Great video my friend!!! I built one of these of love it. I ordered the enclosure and ended up installing it in the enclosure. I didn't like the idea about not being able to use the S1 switch once I had the enclosure on it. I did a couple modifications to the enclosure. One of those mods was to put a bail stand on it, that way the QCX would be tilted up for easy screen view. The next mod required me to contact the company in Germany that built the enclosure for QRP Labs and I ordered some parts from them so I could actually use the S1 switch to send CW if I forgot to take a key with me when going portable. I ordered the parts that are used on the case to push the internal buttons, I had to modify them somewhat to fit and work as they should. You can see this modification by checking my channel. It was the best modification you could do to the QCX enclosure. Great video!! DE WD8WV
The reason for dividing by 25 instead of 50 is because it is only half wave rectification and so only half the power is measured. Just finished building my QCX and as you say very impressive and a fun build.
Giving up your Begalli? My QCX-40 remains in its bag as I received it last month. I got a 3D printer in the interim and went wild with it. Oddly enough, I got the 3D printer to make a case for the QCX.
You lucky stiff! The ONLY shortcoming with the QCX is the absence of an enclosure. Better get building - the only tricky part is the transformer. When you're done, put your rig/enclosure on RUclips!
stanscoyote I should show you the LiOn battery holder I built for my KX2. I did post a photo on the Elecraft FB group. Still needs more testing before I official publish the details. It holds three separate 18650 cells so they can be charged with a standard charger as well as interchanged with other equipment.
QSL on the enclosure situation, but given the popularity of the kit, I'm hoping it opens business opportunities for other hams. I see where there's already a company marketing a nice aluminium case. If the QCX market remains strong, we may eventually have a choice of several possibilities. Which would just make it an even more awesome project.

Love your QRP work and your portable chair rig, I think you need to patent it, Stan. 73, KC3BXZ Joe
Thanks for the demo. I have this kit arriving soon, and have also looked at getting one of the MyAntennas end-fed antenna. 73’s

Looking forward to seeing it on RUclips. This is really a great place to share ideas for anyone with a computer and a digital camera.
