I have never supported anyone on Patreon, but I would definitely throw in a fiver for you. You have provided me with free content for years, and it is the least I can do. I believe a lot of fans feel the same way.

I think I speak for alot of the hat films community when I say this. If you set up a patreon, that would go to making more videos, skits, racing trebants etc I'm sure all of us would support you!

personally, I wouldn't put any money towards it because frankly I'm accustomed to youtube being free, and while I like youtube and most of the content on hatfilms, it's not really at a point where I think it's worth real cash. I spend roughly £10 on netflix and spotify, because I get a significant quality and quantity of new, often excellently produced content out of it. As much as I like youtube and streams.... It's just not at that level tbh
I sometimes subscribe to the twitch channel because I have Twitch Prime and sometimes wanna catch the VODs
That said, I don't see how anyone could have an issue with you boys setting up a patreon for people who are a bit more generous/ have a bit more spare cash. Literally see no reason why you shouldn't be paid for your time and effort.
Personally, I don’t watch your videos for the gameplay, I watch for your guys sense of humour and conversations, so stopping something like swearing would be a huge negative for me.
Do a patreon and have a $1 a month tier. You don't have to have $20 or $50 tiers where you offer rewards, which always seems to be your argument against it, because you don't want to get locking into having to meet those rewards each month.

If they do nice quotas for it like different tiers, so £1 is your basic thank you for the donation email, then £100+ you get something nice like Skype calls or playing games with them a few times each month, id be up for that

The people who complain about sponsors and patreon (for not greedy channels) are mostly teenagers who don't understand how money and RUclips actually works

I wouldn't say its teens that complain teens are the biggest viewers of RUclips but the only reason I would complain against it is if the tier system got super expensive or the sponsors got special privileges or early access etc which yeah i understand they paid money but not everyone has money to spare or they simply don't have money at all but im sure if anyone had spare cash or any cash at all they would donate something the subscription can be cancelled its not like a permanent thing and idc if the money is for personal use or for projects so i support it just don't make it a ridiculous price or shove it in our faces in videos (do it once or twice but not in every single video) that gets annoying and yeah that's about it

I cannot understate how much I'd /prefer/ you going on Patreon; it's a simple, elegant, powerful solution that goes completely around a vast majority of middle-man issues and puts money directly in your pocket. So what if it means you might actually go and not only make a living, but actually end up in a very good monetary situation? What, we can't enrich people who make great content now?
Consider this my absolute and no-holds barred recommendation to pick up Patreon.

The transparency and honesty that you guys bring to the table is constantly brilliant. Not only consistently entertaining but you guys really care about engagement and your fans. Respect. And Patreon has my backing alllll the way
The climate of RUclips has changed more towards outside supports for funds for creators. Since RUclips is censoring so much, the only way good content will survive is outside funds. Merch is good , but I think that people have to understand that creators need money to keep creating. Do what you need to do to survive. If I had money I would support everyone I can. But I have to be honest I wasn't always like that, only with my understanding of the world has my perspective changed.

Patreon is honestly a great idea. A single dollar given on patreon is more than something like a few hundred views without adblock. The only thing you have to be careful of is a feeling of exclusiveness. It should be treated as a tip jar, not as a ticket stand or paywall. Don't have pay tiers over $20 at the most, and even then it shouldn't reward anything more than different-colored names on a discord or something, and thanks.

I don't know for most people, but my favorite videos from any channel are just when it's a group having fun and bsing with each other. TTT stuff either here or on the main channel is my favorite.

The community you three have built is that of long time fans and supporters. I have been watching for years, and I want to continue to watch. If I can pay for a gym membership I never use, then I sure as hell can pay some forward with patreon.
You should use Patreon for the HatChat PodCast...over a certain funding level take HatChat on the road with more regular HatGear car travel vlogs...

I've been here since the Minecraft 1.7 trailer, while I sometimes miss that era, your quality content (vlogs, live-action stuff) is what has always been my favourite part. The game content is just sprinkles on that beautiful donut!
Patreon isn’t stealing money. I don’t get why people are complaining (I doubt many actually are). This is your job, we love you, so it’s only natural we pay you (in some way); what’s amazing is that we choose if we donate or not.

I have stuck with this channel for about 5 years now and still find entertainment in your videos. The parts I enjoy most are the personalities of each of you mixed with the dynamic of the episodes, seeing new games I may or may not be interested in, and the quality of the content. I will continue to support through the means I have available and watching until the channel itself has died or disbanded. Cheers to another 5 years, my dudes.
Damn you didn’t answer my question about music streams. Oh well. This was still a great video! Some interesting answers in there as well as some hilarious stuff. Please please please do not stop swearing in vids, I feel like it would take away from your content and the topics you talk about and is one of the main things you use for comic effect (nothing bad about that). I would honestly pay a subscription to watch you guys from £1 a month or something like that and I feel you have a loyal enough audience that many others would also commit to this if you offered it to us as an optional thing. I understand you have twitch and subscribers on the platform but as I am usually busy and only have time to watch your videos rather than watch a full stream I would rather pay a cheaper monthly cost just for your RUclips than the £5 or however much it is on twitch (which I imagine you do not get all of anyway).

So I've been watching for a couple years now, and as someone who started watching as a teenager at home and am now starting a career, I personally would much rather support you via patreon than do something like pay for a TV licence just to watch BBC iPlayer. You guys are always very transparent and I think people appreciate that.
youtubes algorithm is learning, but its learning all the wrong things. By now the algorithm that was released to the youtube public should have learned how to do its job properly
Love what you do guys. You'll get support from your real fans no matter what you do or how you do it.
Whether it's RUclips, Patreon or any other form of media, just keep doing what your doing and pumping out that quality content we all know your capable of. I personally prefer the short series and bigger projects over long drawn out series. It keeps people interested with more varied content

What you guys do really well is entertaining commentary. For example, I rarely watch your GTA playlist videos, but I'll listen to them while I'm doing something else. I feel Hatfilms would do really well in the realm of podcasts because of your ability to create engaging discussions that have good humour. People could listen to your content more often through podcasts because it doesn't take as much time as sitting down to watch a video.
hat films are my favourite channel on RUclips and if they want to open a patreon that's fine with me at the end of the day its optional to support them they're not forcing money out of our hands and to anyone who does support them if they get extra content thats also fine at the end of the day they pay towards the creation of that content why shouldn't they get a little extra

These days, out of all the channels I'm subscribed to, Hat Films has been the only one where I watch each vid they put out. The different games, the banter, being able to just listen to the boiks talk about topics whilst doing something else.
There is nothing wrong with having a Patreon. People will pay or they won't, but to not have one available because of a vocal minority who probably aren't going to pay you whatever the revenue stream, seems very ill-advised.
With how many years I've been watching you guys, you damn sure deserve my support if you go for Patreon. I will happily go for it if you boyes do it.

I think you should totaly do patreon. Then let the people who want to "donate"/subscribe to it do it. The rest of the people who don't have the money or the interest aren't forced to pay anything. Maybe i'm not the average viewer but I don't shed off you guys when your content changes. I just enjoy listening to you guys ramble about nonsense during the videos, regardless what game you play or which krispy kreme you visit.
Patreon sounds fine with me, I definitely get more entertainment value out of you knob heads than Netflix and I pay a tenner a month for that. If it meant you could keep doing what you do but more often and with more of a safety blanket for riskier, larger projects, sounds good.

The reason why they don't have 1mill is because they have too many inside jokes, so when someone new sees the channel they just see three guys screaming and being weird. Funny if you get it though.
