      @SheClicksBricks - I've been working on issues related to my Worker's Compensation case. The BS never ends. Or I have been spending more time with other issues such as fused glass art. I'll email you a couple pictures. I have definitely been thinking more and more about making some more videos so keep your 👀 on the look out.
      Yes, I toured Himeji Castle in 2003 while I was stationed in Japan. This has been on my list since it was leaked, however, based on the scale, I thought it was overpriced.

    I prefer manuals to have only the parts you are placing to be coloured, but I think having the other parts coloured but with reduced opacity would work best for me.
    I'd also really appreciate if manuals had the proper shades. Had an moc set where they used a brown that looked almost black, and had two similar shades of grey, and it was hard telling which one was the correct colour sometimes. It was fine when they used 8 to 16 colours but now there are over 50 and the colour reproduction in manuals (even in PDF) hasn't kept up.

    I completely understand the appeal of finding a bargain, maybe next time you can explore alternatives like discounted genuine sets or preloved. It supports ETHICAL practices and the original creator.

    • @SheClicksBricks
      @SheClicksBricks  Месяц назад +4

      Thanks for the suggestion, people should beware of this option, but that is not for us. There are a few reasons, one of the reasons is due to Lego's unethical pricing of their sets in the first place and because of that, the prices in the secondary market are just as ridiculous. As a result, I built very few Lego sets and mostly alternative bricks. The original Lego creator is supported by their salary, they don't earn a commission. Lego didn't lose a sale from me. I was never buying the Lego version in the first place due to their pricing or the set being retired. Do you buy any No Name products in your life in an attempt to save money? Thanks for sharing.🥰

      @@SheClicksBricks Great to hear different viewpoints, and I appreciate your openness to discussion.
      While it's true that LEGO doesn't directly profit from the resale of sets, the issue of purchasing knockoffs extends beyond just the financial aspect for the original manufacturer. Here are a few considerations:
      Supporting Criminal Activities-Buying knockoffs can inadvertently support illegal operations, which is a larger issue that affects communities and economies worldwide.
      Unethical Labor Practices- The production of counterfeit goods is often associated with poor working conditions and EXPLOITATION practices.
      *Should also mention; Undermining Innovation,Personal Integrity and Misrepresentation of the brand.
      Exploring ORIGINAL designs from other companies is a fantastic way to diversify your collection, provided those companies also respect INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY and ETHICAL PRACTICES.

    • @SheClicksBricks
      @SheClicksBricks  Месяц назад +3

      @@joandavis9055 A number of big brand global companies are active in illegal/sketchy operations and/or child labour, such as Nestle, Hersey, H&M, Apple and Hyundai just to name a few. These companies are still raking in the money with little regard to how it may affect the world. To assume that alt bricks are created in such a manner is unfair, but could be true. If the companies that we “Trust” do it, then it is possible.
      These brick sets aren’t counterfeit. I believe Lego’s patent on bricks expired in 1978. These sets knockoffs/replicas/clones. A counterfeit is something that is almost indistinguishable from the real thing. A Knock Off is something that looks similar, but is clearly not trying to fool anyone into thinking they are buying the real thing. I have never seen a Lego counterfeit with any of the resellers I use.
      ** Today Lego is all about “Fair Play” which I find ironic since the entire company is built on a stolen design from a company called Kiddiecraft. Is Lego a toy or a designer brand? Hasbro has a profit per dollar of 8 cents, Mattel has a profit per dollar of 12 cents, Ferrari is at 24 cents, Louis Vuitton is at 27 cents and Lego is at 28 cents profit per dollar. Lego sees themselves as a designer brand and not the toy that I and many others see them as. There are cell phones, gaming systems and computers less expensive than some Lego sets. There is nothing “Fair” about that in my book.
      Many other Alt brick companies sell licensed sets for a fraction of the Lego price, such as CaDA, Cobi and Pantasy just to name a few. I just finished the Panatsy Bakery and I my opinion it is easily comparable to the quality of an actual Lego modular and where I live, it was $200 less expensive. That is money that I use for other things like my bills, food, and charity donations. We would love to build with all Lego, but in their quest for more money than Ferrari, they priced us and many others out. I really do appreciate you taking the time to share.🥰🥰

      @nsbd90now 21 день назад +1

      @@SheClicksBricks Thanks, but I would suggest rather than try to rationalize that questionable decision, it might be better to highlight the independent designers-- who get paid for their designs by the manufacturers-- and are put into production by these good alt-brick manufacturers. There is no need to be so ethically questionable.

    • @SheClicksBricks
      @SheClicksBricks  21 день назад

      @nsbd90now Maybe one day, but right now, this is where I am at in my brick building journey. Lego has a profit per dollar that is greater than Ferrari or Louis Vutton for a plastic brick. As far as i am concerned, they have their own ethical questions to answer in that respect. I also buy no name ketchup and toilet paper for much of the same reason. The value per dollar. Respectfully, in this economy, Lego should be ashamed of themselves for pricing their products in line with cell phones and laptops and gaming consoles. Keep in mind the idea of Lego was stolen from a company called Kiddie craft, by Lego. With everything going on in this world. I don't have the time or money to take the ethical high ground with a over priced plastic brick. That said, I love you sharing your opinion, people should be aware of all factors before making a decision for themselves 🥰. You don't need to agree with us to comment. Thank you❤️
