Have had osteoporosis for 4 yrs now (4 dexa test/one per year). Hips and Neck have improved or stayed the same, but the spine gets worse every year. I'm so glad to see exercises specifically for the spine. Seeing these makes me realize that most of my exercises were for my legs. I'll be adding these to my routine. Thanks so much.
Just been diagnosed with osteopenia so I’ve come straight back to your website for the correct info!! Have recommended you to so many people! Thank you!!
What are some exercises you can do after a fracture. I am scared to do anything but don't want to gain weight because I am trying to allow my spine to heal like it should.
Ah, heck, you guys are such sweethearts…you can be my sons. I love both you goofy guys. You are not only good for my health but you are so funny and good for my spirit.
Hi there I love your videos. I got a compression fracture snowboarding in my T12 in January and it’s still not healed but have been advised to resume some movement. Thanks for this vid. It’s great. If you have any other recommendations that would be great as recently I’ve met many other snowboarders who have had similar injuries over the years. There are never many videos online specifically for spinal injuries due to sports. Usually it’s aimed towards elderly people with osteoporosis.
Do you guys have a reading list for physical therapy? I am interested in learning more. Like I know you have mentioned some in other videos I just can't remember what they were.
Adverts are so annoying! I love your videos… My physio has asked for an X-ray as she thinks I have a compression fracture…I have osteopenia. Greetings from the U.K.❤️
I have a compression fracture of T-12 due to 2 grand mal seizures and I will be 66 in 2 months. Please answer this question. Both shoulders have previous surgeries and they both hurt since the seizures, but the right shoulder is worse than the left. Suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot for all these exercises!! I need the ball. I have compression fract. on my vertebraes between T4-5 and T6-7 and they hurt a lot and I have a bump on my back that formed at young age since I got some things develop before time and started hiding my chest and so now I'm paying for it. So, what I want to know if still I can do these exercises without problems? since many times when I stretch too much I get sharper pain. Thanks for your help. Blessings!
Hi Gricel, I have chronic back pain and just found out I have Osteoporosis in that area.....but I am also concerned I may have compression fractures. Did you do a regular x ray to find out you had fractures or a different test? Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video, been struggling with a T6 compression fracture for 3 months and I will be trying these exercises, I am much hopeful that I can get better.
OrangePain ILikeIt hi, just wondering how you are doing now with your T6 compression fracture as I did mine about 8 weeks ago and still struggling a bit with it too, been having chiro treatments for it and it’s helping so I was keen to hear how another T6er is doing 5 months on from it. Thank you.
Hi Sir, my compression fracture is healed almost as I fell. Can I start these exercises now you are showing here. I am afraid to do exercises. Thank you
Sure wish I could lay on my stomach, I have a L3 fracture and nine broken ribs from CPR. I’m trying to you strengthen my muscles but it’s so hard to walk, breathe, move. But thank you for showing me a few that I am able to do.
I have a T12 compression fracture and osteopenia. I don’t even know how I got the compression fracture. The fracture I do have is 49% is it safe to do these exercises I will be seeing a spine specialist but I’ve been left out in the field. Basically this is what you have and now you have to wait to see a specialist. I had to leave my part-time job for a while, and my life has really been very depressing.
HI Bob & Brad, i was scheduled for a knee replacement surgery in Oct. 4th and i have osteoporosis, Doctor says Ok, please do me some advise.10 years i don't bend my right knee while walking (bone on bone). I'm 65 and still working
Melanie Nichols doing much better, thanks for asking! I went to the gym yesterday and did a bunch of stretches that were prescribed in PT. I feel much better today! I’ve been depressed because of the pain but today I feel sooo much better. I hope yours isn’t too bad. Hang in there.
Me too!! Same way..was prescribed clamshell brace to wear; did you have this and when did the physical therapy start? You have the perspective of being further into the healing process than we who have just been injured..
I have old untreated compression fractures. Car accidents , ostiopedia, some back issues since childhood. I'm 69 this month. Can old compression be fixed, cos a chiropractor just told me most likely not. I'm in a grwat deal of daily pain & the compression is interferring with be being able to stay i dependent.
I just had a wedge compression fracture (T8) would you still recommend these exercises? I'm pretty sure I've gotten it from doing jumping jacks so what can I do now that I have a fracture to try to keep my spine healthy?
I am 70 but do not have osteoporosis yet. I I took a hard fall backwards off of a low retaining wall about ten days ago and have three fractured vertebra. L 1, L2 and L5. Will they heal properly and when can I start exercising? At the moment there is too much pain.
