The more parents massage their ego, is the worst we are damaging our relationships with our children. With love and kindness, we nurture our generations
I think parents should also be confronted about certain things. They are human who do wrong, they ain't perfect, they can also be toxic. I wish we evolve to taking it in good faith. Those who haven't been in certain circumstances shouldn't be quick to judge. Love you guys ❤❤
I have confronted my mother before, about her undermining every decision that I make and yet most times things workout due to my persistence and she sees the fruits later, but I did it respectfully and even when she tried to use the "anger" weapon I made sure I waited for my turn to speak coz sometimes in these heated conversations you might end up being miss read. Am glad it worked and made her better and more supportive. But I couldn't confront any adult until I reached my 20s. Anti they say "Kati olaba okuze" especially when you're still a teenager 😂😂 infact if these things are not talked about both parties are not helped.
As a matter of fact Abba kept on acknowledging his DAD as his parent no matter his feedback like Manuela put it,personally I respect my parents but I dnt fear them I think that’s where the mix is
Context is also important in such a situation. The family in question is a "high" profile family in the country so if the intent is for the well being of the family maybe those are conversations you have privately with the people in question one on one. The issue with public opinion is that its so volatile today they are commending you the next day they are passing you through the mud. But in the parents defence too: I have had scenarios where I have had a strong and right opinion on something but surprisingly I have found that sometimes my opinion is based on only what I know our parents may know more and the decisions they mat make are based on experiences we may never know about so the wisdom in not judging them is I believe to the degree that they have an experience that influences their decision in that moment. #myopinion.
I like the topic , its exactly wat we are going thru at home our dad drinks himself to stupid he came back to the villager having failed Kampala and all he does is drink and demand to sell property , and when we talk all the villagers are like you have no right to talk to dad that way, let him sale wat he wants .
That saying of omuzadde tasobya is the wrongest I ever hard. It's probably an excuse for parents to do whatever they want. So if the parent is sleeping outside of the house and not come back u still say nothing. Hmm

Personally in our family we are free to give feedback but just like you guys have said they turn it into anger.
Because of how I hold Manuela in high regard, I am glad we hold the same opinion about Abba’s scenario. Kudos to me 😂
Manuella had to throw the "mulondo in a hotel" example in 😂😂
It's good to humbly let them know mainly starting from the millennial parents

The way some of our parents traumatized us and kept us constantly in a fight/flight mode..can we even confront them...😅..it's ok..we will live.
