15vs15 80-minute game 40min a side. The play that you seen when the guys get lifted in the air is called a line-out. Means for a restart after ball goes out over the touchline. The other way to restart is a scrum. This normally happens when the ball gets knocked on forwards, then teams set for a scrum. It's a kinetic sport so they don't stop like nfl does. Great reaction and welcome to world of rugby.
You have rugby in America already! A professional league called Major League Rugby which consists of eleven teams, plus a national side called The Eagles. The National team have just won three matches in a row. Both the women’s and men’s World Cup are scheduled to come to USA over the next few years too!
The Rugby World Cup is hosted by the USA in 2031.. plenty of time to a fully fledged fan of if you are young enough and want to give rugby a crack, see if you can find a local team and go have some fun. You’ll never return to NFL Welcome to rugby I don’t know where you are from in the States, but you may also be lucky to have an MLR team in our near your city.
Just to let you know that Rugby is played in the USA. It was first played in 1874. The teams were Harvard v’s McGill. Over 2,500 clubs around the USA. Professional club competition has existed since 2017, as Major League Rugby. MLR. Google will give you more information about USA Rugby.
Rugby is the fastest growing sport in the US, there are over 900 college rugby teams in the US and growing there are also about 2,000 + high school and U19 teams in the US.
In rugby when a player is ejected they are not replaced. So the whole team carries that penalty because now they have to play with less men on the field
Definitely check out Rugby's hardest hits , most Southern Africans have played at school and for clubs , a lot stop playing due to injury few make it to playing for their country . Good video bro 👍
US has a national rugby team that competes internationally. If I'm not mistaken, they are called the US Eagles. Welcome to the world of rugby. Greetings from South Africa, home of the current ranked nr 1 team and world champs, the Springboks
How people score a point (try) the ball has to be over the line by the posts your feet don’t have to be touching the “zone” the ball has to touch it so when that dude dived and scored a try with one hand that’s insane 😊
You should watch the USMLR... Their next season starts again in March. Find your local team, give them some support, maybe go to some of the games and record the experience ;)
Just to help your understanding of the sport - you can only pass the ball backwards - You can kick it forwards, but the receiving player must be behind the kicker as the ball is kicked.
Welcome to rugby. You’re going to love it. And you will get addicted to it. There are so many places to start, but as I’ve read others say, see what your local MLR team is, and see if you can go down and watch them play once the new season starts. The MLR has had 6 seasons and the quality has grown remarkably over that time and it is now starting to permeate into the t national team, as I’m sure is called the Eagles. It’s good to see more and more Americans taking on rugby and staring to take it Serious. You also host the 2031 World Cup and I firmly believe that if the MLR keeps the momentum it has gained that the USA Eagles won’t just be there to fill the numbers come 2031. They’ll be in it to win it Once the big TV networks start jumping on the band wagon, you can fully expect the sport to truely kick off big time over there. I think Americans have an appetite and eagerness for something new and exciting. No, I don’t think or believe rugby will ever be bigger than the NFL. But it doesn’t need to be. With near 350 million people, we only need 10%, which is 35 million followers. If 10% of that plays rugby, from grassroots to professional, that’s 3,5 million people. And then there is no reason why the USA couldn’t become the new super power in Rugby. Most of us, have been eagerly awaiting the Sleeping Giant to wake up. And some of us have been dreading that and whispering to ourselves, please stay asleep. lol With the sporting talent there, it’s scary to think what you can become. And I think the age is ripe for the picking, with you tubers like yourself, exposing the sport to a new audience. Well done you. Fun fact… the first ever international rugby matches, occurred between Rhe USA and Canada and then the USA held the Olympic gold medal which they won in 1928 and then again in 1932 and rugby was retired until they introduced the 7’s format of the game back into the Olympics in 2016 So technically speaking , the USA is still the current holders of the gold for the 15 man side of the sport. There is so much to say, and so much for you to learn, that I can’t possibly write here, but a good start would be to look up a) the Laws of Rugby Union and secondly, and one that I would request you do a reaction to… Rugby: a Gentleman’s game You’ll learn what rugby is all about. So America has been playing rugby for quite some time, but they seem to really seem to struggle to get to the top 10 and any team from Tier 1 Nations are likely to demolish USA Eagles... So if you can get into the team and make that difference, then I would be great to see. Enjoy your rugby journey

Fun Fact: the word try comes from the word tri that use to mean 3 points. only later when scoring was increased to 5 points they called it a try. so whenever your attacking you are trying to score and when you succeed you scored a try. just clever word play to keep with traditional terms sounding the same.
