Jem is a genius... fantastic show. Along with Tony Banks, he is my keyboard guru. He knows how to use his synths as well. His RUclips of programming Black Light Machine on his Roland Fantom G6 is brilliant... The new album is a masterclass in prog. Amazing...
Super cool episode with one of my musical heroes. I'm still coming to grips with the idea that Craig's drum parts were played on pads - I would have never known. The drumming is amazing. With regards to Cubase - I stopped using it years ago because it had too many issues. I'm sure it's better now, but I love Logic Pro, and it's a heck of a lot cheaper in the short run and the long run. Cubase will break with every other new Mac OS, requiring a paid update.
His Electronic album must be entitled, "Music in the Typwriting Room II" 😊 The man Is one of the currently living true proper composer in the likes of Bach, Motzart.. etc... ❤
Great show as always. Are the musicians that regularly play with Jem Godfrey perma-frost? I find myself in a similar boat to Kent with Cubase. You get to a certain age and you think well do I need to learn every new DAW that comes out or do I stick to the one I already know well, so I settled on Cubase. I decided when Cubase 11 came out that it was time to buy a genuine version having used the old try before you buy Cubase 5 for years. I did own a genuine version of 4 but the dongle is just about holding together having broken it once before. I still use 11 as my latest version Cubase 12 won't run older 32 bit plugins that I still like using. I thought I'd skip 13 and buy 14 and boy has that version has come around far too speedily. Kerching! I want a resonably recent version of Cubase to run the GForce & Cherry Audio software I've bought over the last couple of years. Not impressed tbh.
Brill interview, thank you so much chaps.
Thanks for interviewing the most inspirational keyboard legend next to Thomas Dolby, great show guys
