There is now ARM support for VS code that works pretty well with the exception of some plugins not working, but overall the VS Code docs are pretty helpful and the installation is pretty much the same as this. Thanks for the video!

Since, just like yours, my password was just enter, when I try to log in, it received enter as null and says it's wrong and takes me back to the Linux login page, I can't switch to chrome os using the keys you said in the video, my chromebook is locked and I can't use it, and I use it for school please help

@@Eevnos maybe you could install vmos , it's an android vm which has root Edit : vmos doesnt work because there isnt support for x86 , i found another method called the "aroc project" but it doesnt work for chrome os versions 77 and above

But i can just copy all and then paste it inside txt(the standard text editor) and then open it the normal way

i figured it out :) there's another version to download underneath lol. if anyone gets the error about it being uninstallable, maybe u were trying to download the wrong one.

I don’t believe so. However, if you run the Linux apps through Crostini (Linux Beta) you can have the Linux app on one display with the CromeOS apps on the other.

When you enable Linux (beta) can you just use some Linux applications/stuff and keep Chrome OS, or does it remove Chrome OS and replace it with Linux (beta)?
Razar Saw you use them side by side... it’s really creating a container that Linux ‘lives’ in (very oversimplified description) so non of your ChromeOS stuff is impacted. Other than using some storage space that is.

September 2020 saw ARM builds for VSCode so it'll work on an ARM Chromebook now. Apple has just changed everything. Imagine the power savings when everyone is running power sipping laptops based on ARM or RISC-V. On the flip side though the impetus to invent better battery tech is less urgent.

after i did that i ran sudo apt upgrade and it worked perfectly

Anyone figure out how to make scrolling smooth? It's very annoying that Linux doesn't seem to utilize precision scrolling.
Do you have mouse locking and GPU acceleration on in the flags?
Both of those will help when using Linux apps.

Yep, that is another method, but it sometimes won’t grab the dependencies (even though it should).
