But Gordon is just simply a better player in every aspect of the position, Harry is more like Golladay who needs 5 contested targets per game.

I say move him to TE.He is strong enough and did 28 reps of 225 at 6'3 228.He should add like 17 lbs and move to TE.CBs are better athletes than other defenders and dealing woth worse CBs,Linebacackers and strong safeties is easier to get seperation on.OFcourse TEs have to deal with a lot more head banging and car crashes and also blocking but once he learns how to deal with physicality he might be a Delaine Walker,Jonnu Smith type of player.WRs are among the most elite athletes and Harry is not an elite elite athlete.Moving to TE might save his career.A 650 yds 7 TDs season for a TE is like a pro bowl level top 10 TE and Harry canbe used as a recieving TE that creates matchups and moves around to start as a TE2 but not a true Y.Like Brevin Jordan who entered this draft.

Nooo. The biggest reason for high pick draft busts is the player is tired of the game. The draft and big contract is anticlimatic and they realize they are bored with the game. They dont tell anyone because of the money. This is it. Its not complicated. Some get more excited about the NFL and their game picks up like Edelman at New England. But people do burn out after the years of the college grind. Some guys loose the spark and some dont loose the spark. I have had guys in the NFL tell me this. The NFL knows that you cannot measure this or predict it. That is why alot of rookie contracts are no longer huge. You cannot predict whaaaat is going on upstairs.
He is way too tentative for his size at WR. He slows down and balls up when contact is coming. I think injuries hurt his confidence but he has the tools to be successful.
@@patriotskingnation8084 getting yelled at for not being able to get open shouldn’t hurt your confidence being an nfl wr and not being able to get open should hurt your confidence
Patriots break wide receivers. The patriots offensive book is the most complicated thing in all the football, for each route you run, you have an option based off of a multitude of individual factors such as number of steps you run out, the type of defender you’re going up against, the position of the defender, what the play called for, what your teammates are doing on that play, and potentially what two or three other individuals around you might be doing. Oh yeah, and most importantly you also need to pick the route that the quarterback thinks you’re going to pick, and you have to do all of this in two seconds flat. Veteran wide receivers who have been playing football for years tend to be the only ones who can do well in that system, or converted quarterbacks lol Harry is going to get traded and have an opportunity to be explosive somewhere else, I hope he revives his career
That just sounds like the WR job description in the nfl lmao. If he couldn’t figure it out after 2 years in the nfl with patriots then idk man it’s curtains for this guy
@@manuelastoria679 most offenses in the nfl are much simpler than the patriots. They run some option plays for their receivers, but not nearly as many. Not as many pre snap motions. Not as many variables for a single player to remember. Not as large a play book. There is a reason that so many receivers wash out there. You were right about one thing. This guy clearly didn’t put in the time to learn it and to use your own words is “washing out” of NE. But hey you stick to your “articles” and I’ll stick to watching the game.
The good thing is those are things Harry can work towards. There are skills you can't just learn. Reading NFL tackles and angels for example to generate YAC is something you can develop. It just takes longer than for example to learn coverage alignments.
I don’t think he’s a bust just yet. He’s been there during perhaps the biggest adjustment period in recent pro sports for any team. He’ll end up being alright.