I have a compression fracture in T12 I start PT next week can you tell me will this help and can it heal? I’m very active but guess maybe too active. I of course have osteoporosis. Thanks Bob & Brad.
I just started Pilates. Is that good for people with osteopenia? All this rolling up and downs are rounding out the spine. I'm 59 with a family history of osteoporosis.
Can these substitute for lifting weights? I get shoulder enthesitis/tendinitis with even 2-4 lb weights, but have heard that weight bearing is only way to help bones stay strong.
Can anyone share information about how they pick things up from the floor without bending over? Presumably there’s some sort of (very) long handled tongs for purchase?
Hi Bob & Brad, been subscribed for a while and you have both helped me alot. I have spondy & chronic pain that comes with it. I am currently reading a great book called Back In Action by David Hanscom MD who is a spine surgeon. Not sure if you have heard of it. I think you would find it very interesting and would love to hear your thoughts on its methods. He has a few interviews on RUclips to give you a summary. As many of your subscribers are in similar position to me I would love you to promote this book if you think if of value. I think it can be life changing and goes hand in hand the philosophy that comes across in your videos. I wish I had come across this book earlier and just hope that with your large audience you could get the word out. Thanks for helping me through the last few years especially with Brad's first hand spondy experience helped me side step surgery. In has ment alot. Tony from Australia
My t3 t4 and t5 are fractured. If the fractures occurs on the inside of the spine why is it all the pain I feel feels like it’s on the backside of spine, say if you were to touch my back that’s the side of the spine that hurts not the inside ?
Loved ur video :) Well I'm 25 yr old and got a t12 stable fracture exactly the way shown in this video due to a car accident. My doctor suggested me a 6week bed rest and it's already been 4 weeks now and my condition is somewhat ok. Can I also try these exercises or can u plz suggest some other good exercise for same? Posted the same comment in another video of urs hoping a reply in either of them soon :)
Thanks Bob and Brad. I think you guys are knowledgeable and fun. I have both osteoporosis (thoracic spine); and osteoarthritis: both hips (femur neck). Nearly everytime I do some jumping; hopping; etc. (Wolff's Law); my hips hurt. Any advice. In total I do about 24 'hops' on each leg. Star jumps I do about 15. Maybe I should reduce these a little and 'build up' allowing my hips to adjust?
Hi Bob n Brad! I just want to ask about my osteoprosis of spine n hip..T.score of my spine is _3.5 which is v high ..plz tell if I can do these exercises or not.Secondly, I am doing almost all exercises you have told.My doctor asked me to do the exercise by lying down with my face downwards raising my head upwards to improve spine posture..He says I should do exercises related to legs strengthening .
I have 6 Compression Fractures. Is it ok for me to do these exercises now or do I need to wait until the fractures have healed? Please if anyone can give me some advice on this. Thanks!!
What u can do if I do these exercise but when I do routine activity I feel pain in my back due to mulitple compression fracture in the mid of spine. What do u suggest I use hyper extension braces or surgey? Need u expert advice. And when I laying my bed the clicking sound raise inside the spine.
Guys, I would love to watch and do the exercises on many of your videos, but if you'd cut to the chase, I think many more folks with osteoporosis would be interested in your exercises and other good info. There is SO much info out here from a vast array of individuals, and there just isn't time to research it all for safety and listen to long instructions or too much extra chat. Maybe start a comedic medical channel and just make straightforward ones for those of us who are desperate for a program they can trust to help us keep from fracturing. Just a suggestion. I think your material could be useful but it's hard to follow it with all the extra stuff. Thanks.

Can you do a backbend using the exercise ball. This seems to feel great to me but just wondering if it is safe with osteoporosis.
my Os is worst at the lumbar, is it common? thanks for this. Best wishes
Will this help with degenerative osteophytic bridging of right SI joint anteriorly? Thanks

So, lifting weights is not good for a person to have a vertebra reduce in the front part, but the back side is ok. Please reply. Thanks.

Is it unsafe to do the ball stretches against the ground? Or to do bridges? Just wondering if we can take that stretch too far.
Can anyone share information about how they pick things up from the floor without bending over? Presumably there’s some sort of (very) long handled tongs for purchase?
Ann Vaughn just purchased the grabber. Inexpensive about $6. It works well.
You guys rock!
Can you do these exercises with a compression fracture ?
Dear Dr. Is cement injection good for vertebrae fracture?
Are these exercises (the hallelujah overhead exercise) okay to do if someone already has an L4 compression fracture?

What's wrong if *after* you stretch, when you go back to normal, it feels like things are being pinched, sharp pain in-between several vertebrae.
