Having Max Holloway as a retirement fight is crazy
Zombies aren’t known for their intelligence
I hadn’t watched a lot of holloway but, I’ve never seen movement like this ever before, even when he’s defending he puts shots in blocks, dodges, zombie absolutely had 0 chance in there.

Thats called respect. He is a true warrior. Giving him anyone else would have been an injustice. The Korean zombie was a legend retiring still high in the rankings and deserves a legend like max in his farewell.

Really puts into perspective their age difference despite being similar generation of fighter.
Pre-military Zombie was fun as hell, just threw everything like random flying knees and turned everything into a high paced brawl.
Post military Zombie just turned shot selective and less crazy.

I was driving when the walkouts started. I pulled over and was smiling so hard when tkz came out. He was trying to take in every second and the crowd was singing their hearts out. What a way to go out.

Man Max has better tools on striking than Gaethje, the guy is too resilient. I think he will get the bmf

I hated that Sung-Jung went for that wild skirmish to gain the advantage. He was wide open and Max saw it and countered perfectly. Such a great fight.
Yeah it seems like in R3 Zombie completely abandoned his strategy to go for a Hail Mary/please the fans, which is a terrible idea less than halfway into a pretty close fight 😆. But you've gotta respect him for it.

@@Eli42067 Well yeah, he clearly lost R1&2 but they were still competitive. He was landing good shots, even though Max was landing more. He didn't have to go for a Hail Mary KO at the start of R3. (Although maybe he was thinking of Max's insane cardio and thought he was more likely to get it in R3 than R5?)

He went out like a fuckin boss 😤 a lot of the fighters could learn something from this, you’re not all destined to be the world champ but you can still be a huge star if you go out there like a dog and put it all on the line. Look at Michael Chandler he’s a huge star and has lost more than he’s won in the UFC I think.

I became a fan of ufc was 2018 and also start watching max holloway's fights but this was the first time that i watched max that he wins by knockout
This was as good as any *movie* about fighting, WOW!! The Sportsmanship shown throughout, that's what the standard of conduct ought to aspire to be, right there.
Max Holloway is a phenomenal fighter, and good example of what a committed athlete looks like.

Holloway fought too damn clean , that last sequence showed elite defense and footwork and got the best KO of his career , granted this was against a very game Zombie who was gonna retire.

I don’t care what anybody says. The Korean Zombie is in my Top 15 Greatest Fighters of All Time list. He lost some of his best MMA years fighting for his country, and he still graced us with one of the most exciting and entertaining careers ever.

Max deserved to get ridiculed for wanting this fight. TKZ had less business being involved in the octagon with max than chito having a title shot.
Exactly, this fight was a pointless matchup. Everyone already knew who was winning.. Max will have his Tony Ferguson moment against Gaethje soon.
It was the respect everyone had for TKZ that made this fight happen. It was UFC’s gift to let him retire against a true warrior. Either way, TKZ had a great career and could’ve had a better one if he didn’t go to the military during his prime.
