You should start your preparation. The less you focus on answer keys or cut off marks, the better it will be for you. I know it is easier to say than implement it but I am saying this from my own experience. Don't let this time pass just because people/videos/coaching institutes make you confused/doubt yourself. Take a break of one or two dys and then start your mains preparation journey with full force. Avoid social media and other distributions for a month. You will surely be better off and better prepared for the examination.

So start your mains preparation at earliest without going into negative thinking zone. Because onece you are there, it will be difficult to come back. And result positive aaya to again you will blame yourself. So avoid thinking this part and focus on mains exam.
It depends whether you have attempted more comprehension questions or questions from other sections. Mostly, in comprehension questions, there is great variation b/w answer keys of coaching institutes and that of UPSC.

Anything above 80 is good enough for you to start your mains preparation. So, don't fall in this trap of checking your answers from multiple keys and then pondering over cut off.
Start your mains preparation ASAP as it's already 20 June and mains is a different battle, you need to fight it with everything you have got. Start with optional subject and ethics paper and try to comprehensively complete it in the next 30 days.

Very comfortably you will clear prelims exam.
I would say if attempt is 90,good candidate could easily get 60 correct. So cut off would be around 100.
The problem with this theory is that you are assuming that every good aspirants have attempted 90 questions and 60 right answers. However, seeing the trend of last few years, not many have dared to attempt 90+ questions and also event best of the aspirats with good knowledge may not translate their knowledge into right answers in the exam hall.
Having said so, we all are guessing based on our understanding.

I would not say impossible because that would arrogant and playing God.😅
But most certainly, it would not be that high. In 2016, cut off was 116 and that was mostly because around 60 questions came from current affairs and that too from expected topics (covered by monthly magazines of various coaching institutes).
And this is not the case this year.

Cover your optional and ethics extensively. Just don't let this time pass otherwise December kab aa jayega pta nhi chalega. And You will again start your prelims preparation. In this process, your mains preparation (especially optional and ethics) will be compromised.

Yes there is chance as there is 5-6 questions are in confusion zone, so very likely that your overall score is going to cross above 80. So, start your mains preparation ASAP and try to cover ethics and optional subject comprehensively and extensively in next 30 days.

That is what this fuss about cut off discussion and answer key match results in. You have to ignore this noise for next one month and focus on your mains preparation. Otherwise, you might be in guilt for lifelong that you cleared prelims but couldn't make it to interview because you didn't trust yourself.
So better trust yourself and start your mains preparation with full commitment and continuity

I know it's difficult time for you my friend. I have been there. Last attempt and in doubt whether your dream would shatter or materialize in reality.
I know you are experienced enough to understand what's cut could be. So, i won't give you any gyan about it. But at the same time, I would say you have given so many years for this and it won't hurt if you give 30 more days with full dedication and commitment irrespective of the result. However, if you waste your these 30 days and you qualify prelims and couldn't make it to interview, the pain will be unbearable. You will be blaming yourself for years.