I am still holding out hope, i will give up after this year. Injured rookie year for 10 games, Cam/Covid sophomore year, his confidence is effed right now I think, but who knows what he could like with the 3rd or 4th cb on him.
He’s not a bust. He played in the two most difficult seasons for the Patriots in the last 20 years. Two seasons ago he played with a moody Brady that wanted a proven receiving corps and not wait to develop Meyers, Harry and Olzewski. Last year he played with a renewed Patriots team without a good offseason and without training a lot. Hopefully he stays and lets give him this season to see if he’s able to beat the odds.
“A moody brady” 😂😂😂 it’s the nfl. Either you get it together or you get out. Look at Justin Jefferson. He had Kirk freaking cousins and put up 1k yards his first year. Just accept it, he’s a bust. And before you say it was a “rebuild year for the patriots” cam Newton is no Tom Brady but he’s no bumb boy either.
well i mean kenny golladay doesnt make separation but he is good nkeal harry doesnt jump up and make those kind of catches if he wants to be good he needs to be like kenny golladay
The first thing stated in the video about Harry is that he was drafted where he was because he could make people miss and get extra yardage. That's not what I had heard about him. His main stated upside was his ability to leverage size to get 50/50 balls.
I think it’s too much to call him a bust. He still hasn’t had a training camp and has only played like 20 games and had no one else on the offense to open things up
Nah bro, he's a bust. The fact that he HASN'T played more than like 20 games speaks to the fact that he's a bust. Can't stay healthy, isn't the big body downfield threat we need.
The problem is not your evaluation, the problem is the person who's drafted. There are some who wants to give their all and become great, and then there's the ones who just in it for the money.
As a ravens fan. I don’t want him. He’s gonna go against marlon Humphrey and marcus peters in practice and face them. He’s not gonna be able to opt out like a bitch. Just like he opted out vs Patrick surtain that same week. Greedy for money, doesn’t separate. And is 6’2 NOT 6’4.
Im an LSU fan and terrance marshall doesn’t depend on making guys miss. He’s a physical route runner that hi points balls and doesn’t drop balls. Not s shifty guy at all. Like a more athletic colston.
DK, Mclaurin, Samuel, AJ Brown, and Slayton were all drafted after him.. and that's not even mentioning Renfrow, Hardman, Miller, and Fulgham who have all been better and shown more promise so far.
He’s not an NFL receiver he’s a damn TE, guarantee he’d be unstoppable against LB’s Nd Safeties. NFL corners are way to quick & FAST for his style of play. Yea he might be good lined up against a mid tier WR on OCCASION but he definitely gonna get his ass handed to him by any ELITE CB.
This opened my eyes because I've been a big fan of him and you brought up some good points but the patriots are using him wrong and cam newton purely sucks, not to mention he was injured half of his career.
In the nfl making someone miss is alot more about speed than it is in college because if u are really fast u can do ur move farther away from the player which is important because NFL players are faster and take better angles. In the nfl u need the speed and quickness to make people miss cuz ur not going to be breaking a lot of crappy arm tackles like Harry did. Only players like Derrick Henry are able to break tackles without elite speed and quickness(like how Ezekial Elliot has issues now cuz his speed has gone down considerably). I think if Harry was taken in the 3rd round and he was a teams 4th option or redzone option no one wud be complaining about him cuz he wud be doing his job well.
He was drafted because of his size and physical talents. Bellichick mentioned in an off-season press conference about the state of WR's and Harry "tic'd" off all of those things he mentioned that he was looking for. Harry was a 2nd or 3rd round prospect at best. As I replied to another poster, unless Harry works on his footwork he will be searching for teams on a yearly basis. Each team believing they can "fix him." Honestly I think he can make it but he needs to see a specialist to work on his (short and medium) routes and (red zone/sideline) foot work.
He’s not one of these small receivers where he can be quick and shifty. Just throw it up and give him 50/50 balls . Not throwing him crossing routes and screens like he’s Julian Edelman or something
