I am Buddhist from Bangladesh and feeling sad for these ruins.. I have read about Taxila in our religious books and about Greco - Buddhist culture. After the Kushan empire and emperor Kansîka.. once it was a centre for educations and knowledge, now only ruins are remain😞The land of Buddha is no longer belong to his follower😞as Buddha said ‘nothing is permanent’, have to accept this impermanence.
You could consider coming to the place and reviving the old teachings.

I really want to visit the historical places in Pakistan and study them. Taxila, Makli, Rohtas, Mohenjodaro are such amazing sites. I hope Pakistan is preserving them well. How much I wish that we never seperated as a country. There has only been hatred and conflict so far.

We have so much here and are stumbling around to preserve all of them.Pakistan inherited a few and important ones from India but still doing a bad job at preserving them. Majority of people in Pakistan are descendants of the invaders while sites like Takshashila and Mohenjodaro are far older than Islam itself ( brought up Islam since Pakistan was created for Islamists). So, it isn't part of their history alone but of the entire Indian subcontinent.

I was student of UET Taxila and I studied there for 4 years. Sirkap remains was at 5 min walk from university and we would come here for a morning walk and sometimes celebrate birthday parties here. My heart aches to see this. I miss my university days!

@@pcgamingonyt5798 Not really. The first mauryan emperor i.e. chandragupta maurya followed sanatan dharma. Then later in his life he became a jain monk. His successors though adopted buddhism. Then there is the hindu shahi dynasty(Raja jayapala and Raja Anandpala) which ruled the region from 850 until 1026 AD and zunbil dynasty from 680 to 870 AD.

@@javedsultan4830 😂😂🤣 good sense of humor. Yes it was Buddhist but Hinduism also used to teach there. Vedas and astrology used to study there. And yeah Pakistan name first came in to existence after 1940. Pakistan is a showcase example of how religious conversions turn the same people against each others. We both share common cultural heritage but only change in religion of particular group brought the violence to the land.
