live u one and only one life as u like be your own master and never change yourself for one 💜💪