N’Keal Harry’s biggest problem is because of the horrible fit. New England’s offense is filled of option routes & dudes that can seperation, Harry is the opposite, not a Super Route Runner & could NOT get separation.
As a Pats fan I'd def call him a bust. He's not fast and is bad at running routes. I don't think I can recall a single time of Harry separating by himself. Separating is probs the most important trait for a wr imo
I don't understand how a guy that big can't get an initial box out off the line of scrimmage. There are some guys who are not fast but can make an initial juke off the line to just get enough separation and body out the defender. Especially in short yardage or near the goal line. I would also just do some high point passes near the sideline or the endzone, just to try help the guy get more comfortable or confident and see if it works
The best WRs are the ones who can win routes on the outside with technique and efficiency and are consistent at winning contested catches. Devonta Smith will be the best and most productive WR. Dude is a straight football player.
He's only been in the league two years. Brady was notorious for short leashing his rookie wideouts, always been a vets QB. Not to say Harry would've been lights out otherwise, but it's a factor. Also, in the TB/BB era, who have the Patriots drafted and developed at WR into long term, productive receivers for the team other than Julian Edelman? They never stick in NE. Then Brady left, Harry's 2nd year was this Covid season with infrequent, inconsistent practices, A new QB who signed late and promptly caught Covid then never really had a chance to get familiar with the offense.. the list goes on. Now that the Pats have what should be a dangerous offense, Harry should get some better looks against lesser competition as the 4th or 5th option. This season is his last chance to show hes deserves to be here, hopefully he breaks out
Belichick drafts guys that are polished and that is the opposite in what you need in a star WR. they need to have an edge to them. that's why belichick cant draft WRs
I remember being excited about my Patriots getting Harry at the last selection after winning the Super Bowl. I knew how great he was with ASU where I was living at the time. too bad he turned out to be a bust. 😔
Making defenders "miss" is an essential aspect of football from the 1st time we see it done till Deebo does it in training camp next week. The point isn't exactly nailed showing one play...The Dolphins secondary is top 5 in the league and Brady could have made better throws in both clips. It is good that you took a negative and still learned plus grew from it! Harry's not a bust so he can still learn and grow.
@@account2292 That is a complete joke ! The Pats ARE the bust . Harry was far to good (much better than Aiyuk was for AZ) in school to give up on him now . WRs have for over 70 years been allowed 4 full years to develop before anyone could ever write them off . Everyone said the exact same things about Davante Adams but year 4 and ever since he is probably the best WR in football . Harry had Cam as a QB and was injured through his rookie season with Brady . What do you want from him ?
@ashton luck SO DUMB ! People like you are not smart enough to be football fans. WR take 4 full years to develop ! Jordy Nelson is looking at a possible hall of fame career . He did not have higher than 600 yards in a season until he was in his 4th season . Davante Adams was bad until his 4th year now he is the best WR in the game. WRs do not come into the NFL ready to be superstars most of the time. You have the occasional rookie WR who makes a big splash but more often than not they take 4 years to develop! Harry is going to be a star in this league.
Again, thx for the retrospective analysis. Consider extended your critique of YOUR past analyses to others than you. What about the professional GM's who trade up for Trubiskey when Mahomes is available, for example? Or something like why the Pats have passed on so many stud/star wide receivers, picking instead dud defensive secondary players...
Also, the ability to make people miss points to your agility and awareness which is something the sport values. Solid lateral movement within skill positions is always favored. The clip you showed had 4 dolphin players rallying to him. To make a play as a rookie (against xavien Howard btw) in that situation would be unlikely for anyone.

