    That bike was $895 new if my 65yo memory still serves me. How do I know? It was my dream bike but remember, that translates to about $5600.00 in today's dollars and was just too rich for a 17yo kid making $1.75 an hour. Beautiful...

      Yes they were a steal. I bought a 1972 in 1973 that had 150 miles on it. We were in the service and the guy got married. I paid $500 for it.

    I had a 71 CL 450 back in the late seventies, rode the crap out of that bike. It was one of the most dependable vehicles I have ever owned. Nice find on the 350.

    Lol my older brother had 72 cl. He also bought 1 & rebuilt it & rode it for a couple years. I remember ridding on the back. Then I rode it & compared to my Dr 500 I had it was like a mini bike w / no suspension 😝. Still a great bike ! Nice color !

    I’ve got a 1971 CL-350 that I ride back and forth from Bristol CT to Middletown where I work (60 miles round trip) The one thing I can say is it’s not exactly a highway bike. I did go up one tooth on the front sprocket which helped a bit, but cruising speed is only around 60-65. On backroads is where the bike is really in its element 👍

      I bought a 1972 in 1973 when I was stationed in Maine in the 1970s. I used to ride it to Hebron, Ct some and it is definitely not a highway bike. A few of us in the squadron had these and they were a fun bike along the roads of the Maine coast. I sold mine to a guy in Colchester in 1977. I used to ride mine to P&WA in Middletown right after I got out of the service.

      @@ericwanderweg8525 That’s pretty cool. I only worked there a few years in the late 1970s before I moved to Alaska. I worked on the assembly floor. My oldest brother, my Dad and Granddad all retired from there. The all had the same name except the Jr Sr and the 3rd on the end of their name. Also a friend of mine growing up was an engineering supervisor.Factory work wasn’t for me so I moved to Alaska. Not a very good place to ride motorcycles, but we do have a UTV and snowmobile. We already have close to two feet of snow on the ground and it was -2F this am.

      @@Chris_at_Home Yeah it’s always a family affair here at Pratt it seems. Alaska is beautiful, I have family around Anchorage and Fairbanks and have spent several weeks up there during the salmon runs. My grandfather had a couple cabins in Delta Junction up until he passed 21 years ago. Nice area. I would go back eventually, possibly to retire even.

    • @Chris_at_Home
      @Chris_at_Home 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@ericwanderweg8525 Yes Pratt seems to be a family thing. My wife’s Dad and her brother both retired from there also.
      We.have a couple places including a cabin only accessible by snowmobile or ATV. It’s like a house with solar system and running water in the summer. We melt snow in the winter there. Our home is about 10 miles from Wasilla. I retired from a large communications company up here as a technician.

    Has it been sold yet? If not how much? I had 1973 CL 125 same color as this one. I hit a car head on. My dad made it look new again and when I got out of the hospital he made me ride it up and down the road. About that time my drove up put it in the back of his truck and drove off. I loved that motorcycle. I was 15 years old then and I’m 62 now. Be a fun bike to ride around.

    I have a 73 I love it. Some bastards stole it and completely destroyed it by stripping off the paint and cutting up the wiring harness after the cops found it I was so sad but I have managed to put it back together and make it really nice again of course the paint job is gone and I had to get new side covers

    this must be a British import as it has twin tailpipes the American version had the big oblong spark arrestor fitted. they are great bikes to own and run, nice simple air-cooled 4T twin straight out the CB its a tried and tested engine that hasn't really been bettered, today's produce more BHP and are faster but everything is a compromise, what you gain here you loose there and so on, will today's LC high revving machines be sought after in 50 years time like these are, I doubt it,
