I love we got all 3 of these in one go. From the moment that David slipped up in Episode 8 and killed that woman who was just like his own mom, he was stuck repeating the cycle that lead to his own pain, but he still managed to find a way to turn his spiral into something that saved the person he loved and destroyed what pulled him down.
Rebecca's still my favourite character from anything in a long time, and she went out exactly like she lived.
For why Lucy's kiss "cures" Davids Cyberpsychosis:
Cyberpsychosis is heavily linked to your mental health. The Cybwerware makes it very easy for you to dissociate from reality once your mental health goes down the drain. In the game theres some side missions where you neutralize cyberpsychos and then investigate what happened and in all cases some pretty bad stuff happened to the cyberpsycho in recent times. So when Lucy who is Davids support system kisses him he comes back to normal. This would likely not be permanent and David would need to downgrade heavily immediatly to get rid of the cyberpsychosis for good.
Another very interesting thing is that David from the start was practically made to be an edgerunner. One of the first things we learn about David is that he attends Arasaka high to fufill his moms dream, then he promises to take Lucy to the moon to fufill her dream, David doesn't have a dream of his own he is someone who does a lot of self sacrificing and this type of martyrdom is glorified among Edgerunners. After all you are remembered for how you die not how you lived and David did become a legend in Night City for going out in a blaze of glory.
And for Ron I can't recommend the game enough. It was probably my favorite playthrough out of any game I played.

For a month when I listened that song a single tear always dropped
This show was amazing but also very emotionally draining. It definitely took it's toll of depression on me for a long period of time. Just losing all the likeable characters that you grew to have a bond with from the beginning to just taking them away in the end. It was really heartbreaking, but it's something that has to be accepted within Night City. As Johnny Silverhand says from the game. "A happy ending? For folks like us?... Wrong city...Wrong people..."

What I got from that, is that you have to be the good you bring into the world. Other people are doing it, but they go away too quickly.

The “2nd season” Will follow a new protagonist and story. Fans believe that since David’s story followed the games origin story for the street kid that the next project will follow one of the 2 other series origin options
Glorian wanted David to be on top of Arasaka and being respected by everyone. In a twisted way he fulfilled her dream, he went there and he was respected by EVERYONE around him, even Faraday and Adam Smasher had to recognize that he was a badass.
When I finished this episode a was devasted man, I simply stood there for 10 minutes without knowing what to do, with a tear flowing. This anime deserved it without a shadow of a doubt anime of the year, for a week a couldn't stop thinking about this fucking episode lol There's no happy ending in Night City!
35:50 this is actually a really great point I hadn't thought of. Totally agree, the quick investment into the characters was masterfully crafted by the writers. Honestly the ending never gets easier, I have the same reaction watching it now as I did nearly 2 years ago.
Also there are so many foreshadowing that David would've died. Like for example in episode 4/5 probably, Lucy basically said you become an edgerunner by how you DIE. And there are so many more foreshadowing, but which were pretty subtle, but after the ending you realise it was right in your face.
If you didn’t realize, the Opening literally showed David getting his brains blown out, and the silhouette of the person behind the gun wasn’t Faraday or Adam Smasher; it was “Night City” itself.
Giancarlo Esposito plays them villain roles so well.
They did say Militech was only after the Skeleton. David and his crew could have run and let them take it, but Lucy would have been delivered to Arasaka.
Can't believe Adam Smasher doesn't take fall damage. No amount of cyberware prevents that in the game.
The whole soundtrack is taken from the radio stations in the game. Mostly the Body Heat and Vexelstrom stations.
luckliy for all of us, another Cyberpunk anime was just recently announced, no details as of yet, but the ones who produced the first one will be back at it again!

Fun fact, David has his own drink in the bar in the game. Also you can get Rebeccas gun and there's other easter eggs for Edgerunners.

Cowboy bebop, og robotech, and now cyberpunk edge runners. All shows with 12 episodes roughly that just full on grab you. All 3 are full of tragedy.

there's another anime project for cyberpunk but it wont be edgerunners. David's story is over. It will be another story of a different legend in night city.

Well it’s confirmed cyberpunk is getting a s2 but I’m not sure if it’s following David’s storyline, honestly I could see how they’d do s2 since Adam smasher said “David could prove to be an interesting construct”
It's likely going to be set in between Cyberpunk 2077 and it's sequel ( which CDPR has stated they will eventually make).

I don't think there will be a continuation of this story since it is pretty much over but netflix announced that a new cyberpunk anime is happening, but that's all that's all we know.

I had my fun killing Adam Smasher on the game, while using Becca's shotgun.
Yeah there wont be a second season, the purpose I guess was to make people go play the game, and in a way it worked for me at least haha because you get to take revenge on Adam and some easter eggs about the anime characters.

Yo Dr Stone would be great, really fun cozy anime with a good balance of excitement and some action but upbeat and sometimes slice-of-life. Would be a good pick!

The ending is so depressing because David is entirely to blame for how things turned out. Because of how avoidable all of this was.
David had many signs and at the very LATEST David should have noticed that the edge runner life and the entire city is not for him after Maine died. But he doubled down. Stupidly went THE SAME path as Maine although he was right there to see where it led him. The right move would have been to leave the fucking city .. Not to the damn moon, just some other place. No matter how shitty the future is they paint for us, there will always be places for normal people to live in.
I only felt bad for Lucy because she fell in love with a foolish child who had a completely immature outlook on life.
