  • Taiwan has many abandoned dogs, but did you know some of them are given better lives in other countries? Since 2012, the Taiwanese charity Mary’s Doggies sent nearly 2,000 dogs abroad to their adoptive families mainly in the U.S., Canada, Holland and Germany. Because of the COVID-19 travel restrictions, however, there have been few flights or passengers to accompany the dogs to fly overseas, so many of them have been unable to begin new lives with their adoptive families. Take a look at the lucky few who were able to fly out recently and contact Mary’s Doggies at www.marysdoggies.org or on Facebook / marysdoggies if you would like to help.

My wife and I are the very fortunate adopters of one of these wonderful dogs. He was found in a leg hold trap and his rescuers (possibly your group) took him and attended to his injury. His right front leg had to be amputated and was done nicely. He found his way to Western Canada and we found his picture on the Pet Finders website, arranged to meet him and fell in love with him. We were assessed and it was determined that we could provide a good home for him. He is healthy, happy and more than a bit spoiled with my wife and I. Thank you for what you do!

We just adopted two Taiwanese dogs (maybe foxhound and Formosan), and they are wonderful. They are brothers, and the adoption process through the Life of Hope Foundation was fantastic. Also very affordable thanks to the people who donate to the charities. We love Guy and Gary and are having so much fun with them!

I was in Hualien the other day and there were some friendly dogs by the beach. There was this kind lady that feeds them pretty much daily. I wish I could bring them home to the states with me.