Nah. Simple answer is that the Patriots don’t know how to develop jump-ball type receivers. He’s not a route specialist which is what McDaniels is using him as. Also, he only gets like 2 targets per game while having a ton of separation. Unfair situation for Harry
I'm not giving up on Harry, he still has great hands. He just needs to get his footwork right. Patriots offense is catered to quick route running recievers, they have never been able to develop bigger recievers out of college. Frankly they don't have have WR coach on staff that can get the best out of Harry. Their offense is great at what they do, also they've been running that system for 20 plus years. Maybe a change of scenery is what he needs, or maybe the Patriots should start using him as a possession receiver. Training camp and Preseason will soon come and we'll find out then.
N'Keal Harry has now had two full seasons and most of a third to learn the playbook, and he still hasn't done it. Christian Fauria last year called him "maybe the worst route-runner in the history of the world", saying that "even when he's open, he's covered" because he has absolutely no clue how to find voids in coverage. Eight receptions this season in nine games for 117 yards. If anything, he's even worse now that he was a year ago. Yeah, I think it's time for the Pats to cut bait. I know they still have him on the books for one more year guaranteed, but they can't afford to waste playing time on this guy.
Honestly wanted the cardinals to draft him that year but looking back now , glad they didn't... it's not saying much since they drafted Andy Isabella, KeeSean Johnson, and another wide out from Iowa State can't remember his name somethin Hakeem .. while Seattle was able to steal DK Metcalf 😑
Hakeem Butler. I don’t know what happened to him I thought he was going to be a beast. Teams don’t just release 6’5” sub 4.5-40 receivers for any reason
Too soon to be a bust 🤦🏾♂️ he’s a slow receiver and can’t separate from average corners he’s already a bust y’all gotta be joking 🙃 plus this offense is no where near a fit for him
At 2:30 in this video you said you are worried about drafting WR that make people miss???????? That the point of the game to make the other miss. Clearly you never played WR at any level.
I don't think he is or was ever a good fit for the Patriots. However, I do believe him and Cam were building on something before covid. I think he can shine in the #2 role. Also, the thing about the WRs who make it happen in space is they are getting the ball while they are moving. Tyreke Hill probably the only one who consistently creates space and missed tackles from 0 movement.
It's not perfectly clear but around the 2min mark where you mentioned not being able to see who was blocking the DB circled in black, I'm pretty sure ASU was playing with 10 men on the field
I think your eval/explanation on NKeal in this video....as well as how the Patriots must have viewed him is way off ( basing that pats opinion on how they've used him). That's just my honest opinion. You were right in my opinion with your original assessment. First, I'll say it...I'm a Patriots fan...but I'm honest and don't sugarcoat anything to make the Patriots look good . Let me start by saying...the Patriots were in some trouble in the offensive weapons category heading into the 2019 season. We had just lost Gronk to retirement so we had no big bodied red zone threats left, no one who .ca go get it and fight for it. We had route runners and slot guys. I did not expect bill to address this, I figured he would do his usual defensive back in the first round shit...so when we selected Harry...I was ecstatic!! I never saw what you saw/see in him...I don't see someone running routes, getting free in the open field and breaking it for huge yards....is he capable ? Of course. But what I saw in NKeal was exactly what we were missing. I was so pumped to think about Brady throwing them up and having NKeal come down with them. Just the thought of him being that big bodied presence had me enthusiastic. I saw that in Harrys film, the tough catches, one handed catches, contested catches. I saw someone who fought for that ball...and won. They use him like he is supposed to be used...and the route running and getting free in the open field will happen too...but he isn't explosive enough off the line to be a route running wide receiver 100% of the time. When New England never created any plays for Harry...and just kept the same ol screen passes, slot receiver based passing attack in place for him I was pissed. Run plays down the seam or quick slant to the corner of the end zone so he can come down with it kind of like they did with gronk. But if New England continues to not use Harrys strengths as a reciever....well they just wasted a draft pick, wasted Harry's time as well as the team's time. I do not understand why they or anyone really can't see Harry's true strengths. I don't know why everyone expects him to be the next Welker/Jules/Amendola. I don't think Harry's gotten a fair shot and the blame and criticism he gets is not even close to fair. They briefly started using him properly in 2020 ...that game against Seattle he had like 7 catches for 80 yards...cam was allowing him to go up and get it.....showed trust in Nkeal....it was nice to see. Tom never trusted NKeal, and I truly feel Tom was mentally gone, checked out in 2019...so not that young receivers ever get much love or trust from Tom...but 2019 was even worse from that aspect. After the Seattle game, I was ready for a breakout stretch...but instead it went back to the dumb screen passes and Jules routes for Harry. It has become increasingly difficult and frustrating to watch it unfold. I get real mad real quick at those play calls and just lack of intelligence when it comes to evaluating what you have in a player and how to use them properly. I hope 2021 is the year New England realises the talent they have in NKeal....and start executing game plans or plays centered around those talents.
He’s not a busy. If you don’t have enough opportunity you won’t have a chance to be fairly judged on your ability. I don’t feel New England have him enough opportunities. Patriots offense was geared around the run more recently.
Don't beat your self up. Cam Newton is a shell of himself & could not make throws. harry had 33 receptions with that pitiful pass offense last year. Yes, harry is not a #1 or #2, but 1. Contrary to what everyone thinks, I do not think Newton will start (look at his back up contract) and 2. The Pats will have better QB play THIS year. BTW, Bill never plays QB's there 1st two years (unless forced). Stidham checks every box that the Pats are looking for. They will not draft a QB in round 1. Bill protected the kid from a terrible roster. Unlike the Jets, Bill won't throw a young QB out there with a terrible roster.
Towards the end of the 2021 season and he’s not getting any better. Pats will most likely let him go after this year, and he’ll get bounced around from a few teams and practice squads and then fade from memory
The only thing that might keep him around -- maybe -- is that he still has one more season, guaranteed, on his rookie contract. Frankly, though, I'm with you and I want the Pats to wash their hands of him.

