I know how everyone calls Harley an idiot, but she's actually really super smart-- Her dumbest thing she ever let herself do was be manipulated by Joker; he's the one that holds her back as a character. After all, she's come closer to actually killing Batman than Joker has, and she would've accomplished it too if it wasn't for the fact that she was looking so hard for Joker's approval.

@@disorderrgv It depends on the incarnation. There are many different Batman universes and outside Suicide Squad, one or two Joker's have a twisted, evil but genuine affection for Harley. However, he's so scared of being distracted by his feelings for her that he abuses or tries to kill her so that he can focus on Batman. Some incarnations of Joker basically use abuse and attempted murder as a way of saying "I love you".

Here's the thing: playing Harley is probably one of the most difficult roles for an actress. I see people complaining margot didn't have harley's pitchy voice in the movie so she wasn't "authentic". For the love of god! Could you imagine how irritating the movie would be if the main character kept talking like that all the time?? Just understand that some changes needed to be made, for the sake of the movie.

I freak'n love Harley Quinn. I love her psychotic personality and how she sometimes spills the beans on certain locations is funny. Everything fits her so perfectly and I love it. Yet you can still feel bad for her due to her story and how she became the way she is. All time favorite villian ever.

harleen/harley falls in love with the joker an she does anything for him. he electric shocks her and throws her into an acid bath - with her concent (she told him she could take the electric shock and and jumped ito the acid bath herself) to make her insane, like him. he badically uses her to get out of the asylum but then he falls inlove with her too. but he is very abusive towards her. thats how she goes insane. hope that helped/makes sense :)
Fun fact:psychiatrists have a HUGE suicide rate. They often go into the profession because they have issues themselves and wnt to help people.

She was a gymnast, and when she graduated from high school she studied phychology, and took an interest to villains. So she took an internship at gotham asylum, and was asigned to the joker. She fell in love, and the joker pushed her into a bleach vat, making her go crazy and call everyone "puddin"

It could be. In some universes, there are hints that the Joker might be sexually attracted to Batman. In universes like the Adam West show or Batman: The Animated Series, I think we can safely say there's no sexual attraction since those shows were aimed primarily at children and even when you look back as an adult, you never really get a sense that the relationship between Joker and Batman was a result on any sexual tension. Joker just enjoys messing with him like any villain who thrives on a worthy opponent or even like a little boy who constantly annoys his friend in the playground. However, there are other universes where there is something that could be interpreted as sexual tension.

Some villains have actually reason to be bad but most of them are completely evil.
Ive noticed a lot of frequent questions, so I'll try to help:
1. How'd she get that way? • She fell in love with the joker
2. How'd he die? • He had a sickness that was slowly killing him ((yes he died for real))
3. Are these games? • Yes, multiple, and a few "expansion packs" Sadly I can not remember all of them because its 12:30 Am.
4. How'd Joker get in control? • set up a trap
5. How'd he get like that? • B-boy threw him in chemicals and it turned his skin bleach white and mad
6. Do these correspond with comics/ Suicide squad? • Yes and no. They met the same as the comics, she fell for him etc. but in the comics he used her more and was quite abusive. In suicide squad, lol idk didn't see it yet.

The scene in origins is always rather twisted and shows you everything you need to know about the Joker right there. His dialogue manipulated Harley into thinking he was talking about her but the scene which we the audience can see very clearly shows he means Batman.

Harley Quinn
A psychiatrist who turned into a psycho . Her personality is not so likeable but she makes you fall in love with her. Her dangerous and diabolic acts makes her a perfect villain making the audience hate her, but her past story makes our heart melt. Her duality is crazy!! She can literally save a guy from danger at a moment and throw him off the cliff just for fun at another.

In the beginning, he wasn't talking about her at all. He just found his complete opposite: Batman. Joker and Batman are like two sides of a coin. Joker represents evil and chaos while Batman represents good and order. Both dwell in darkness, but the only difference is that Batman doesn't allow himself to get too consumed like the Joker.
Harley Quinn never stood a chance.

People complain about Tara Strong's Harley but although she doesn't sound exactly like Arleen Sorkin, the only actress who's gotten closer to mimicking Arleen's voice is Hynden Walch. Maybe someone else will surpass Tara in the future, but she's currently the third greatest Harley.

What really hits me about this story is that you know she's going to fail and you can't help but feel sorry for her. There's this brilliant sense of helplessness that's just incredible.
Harley has crazy potential to be a truly badass villain on her own, or even redeem herself into being a hero or anti-hero. I got that joker held her back, but whenever she isn't strapped to him she displays great cunning and intellect. She's childish and playful in a sick way but it works. They really screwed her over.

Arleen Sorkin's the original and greatest Harley. She voiced her from 5:34 to either 13:56 or 16:27. I assume the couple of minutes in between 13:56 and 16:27 is still part of the Arkham Asylum game since Harley's in the same outfit, but I couldn't find where it fits into the story. I thought Harley's last scene in that game was Batman locking her up and her blabbing that Joker was in the gardens. Anyway, Tara Strong took over for the rest of the series but Arleen did the first game.

FYI, original Harley's origin story appeared in a comic called Mad Love. She started out as an intern at Arkham Asylum, where she met and became infatuated with the Joker. At first, she just wanted to get to know him to write a book and advance her career, but he convinced her through a series of sob stories and other manipulation tactics that he was the one being mistreated and that Batman and the police were in the wrong, and she was the one who could help him. Eventually, she bought the story, donned a disguise--the jester costume, and broke him out of Arkham, becoming his sidekick and part-time lover Harley Quinn. Joker felt like she was a distraction, though, so he tried to get rid of her and treated her badly so she would leave. Like a loyal pet, though, she stayed with him for several years, absorbing the abuse and learning to live with the black eyes and broken bones. In the course of her time with Joker, she made several friends in Batman's rogues gallery, including Poison Ivy, who gave her a vaccine against Joker's poisons.
In the original story, Ivy and Harley are just good friends, not lovers; the Harley / Ivy thing didn't start until new 52. Classic Harley Quinn is also not insane exactly; she's just been thoroughly brainwashed by the Joker. She stubbornly stays with him, believing she can help him. Since she's not insane, though, that means she's capable of much more meticulous planning and strategy. She also knows most of the Joker's tricks, but she's not a killer and is really a much better candidate for anti-hero than the new 52 version.
The new 52 version kind of bothers me, because one, she's already crazy--she fell for a psychopath in school, and she set animal carcasses on fire. Two, she's been made even more like the Joker, with the acid bath and such, so she's not the "anchor of sanity" of the relationship anymore. It's just crazy and more crazy, and finally, she kills indiscriminately, like the Joker. Classic Harley was just an accomplice, but new 52 Harley was a full participant, and, crazy or not, that's messed up; she even killed kids at one point, and this was without the Joker's prompting. I kind of feel like new 52 Harley is a "Joker lite," and I'm kind of miffed at the idea that she can be redeemed into an anti-hero, but the Joker can't. She started off as basically just a milder version of him, and I'm not that happy that she replaced classic Harley.

This Harley Quinn is a personal favorite of mine. This one is a tortured woman who even after being freed from her abusive relationship can’t let go of her abuser.
Looking at how Joker and Batman interact with each other in this series just perpetuates that notion that Joker really admired and loved Batman in a chaotic dysfunctional way. When Harley Quinn entered his life, since he is so used to being unrequitted he found her heart slightly disturbing and uncomfortable making their relationship even more dysfunctional and awkward...
