Dear Prassanna, its good that you have asked this question. Lot of entry level electrical students have the same doubt. I suppose you are also an entry level individual and newbie to our channel. Because if you would have watch this video ruclips.net/video/HvfCTCv7wlI/видео.html then you would have got the reality. Anyways you can continue following our channel for more such clarifications.
Sir, this is the first time i am learning through your channel.. and really i loved the way u explained and really i got crystal 🔮 clear understanding about this topic.. thanq so much sir ❤
Hi, another point i can add to this concept of SC and OC test OC test We can do OC test on HV side * OC test depends on voltage *Connecting leds( wires) insulation should be more because we are going to give high voltage to transformer (**Cost consideration) * as per IS no load current should be less than 2 or 3 % of rated current, so If we do OC test on HV side we need low range ammeter for accurate current reading. We can Do SC test LV side * LV test depends on current *Connecting leds( wires) conductor size should be more because we are going to give high current to transformer (**Cost consideration) I think these points also valid..
Sir, if you say we can't test t/f having high rated voltage like 400V then how we test step down transformers ?? For that as well we require high voltage value.. Please clarify. Thank you
Im not agree with you sir, for the both oc and sc tests. In oc test ur 1st reason is correct and the 2nd reason is not applicable to our present developed technology, becoz we can measure the current with digital leakage current testers very precisely, 0.0001A also we can measure accurately. so i m not agree with the 2nd reason in the oc test. And in sc test also, we can easily apply HV with low current compare to LV with high current. HV with low current instrument manufacturing is less costlier than LV with high current. And low current with HV needs low diameter cable compare to High current with LV. So finally its not about the measuring instruments, its purely about easy power applying and less power wastage.
Good to hear dear upendra, i guess you are aware of the fact that Digital era has begun a decade back, So i appreciate if you focus on 1st reason being a modern day engineer. And it is said in the video that its purely depends on the availability of the instruments. Hope things are clear :)
@@ThePiSquareAcademy yes sir i absolutely agree with your 1st reason. And as you said we are in modern era of ET, so my request is to please add the modern development details also in that particular topic of video your making Tq sir, your channel is helping alot electrical engineers like me

Hi sir, I have a question from my experiment. 1) Why OC test cannot be conducted using half of rated voltage 2) Why SC test cannot be conducted using half of rated current One of my lecturer gave me a hint to look at simplified equivalent circuit. I can't find any answers online. Pls help
Sir notation for transformers should be in phase, neutral not +,-
Too many students r watching u sir...
Offcourse phase means +, neutral means -.

We cannot generalise this ... bcoz a moving iron type instrument having non-uniform scale can be used to measure both AC as well as DC.
So can you please think, why your laboratory buying PMMC(DC) instruments at all.
Hi, another point i can add to this concept of SC and OC test
OC test
We can do OC test on HV side

Basic concept
Insulation level depends on voltage and conductor size depends on current
Hi sir
Welcome back!
Missed your why series qns. Please continue uploading
Sure dear, more you share more we publish

Excellently explained...very useful information...thanks a lot sir...
Thank you srinivas, consider sharing the video with your friends
I always get amazed with your videos🤩
Happy to hear that! Visit lectures.pi2.in/ and get a free trial course
H V side 400 voltage but its impedance high according to no, of turns then why is current 0,5
What is aim and purpose of conducting oc and sc test?
Help me with your answer
to test the efficiency of the transformer , I think
To findout the core and copper losess.
Good concept sir 👍
Please neutral current of transformer and effects of it on connected load
Sir why voltmeters are connected in parallel and ammeters in series
Why should we go for less Current rating in this case the lv side ..Anyway we are applying no load current How the current rating affect the test
Your question is not clear dear, can you please give the clarity on the question?
What about Digital Ammeter instead of Analogue Ammeter.!?
I understood oc test but still my doubt is not cleared ...in Sc test how 10% of rated voltage is able to circulate full load currents ...
It's good information for the students upto diploma but it's not well enough.... I expected much...
Clear explanation 👍
Mind blowing 😇
Very good explanations sir you are next level
Pleased to hear that, sharing of the video is appreciated dear.
Thank you sir
You are great sir
Cristal clear ❤️

How the Current varies with applied voltage Kindly clear the basics for me
Sir can we dc ammeter for measuring the AC current or vice versa
God Bless
You cannot explain the reason clearly.
Phase and neutral are the notations of transformer not +and-
