Nice video! I mean the HID I had no idea about and was not mensioned in Xsonic videos or other reviews that I've seen so thats great! I bought the Airstep lite & widi jack for a cheap and powerful way to control my Axe FX III purly in the studio as I do not play live , not keen on the price of the fractal footunits and I only need basic scene switching/block on off. but realised the airstep actually goes above and beyond what I thought it could do. the app to program it is so well made and easy. I just love it! it fits on my pedal board too! had it for a week and its been rock solid so far
Can you please create a guide to get it to connect and work as a computer keyboard? I really just want to cycle presets in Guitar Rig 7 with the airstep but I cannot figure out how to do anything.
This is all well and good, and I'm glad technology has become this advanced, but there's still the matter that there will be some equipment that you still need at your feet onstage that aren't able to be powered via battery. So there'll still be cabling regardless, at least for the foreseeable future. Cabling is obviously annoying but it's sadly still a very prominent presence in our lives.
Not a problem for those who have gone 100% computer. My new rig doesn't even require mains power as a car battery powers everything. The PA amp is a car audio amplifier. 1) Inexpensive W10 tablet 2) "Gig Performer 3" as VST host 3) Native Instruments Guitar Rig 4) VST synths and drums 5) MIDI Guitar by Jam Origin 6) Audio interface with lots of I/O which can be dynamically rerouted by Gig Performer Because the tablet was only $200, I have an identical backup and both are dedicated to this purpose. 👍
Whatever you need cabling for, you don't need on stage. I was doing a simple version of this already in the 90's only running a single 30m midi cable with power to the stage front. Everything else (minus cabs) was in the rack, including the wireless receiver for the guitar.
Hi Tom, great video.. so I could use it to manage my NeuralDsp plugins by also connecting my analog pedals.right? For someone like me who's never had a Midi Controller, do you think it's too complicated to learn? Thank you very much. Diego
My question also. There are a few home-made foot switches for the Spark, so there is obviously a way to input signals- but no idea if the Airstep can control it. Hoping someone can chime in. SPARK: WIRED CONNECTIVITY 1/4" Guitar Input 1/8" Aux Input 1/8" Headphone WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY Bluetooth Audio USB AUDIO USB Interface for Recording 1 In x 2 Out
Does anyone know when he says you can have up to 8 commands at once, does that mean I can press 1 foot switch and it could send a MIDI message and a Bluetooth message simultaneously?
04.Aug/2022 Tank you Tom. If you are looking for a Bluetooth pedal that can control the Katana Air, here's some clarification: When switching the sound from crunch in mode 2 to clean with the Airstep BW on the panel, the Xsonic Airstep BW needs up to 1 second to switch from crunch to clean sound, which is too long for me personally! The Airstep Update App also runs stable on Android, but the update almost always fails! I can only recommend the Airstep BW if you accept that the switching time is 1 second when switching to the clean channel on the Katana Air's panel. The problem is not with the amp but with the Xsonic Airstep BW Bluetooth controller pedal. Besides this one latency switching problem, the Airstep BW controller is very good! *Xsonic manufacturers: Can you fix this issue in the next update? 🔜🎸📻🔆 Good to know: The Boss Katana Librarian App does not support the Katana Air! *Can Roland boss solve the problem and add the Katana Air to the list? 📜 *Question for you musicians: Have any of you tested the Boss EV-1-WL with Boss FS6 or FS-7 and what is the switching time before switching the Katana Air? Thank you for your willingness to help. (guitar teacher and repair service) 🙋♂
Hi Tom, Very good tutorial really like the way you present and cover everything in detail Brilliant thanks Les.

i know this is a guitar channel and about guitar stuff and you're a guitar master, but holy smokes. that b-roll is fantastic!
Almost perfect! I only wish they would make a small receiver/cable-interface without footswitches to bundle with the Lite controller.
Really helpful. Love your genuinely helpful style. Thanks.
Very interesting product. Thanks for reviewing, Tom.

Whats the difference in the selection. There's like 7 or 8 to choose from.

This was a great tutorial! Also, your music is great! Are there any links to it?
How is the computer software studio one talking to the Airstep device Bluetooth? Needs a specific Bluetooth driver ?
Is there any information available on how to switch between midi and HID and back ? Can the same switch be configured for both ? Thx
can it controll wirelessly for example a TC Gmajor if the rack´s midi input and out put are connected by another wireless adpator?
Hello… work with Bias FX, Amplitube, Guitar Rig, Neural Dsp plugins and others?
Yes indeed.
Nice Tom!!
My cell or tablet won't pair with the airstep kat

Does it work with the Positive Grid Spark?

No 300 hour video? I'm sensing a lack of commitment.
looks like a $50 Arduino project.
With its own bluetooth app? amazing, I'll get right on it!
