👍👍👍 I can confirm your comments on the sonic mole deterrents. I had placed several in a smallish area in my garden. At first I believed they were deterring the moles. Then mole hill’s appeared in an area around and between the deterrents. On removing them I found one where a mole had tunnelled up to the device, then around it and carried on its merry way. 😨🤔😂

Also confirm they are worthless for moles & voles

When B&Q a chain hardware store in the UK opened stores here in the north of Ireland. They ordered in lots of mole traps etc, just like they did for any other stores in the UK. Seems nobody told them we don't actually have moles in Ireland...

I enjoyed that, I got a chuckle or two! I’m glad I haven’t fallen for any of those things! It’s amazing what people can dream up to separate us from our money!

I have shallow raised beds on loam soil which I work no dig. I often pot on my seedlings into 3” pots to plant out larger. I can get an earlier start under cover and the larger plants resist pests better. In my case the bulb planter works perfectly, creating a hole just right for the 3” plug plant. Best wishes.

Thank you. I do like my self watering pots with the wicks for some water loving plants. My fern and calathea love them too. ❄️💚🙃

I like my bulb planter. I have been known to stand on it to get it down so I suspect I have a heavy duty one. I use it to remove strong weeds and transplant things like crocus and snow drops with less damage to the roots than a spade.

I use bulb planters, they work great, I have used them for years. I have one that is heavy duty, stainless and about 3' tall so I can push it in with my foot. They go down about 6". I agree with the rest of you recommendations.

There is one exception to Epsom Salt and that is Hydroponic Systems... In mine, I use Master Blend 4-18-38 with Calcium Nitrate 15.5-0-0 and Magnesium for proper uptake of the Calcium.

A bulb planter is a pretty good bulb unplanter for crow garlic though I suggest one that's designed to be driven into the ground with considerable force.

Dog rocks: if your dog is getting enough water to begin with, their urine won't be that strong to do any damage. Same as human urine, if you don't get enough hydration, your urine will be dark.
Suncal: you can't just look out the window to see how the light is in a given day, like 12 hours.
Self watering pots: go to the dollar store, buy an inexpensive glass or plastic goblet that is bigger than your pot and viola!

Great stuff :) Having a wonderful season here in southern Australia, more productive than ever for fruit, veg and flowers. Only problem is spring tails multiplying like mad. I actually hit some of them with fly spray today out of desperation...

Hello Mate. I just found your most excellent channel and I love it. I think your ideas make really good sense and are crammed with valuable information most useful to us gardeners. I have an allotment in Oxfordshire UK. On the subject of 'dog rocks' my old dad told me that male dogs wander about peeing little and often doing little damage, but bitches pee more infrequently and dump the whole lot in one place, causing big dead patches on the lawn!
    Keep up the good work,
    Regards
    Vic

Epsom salt can be useful for gardeners. they can take a Epsom salt bath. Mg can be absorbed through human skin. 😃

@@Gardenfundamentals1 my dr told me magnesium bath is one of the option.🤔 there are magnesium cream, oil and spray to apply on the skin. not sure it works or not.
i don't take chances. i take magnesium chelate tablet everyday.

@@Gardenfundamentals1 I have tried a magnesium/oil rub that can sting if you use a decent amount, like more than 4 drops, not sure if that's the magnesium but if it is then it must penetrate to the nerves??
