A year ago, on Simchat Torah, 1200 innocent lives were stolen from us at the Nova Music Festival, turning a joyful holiday into the start of unimaginable sorrow. As we reflect on this day, we face a deep complexity-how do we mourn the ones we’ve lost and continue to lose while celebrating and sanctify this supposed to be happy Jewish holiday?
Ocean Eyes for me is about crying, sadness, grief. All eyes on the strip of the Mediterranean ocean we expelled our own people from, gave to terrorists in vain hopes of peace as they used it to attack and butcher us as brutally as possible. 💔💫
Lets honor the memory of those we lost by continuing to live, love, celebrate life and make better choices. This song is for those moments when we feel the weight of it all. May their memories be a blessing, and may we never stop celebrating the life they lived and stop giving land for peace to terrorists who use it to destabilize the middle east and take thousands of innocent lives.
