@@DrunkOnWanderlust yes... There's a wee diversion to make a note of, as your coming from Drumnadrochit to inverness as you head towards Abriachan. Carn na Leitire (not a huge climb) viewpoint is well worth the climb up.
Finally, got round to watching, great video kerry... 💪 You certainly embraced the weather. And YOU MADE IT 🎊🎉🎊🎉 Well done mate, sterling effort.. Great work dude. Take care ATB Dave x
Absolutely loved that Kerry, great video. I had to smile to myself on your choice of camp spot in Langstrath, I camped further up and remember passing where you pitched and thought hmmm, that would have been a nice place to camp, but to be fair it was very dry when I went past. Keep up the good work and good luck for the future. 👍 Oh, and it IS a long pull out of Keswick your Guinness probably helped!!
Hey there Alan, thanks for commenting 😁 I hope your having a good week x yeah it was just so pretty that little spot by the river, if I do it again I think I would have even camped slightly further back from there for the views in the morning ❤️
I love that walk through the Langdale Valley but carrying 20kgs...wow! Amazing achievement on hitting 4 K but very well deserved as well! So pleased you got sun to fully appreciate the beauty of Derwentwater and Mrs Metalman's favourite walk, so funny to see you in sots that we had been just a couple of weeks ago, it was have been brilliant if we had bumped into you and we had a very pleasant stop at the café at 10.39 in Portinscale. The valley walk up to Lonscale Fell is great (shame about the rain) and I came that way coming down off Skiddaw on a warm summers day last August, pity you did not have the same weather. It's Raining Blood is one my my favourite Slayer tracks, unsure if that counts..... It was such a shame the mist, rain, lack of food and broken filter, you did not deserve that but thank goodness for the bar of chocolate! I would have left my tripod too, in fact, I would not have none in there in the first place with the cows in😂. So pleased you made the train safe and sound and what a brilliant 29.29 watch that was, yes, I was with you all the way. Fantastic effort and I love your determination and positively, no matter what the challenges, cheers Alan
Awww Alan you always leave such lovely comments 🤗 yeah it would have been so fun to have met but I’m sure if we are gonna be around the same area at the same time again we will defo organise something 🙋🏼♀️ that bar of chocolate was sent from the angels lol 😂 what a find x I hope you have a lovely weekend, thanks so much for watching
Back in the old days we collected water, drained it through a muslin cloth or a pair of tights to remove the leaves etc. Then boiled it for 10mins I'd say. Maybe a little less. Let it cool down and got emergency water supply. Back in the days before Sawyers x
Hi there Clare, now on this trip I didn’t take a stove to save on weight and only took food I could eat cold so had no way of boiling the water 🤦🏼♀️ but it’s a lesson learnt for next time lol x hope your well and having a lovely weekend
Well done on you 4,000 subs, the sheep wanted to go home with you I'm sure would have been funny on the train... love that little hut though... luckily no Purple Rain!!!.. How many miles did you do in the end Kerry..?

Hey Lezley 😃🙋🏼♀️ I didn’t even take a stove on that one as I only took food I could eat cold x the purification tablets are a def for the next trip xxx thanks so much for watching
Agreed Jimbo, there were some pretty bits but overall a bit of a let down compared to the rest of the trail x still enjoyed myself though 😃 when did you do the hike?
@@DrunkOnWanderlust 2011 i did it, i am also planning the Great Glen Way, i was going to start it on the 1st of May but tore the ligaments in my left ankle so i will probably do it later this year, (itching to try my new tent lol) you have been active i see in your videos, keep it up.
Could you have been able to boil water? Rule of thumb is: below 5000 feet you only need to boil it for 1 minute. Above 5000 feet boil for 3 minutes. Filter it thru a bandana, Buff or sock to remove the big chunks.
Yes possibly, but it had a load of bits in it and it was starting to rain so didn’t fancy stopping and sorting it all 🙌 good idea to filter it through a sock though! I didn’t think of that! Thanks xxxx
You asked about your eye swelling when you camp. Just a thought, I might be wrong and it might be something different… Dixie from Homemade Wanderlust (I suspect that you know her RUclips channel as your channel name is similar), put out some videos about developing an allergy to the down and dust might's (which live in down) amongst other things) in her sleeping quilt and puffy jacket as her face etc. started swelling when she was on the trail, particularly first thing in the morning after a night's sleep. It seems that dust might allergy is much more common than down. Here's one of her videos explaining her experience and what she did: ruclips.net/video/aECDOrJ2tS8/видео.html It might be worth trying sleeping in your sleeping bag at home when not using anything else that you use on the trail, then wearing your puffy jacket in isolation at home and seeing what happens, to see if your eye swells when using any one thing, which might give a clue. Dixie talks about her allergy test in the video. Some of the commenters to her video have some good suggestions about simulating things in isolation at home that you do on the trail, including what doesn't get washed off at night when on the trail and if it is washed, how much water is used, and the soap used. Another thought, do you use different makeup on the trail to at home, eg. waterproof makeup if there is such a thing? Here's another video where Dixie discusses her viewer suggestions about her allergy ruclips.net/video/mBOizjIvvV0/видео.html . I think that she has done more videos on the subject.
Thanks so much for all the helpful intel 😃 yes I’ll check it out! I did think at one point it may be my down sleeping bag, but it also happens at home if I’m dehydrated so it also could be that? 🤔 I’ll defo do some investigating xx thanks so much again xx

