I've always searched for the fastest/quickest, ball-hawking, eraser type Safety in each year's draft and beg the TV screen for us to take him. Look, in my opinion, the Jets biggest problem is an owner who behaves like a game show host. In his released statement he said the Jets roster is the best it have been in 25 years. I've watched all their games and it is clear this team does not have the talent to match up with the NFL's better teams: 49ers, Chiefs, Lions, Packers, etc. And besides, can anyone explain why people think Woody Johnson can appropriately gauge NFL talent?
Rodgers brought along Lazard and also Randall Cobb to be WR's for the Jets. That Hackett became OC is not surprising. After all, the only reason Denver hired Hackett as HC was because they were actively pursuing Rodgers, but ultimately got Russell Wilson. Also, let's not forget the infamous way he dodged a question as to whether he'd been vaccinated for Covid, saying he's been "immunized" . What should have happened is the Jets should have hired Hackett to some innocuous position- an offensive QB coach, for example. Jets brought in Rodgers to fix the quarterback problem and the situation continues. Let’s not forget that Joe Flacco was the quarterback for the Jets in select games in 2022…even Flacco looked awful. If you as a coach only look at one side of the field (whether offense or defense), you should permanently stay a coordinator and let a real coach lead. This was something that former giants, defensive coordinator, Bill Belichick, figured out.

It ain't over yet. All that matters is we get into the playoffs one way or another, then win a few games in a row. A few losses could be exactly what we need to set a 🔥 under their butts... but that's me being the optimistic fan.
In reality, there's too many contender teams that have speed in the right places, to take advantage of our average speed Secondary. I've always searched for the fastest/quickest, ball-hawking, eraser type Safety in each year's draft and beg the TV screen for us to take him. But this last year I raged at Kyle taking a Receiver, when we need to be building to stop the deep pass plays that kill us in the playoffs. I'm a huge Ed Reed fan and always look for the closest thing to him in each draft.
Anyway, my point is between Kyle, Purdy, Kittle, Deebo, Juice, McCaffrey, etc, we can generate yards & points... if we would've been building to make our Secondary elite, we would transform our Defense. Maybe try to get another real threat DE opposite Bosa, and we'd be Superbowl ready.
(fantasy land-->) we put Boy Genius to Offensive Coordinator, and hired Bill to come in with his defensive mind and be Head Coach. I would be excited to see that.

Look, in my opinion, the Jets biggest problem is an owner who behaves like a game show host. In his released statement he said the Jets roster is the best it have been in 25 years. I've watched all their games and it is clear this team does not have the talent to match up with the NFL's better teams: 49ers, Chiefs, Lions, Packers, etc. And besides, can anyone explain why people think Woody Johnson can appropriately gauge NFL talent?
Rodgers brought along Lazard and also Randall Cobb to be WR's for the Jets. That Hackett became OC is not surprising. After all, the only reason Denver hired Hackett as HC was because they were actively pursuing Rodgers, but ultimately got Russell Wilson. Also, let's not forget the infamous way he dodged a question as to whether he'd been vaccinated for Covid, saying he's been "immunized" . What should have happened is the Jets should have hired Hackett to some innocuous position- an offensive QB coach, for example. Now, Rodgers is stuck in the same offense that Mike McCarthy ran for so many years- no motion, no bunches, nothing. Just have the WR run a route, and expect them to beat the defender. And as far as Rodgers not accepting a hug from Saleh? He actually at one point screamed at the sidelines during a game, "Stupid play! That was a stupid play!" Then he'll go onto McAfee, who gives him an open microphone, and rarely if ever challenges his statements.
Hackett wasn't on Rodgers list of demands but he's happy to have him.

The R1 WR thing really annoys me. Look at all their drafts. When they picked there was never a receiver available in round one, who was projected to go in that round. Look at every draft. There was never one available. It's not like they didn't want to draft one. They didn't have a choice. They traded up to get ayuk and he was stolen one pick in front of them.

He was given input on who the Jets should draft in 2021, which he left to the GM (who truly needs a pink slip). He stapled his career to Zach Wilson (unlike Gase, he got a pass on his failure). Jets brought in Rodgers to fix the quarterback problem and the situation continues. Let’s not forget that Joe Flacco was the quarterback for the Jets in select games in 2022…even Flacco looked awful.
If you as a coach only look at one side of the field (whether offense or defense), you should permanently stay a coordinator and let a real coach lead. This was something that former giants, defensive coordinator, Bill Belichick, figured out.
All I gotta say is watch AJ Hawk's reaction when Rogers talks about his influence in the organization. Its obvious that he was part of the decision. Rogers can resent this all he wants but ya, he was definitely was involved in this decision to fire his head coach 100%. Aaron Rodgers is often wrong but always certain. A little less certainty in his own infallibility would go a long way to creating space for more people's talents to shine and better team chemistry. He interferes in staffing decisions as much as Jerry Jones without even owning the team. Fascinating to watch from the outside as a Packer fan (rather than experiencing its dysfunction from the inside as we did previously).
