Tesla approval for FSD in China is huge for Tesla as a innovation and technology company and release of future products in China.
Huge advantage over a lot of the competition securing a place in the Global market.
Outstanding discussion! Thank you both.
great points here guys thank you
how to data center issue? is there a solution
Excellent Tesla is not just a car company. Remember that.
Very few said it was, no matter how many times that gets repeated on this station. It's actually a conglomerate.
It's barely a car company. The stock will be in the 20's before you know it.
They are literally 98% a car company. None of this other tech BS has achieved anything except a brief spike in stock price a few years ago. Results matter. Eventually you have to produce these incredible things you claim. There are only so many times you can claim "it's coming next year" before people start to realise that you never deliver on any of them.
You can buy it outright in China for 64k RMB - like you can do in Sweden ❤🇸🇪 for the same price.
To enable FSD, you need massive amount of high-end computer chips which can be manufactured only by TSMC, Samsung and Intel. This area of tech is protected, costs $Ts and many years to develop & facilitate.
Licensing is the key.
I use FSD (Supervised) every day now and won't go back. Each release has a 'style' or 'personality' which I quickly learn. Can't wait for Grok to be added to the software stack.
If you have to supervise it, then it's not FSD.
And Grok lol. That thing is embarrassing
What will happen is at some point the car insurance rates for non FSD cars will go way up. The average person won't be able to afford to drive a non FSD car due to the high cost of insurance. Cities and states may outlaw human driven HD cars on the roads at some distant point in the future. These human driven HD cars will become worthless or novelties to own.
I stopped listening to people ages ago. Best decision of my life. Most people have no idea on most topics not just investing
FSD Robotaxi overplayed. Tesla n Elon needs a narrative to support share price given low take up rate and keen competition from chinese car makers
They make it sound like taxi companies are the most lucrative in the world and that everyone will ride a robotaxi as soon as it’s available. That just won’t happen. Most people take their own car, people have kids, dogs, stuff and it’s convenient to take your own car. Why would I pay more for a robotaxi then I do drive my own car?! And robotaxi wouldn’t make people not buy cars, maybe some tesla owners. Can’t se the guy with his Ford F150 selling it and only riding robotaxi…
@@gustavgyll3291 In USA most owns a car at least. It may make sense for highly populated cities like NYC. Car can be a very private asset which u won't want to share!
@@kennySg101 same in most parts of Europe. In Sweden most families have two cars. But we also have a great public transport system if you live in or close to any big cities. Most people don’t lend their cars to any outside of the family. Über drivers have to fallow the same laws as all taxi drivers and cars. In Europe your car have to be a taxi with special number plates and taxed as a taxi to be able to drive people for money. Most countries have a way more complicated system for taxis than the US.
And then we have the unions. Taxi drivers have unions, unions pay money to politicians, taxi drivers are voters and voters have power.
We will have robotaxis in the future but outside of the US it will take a long long time.
@@gustavgyll3291 Thanks for sharing. In my country Singapore, car is a luxury. Even cab or Taxi can be expensive. We rely mainly on public transport which one of the best on earth. Anyhow, Tesla bull and fans may buy into the story and send the stock higher.
Just think of the value if Governments mandate FSD before 2030, sooner than anyone else can copy it.
Now this is big
If it had been an Apple deal, they would have made it a US national holiday, a paid WSJ/CNBC holiday, on every mainstream tv news evening headline, 20 minute CEO interview 😊
Having spent time in China, I can't imagine imagine how any self-driving system could manage to deal with Chinese traffic, roads and drivers, but I can imagine political profit motive carrying more weight in the decision over public safety.
Glad you don’t work for Tesla then.
By that meaning you aren’t at the level needed to push the “can’t imagine” to we can do it
@@ssing7113 Your Point?
Typical western arrogance. Your mindset is why the Chinese are sweeping the world away, not to mention Chinese roads are so much better than western ones.
So you pay a subscription to have the car drive itself. It’s like hiring a chauffeur. How many middle class drivers can afford a chauffeur?
You don't need fsd. autopilot is just fine.
Rough math, each million of $99 mth subscriptions add @$1 billion in annual earnings (assuming @10% cost to furnish). A 20% take rate seems likely to me.
Agree that autonomous regulations will not be an issue in the US. Rules for Taxi/RoboTaxis on the other hand are currently being defined by local jurisdictions which you can’t train by feeding video.
I don’t disagree.
Just pointing out we still can’t have side mirror cameras here 😂😂😂.
Compensation interest payment, for a couple years maybe 😅
Model 4 - will be cheap for most of the modern world to buy
Brian, you’re assuming that all the FSD softwares from the various companies would be equal. Tesla has the most data for all those corner cases. If your life depended on it which brand of robotaxi would you ride in?
Covers companies like Tesla, Merc and Ferrari.
They all have 4 wheels. Does he cover shopping trolley manufacturers too?
A hit rate of 54.5% doesn't sound overly impressive.