Thanks Andy, yes I’m so excited to get back up to Scotland 😃 not too long now xxx appreciate you watching xxx
@@DrunkOnWanderlust yes... There's a wee diversion to make a note of, as your coming from Drumnadrochit to inverness as you head towards Abriachan. Carn na Leitire (not a huge climb) viewpoint is well worth the climb up.
@@andyventures6574 ahh thanks Andy I’ll make sure to take the high route if the views are better!
Finally, got round to watching, great video kerry... 💪 You certainly embraced the weather. And YOU MADE IT 🎊🎉🎊🎉 Well done mate, sterling effort.. Great work dude. Take care ATB Dave x
Awww thanks Dave 🤗🤗 it defo was an adventure! Loved every minute even the mist ha ha x hope you’ve had a great weekend
Unbelievable Kerry well done, fantastic effort on your own . I sponsored a few coffees or beers 🤣🤣👍 Thanks for sharing

Hey 😁🙋🏼♀️ how’s it going xx ahhh thanks for watching xxx I don’t know if I know that song 🙈 who’s it by?
@@DrunkOnWanderlust I'm doing well Kerry. The song raining in my heart was sung by Buddy Holly. Hope you are having a great weekend 😊
Brilliant vid again Kerry, looking forward to the next one.well done you.
Hi Gary, how’s your week been? Thanks for commenting and watching 🤗 I had such a wonderful time x
Well done Kerry and do get some trekking poles. An oldie for you but give it a listen. Raining in my heart, by Buddy Holly.
Hi there Iain, oooh I will have to take a listen, and yeah I think I should add poles to the list of things I need 🙈🙈
@@DrunkOnWanderlust Just a great aid going up and down hills and crossing streams etc.
Great vid. So entertaining :)
Well done for finishing the Cumbria Way!
Hi Linda!! How are you? Awww thank you 😊 Glad you enjoyed it xxx thanks so much for watching 💋
Purple Rain - Prince. Excellent vid as always, you are inspirational.
How on earth could I have forgotten that one! 🙈🤦🏼♀️ such a fantastic song and November rain Guns and roses lol xxx thanks for watching
@@DrunkOnWanderlust ahhh OK. That makes sense. That was very hard core of you, no wonder you wanted a pub to break it up :D x

'Rain' by The Beatles. Classic 😁
Now I didn’t think of that one!!! Great comment 😃👌🏻
To bump into U on the trail would be heaven your so cute !
🤗
Could you have been able to boil water? Rule of thumb is: below 5000 feet you only need to boil it for 1 minute. Above 5000 feet boil for 3 minutes. Filter it thru a bandana, Buff or sock to remove the big chunks.
Yes possibly, but it had a load of bits in it and it was starting to rain so didn’t fancy stopping and sorting it all
🙌 good idea to filter it through a sock though!
Here's one of her videos explaining her experience and what she did: ruclips.net/video/aECDOrJ2tS8/видео.html
It might be worth trying sleeping in your sleeping bag at home when not using anything else that you use on the trail, then wearing your puffy jacket in isolation at home and seeing what happens, to see if your eye swells when using any one thing, which might give a clue.