@@erikpuka2627 So basically like a hybrid TE kinda what Pitts was ?
Idk if the pats can use him in that focus even though we're going to be running 12 personnel offense a ton.
It would make sense to move him to TE though. I would trade him for a 4th rounder. AZ offense is built for him to succeed because he wouldn't be the first 3 options.
@ashton luck sounds like hate 😂😂
@ashton luck well he is like their 5th best WR so there is no point in keeping him there either.Bourne,Agholor,Meyers are all better.Edelman was way better and so was Byrd.He should find his luck elsewhere

In this "one more year" he will have to contend with Agholor, the wr from the 49ers, Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry. All of them were signed this year to contracts bigger than they earned with the possible exception of Henry (if he can stay on the field).

I’m giving him this season to decide on him being a bust. See if he can produce with a decent set of decoys around.
Veteran wide receivers who have been playing football for years tend to be the only ones who can do well in that system, or converted quarterbacks lol
Harry is going to get traded and have an opportunity to be explosive somewhere else, I hope he revives his career
You don’t know.

The good thing is those are things Harry can work towards. There are skills you can't just learn. Reading NFL tackles and angels for example to generate YAC is something you can develop. It just takes longer than for example to learn coverage alignments.

He still hasn’t had a real shot his missed most his rookie season and the whole offense sucked last year I still believe in him
He has no separation at all. First round pick was a complete reach for the patriots
well i mean kenny golladay doesnt make separation but he is good nkeal harry doesnt jump up and make those kind of catches if he wants to be good he needs to be like kenny golladay

If the pats drafted aj brown or DK… would Brady still play for them?
I can’t listen to people who don’t even know the name of zones or concepts that the offense is running 😑
But doesn't every pass play in the book require the receiver to get separation and catch the ball - N'Keal doesn't do either well in the NFL.

Did you know if dk was drafted by the pats instead of nkeal. Dk would also be called a bust as btoh of them don’t fit in josh McDaniels offense
Like you have to be either fast or a savy route runner and if you're both then you're going places!
If Harry went to the 49ers he would be just fine.
I agree as they would probably use him properly unlike the patriots
*We all gunna forget about the Patriots TRADING pick #64 to the Seahawks for DK Metcalf?🤬🤦🏼♂️*
@ashton luck I can honestly say that he's just bad with wideouts
I'm glad you finally changed the wording of the titles for this series lol.

I'm pretty sure no one actually considered him a 1st round pick except for the pats they just took a risk and failed

Doesnt matter, Metcalf should have been picked before harry
It’s so weird how only certain players have success in NE. But on another note, what happened to the music at the end? I used always groove to it haha
Again, thx for the retrospective analysis. Consider extended your critique of YOUR past analyses to others than you. Look around the league, there’s no team that’s drafts well it’s hit and miss for everyone.

Not last Thursday. Play it slow. Terrible play for a WR. ruclips.net/video/EHzyx-9ntd4/видео.html

N'Keal Harry has now had two full seasons and most of a third to learn the playbook, and he still hasn't done it.
Do one on Jalen Reagor
he's still young, he can still develop
@@MikeHL78 trade him for a 3 round draft pick
