Thanks a lot, Pirate! I gave it away to a Patreon follower soon thereafter, much as I do with tanks every now and then. It was fun and relaxing to do, though - I find painting scenic bases always is (unless I'm racing against the clock for a tournament or whatever).
Great job! You’ve inspired me to try enamels and oils 😁 just wondering though where you say “I did use a different colour for the columns but forgot to press record…” what colour did you use for the columns please?
Hi Nick, thanks a lot, and it's great to hear that this served as inspiration! The two colors were indicated on screen at the start of that segment - Hellgrau and Lichtgrau from AK Real Colors. Don't ask me which was which, though...😅. Hope this helps, Enrique
Would you recommend varnishing after the finishing touches or do you think the paint will be strong enough with the previous varnishes and fixers to hold up against average tabletop wear and tear?
Here, like in most projects, I had applied Tamiya Flat Clear prior to pigments, so eveything before that is sealed. The rim of the base I always varnish as well, so the only reason to varnish the rest would be if you think you’re going to touch the upper part of the base with greasy fingers all the time or something like that.
That is a nice base. Great job

Thank you, Rick!

For the love of Kthulhu... :D Nice piece, btw.