The problems will arise with the very *_first_* lawsuit involving a fatality with someone *_NOT_* driving a *Tesla* when it can be *_proved_*_ beyond a reasonable doubt_ that the accident was caused by that person *_not_* using *Tesla FSD.*
Yup musk won't accept that Tesla is fully responsible for FSD. Why should my car insurance pay for any FSD damange
@@FactsAboutTheWorld.YET.
There’s absolutely no reason for Tesla to accept liability while the software remains in development.
Only when it’s decided to be complete will Tesla have to accept liability. Until then, the driver is responsible.
Imagine you send your car out to be a Robotaxi...and it got into an accident. Who is responsible for that accident? Definitely not you...cause you are not even in the car.
Faux Self Driving.
The model will probably be where you don't need insurance because Tesla is liable. Instead of paying the insurance company, you pay for self driving by the month, which is kind of like insurance in itself. With that kind of monthly income, Tesla will be able to pay some frivolous lawsuits until FSD is so foolproof it won't matter. Until then FSD and insurance could be a sort of hybrid arrangement.
Faraday will easily take over the Chinese EV market before you know it.
Robotaxi - can be your own Tesla or a special product. Doesnt matter
There might be a split in revenue between partners so 70% margin is a possibility for Tesla
There are problems to fully have a robotaxi system. Insurance, ultimate edge cases ( FSD has to literally understand the world, because any outlandish thing can occur on roads. Flooding, earthquakes, fallen trees, other inconsiderate/dangerous drivers can do literally anything). But Tesla can solve "impossible", and make it merely "late". Even as these various commentators are talking, Tesla will be working on solving all the various potential problems. (And possibly come up with solutions that even knowledgeable commentators haven't thought of...)
Dont see why it’s needed to exaggerate !?
The cost will be substantial with maintaining the cars , repairs , and guess what , cars don’t last forever .
Cleaning them , charging them .
Insurance.
But on the other hand leading this marked for Tesla will last long I think , not only because they are head and shoulder in front to start with , but because , with down to 1 dollar a mile , they will eat into the car marked , more and more people will rapidly choose not to own a car , but use robotaxi and other kinds of transport that spins off autonomous driving.
🚀
What the f is FSD?
Even if fsd isn't solved and providing Tesla prices it accordingly and competitively, then it's still a big money maker
$30 aonth for a car that drives you most of the way and is safer to use?
I can see taxi drivers for example lapping this up all day long lol
The next big thing will be synthetic data.
Will Elon allow you to drive in the future
Tesla owner and investor. Im worried that Tesla is trying to prop up declining profit margins by lowering autonomous subscriptions on technology that Tesla knows is years away from perfecting.
Guys, I think you are overplaying the importance of FSD. Most people don’t have an issue driving their car for as absolutely FREE. I have watched so many near misses with the latest version of FSD most of which would have ended in serious injury or even death without human intervention. Insurers are taking a dim view on FSD and I am sorry, without insurance cover you cannot actually drive
FSD full neural net bet by Elon will go down as the biggest chess moves of all time.. Apple, Google and Meta may all get swept up in his fish net.. not to mention every automobile company on earth.. how ironic..😂.. the past 2 weeks are truly epic being a longtime Tesla bull..
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻✌🏻
Future earnings are unknown, but they certainly won't be zero. What this really means with China stepping forward is that other states in the U.S. and countries should not be too hesitant in approving FSD or they will be left behind.
Please get out of the TSLA bubble and see what industry followers are saying about the super charger reaction by Mr Musk. I am been a daily watcher for a couple of years and value and enjoy your content yet am disappointed you can't seem to put aside your admiration for Mr Musk to challenge his poor leadership. We can't challenge the bear BS if we can't admit when mistakes are being made. Brett
It is far from proven that either Musk or Tesla are making a mistake with their new direction. More will be known after the second quarter report.
These guys are "industry followers" too. So am I and had a long career in the industry but don't have a youtube channel. Listen to the various sides and draw your own conclusions... but don't assume an "expert"... is really an expert.
And how many believed in Elon ( one cheerleader called Cathie Woods ) And how many were proven to look extremely foolish being the “super analyst”
If you don’t agree with Elon and the craziness of him and the company. Then just pack it up and sale. Enough said. You aren’t swaying the stock. Not me. None of us but institutions. You aren’t even in control so don’t worry. You’re wasting time even thinking on it. Forecast is it a good company in the future or not. Ok then strike or walk away
Some of us ( myself included) if we are commenting are wayyyy to invested and senseless time wasting. Elon is going to do what he does and the board will do what they do. Us peons are all throwing out our opinions and wasting our time with things that are out of our control
You are absolutely right!
You have to be able to admit when he makes mistakes to be trustworthy. Everything can’t be great, then you’re just delusional.
@@robzienert7492 thanks for being you! I m sure you're kids are proud. AW
I heard Bezoz was looking for an initial investment from family and friends of $50,000. Most declined. Had they invested they would be billionaires.
they will steal the system from him
You really think FSD will be commodity?? Just because Tesla solved it doesn’t mean it’s an easy problem to solve.
brian doesn’t know anything about neural network and FSD , it is so obvious when he compare Tesla with a batch of Chinese car vendors software
