The Briscoes' Double Dog Collar Match against FTR at Final Battle is one of my favorite matches I have seen live in person. It was Tag Team Wrestling at its peak and a match of the year contender. I will forever cherish that moment since it was on the same week of my 23rd birthday. Rest Easy, Jay Briscoe.
The best match they had with FTR and the ending was awesome great way for jay BRISCOE life to end he had an awesome wresting life and awesome life with his family and friends too we love you jay and miss you so much
Hearing the devastating news a year ago shocked me too the core Jay your legacy is still remembered to this day RIP to one half to one of the greatest Tag Teams of all time. Very classy & respectful by AEW to bring The Briscoe Family here on this time.
Jesus Christ the persistence of that young lady to prove the doctors wrong. Had an incident similar with a bad series of burns and a broken neck a few years ago and it just makes me proud of anyone told they can't do anything but proving them wrong. Cried like a baby again. Enjoyed watching Jay in ROH for 20 years but never knew about the man outside the ring until the reaction after his passing. We lost a great pro wrestler but clearly an even better father/husband/brother/son
It sure doesn't feel like it's been a year. You expect to see Jay out there with Mark until you realize that he's not there in person. I'm sure we're all happy to see his daughters are able to walk. And, today as I'm typing this, its Mark's Birthday. As someone who lost their sister 4 days before their Birthday, I can sort of relate to Mark and family have dealt with in the past year. As Dem Boyz/Briscoe Brothers they were one of a kind. They could do technical, brawls, cages, ladders, and dog collar matches. The crazy thing is the last 3 matches Jay wrestled with his brother against FTR is maybe one of the greatest trilogies of tag wrestling in history. Plus Jay was an incredible Singles wrestler, and was an even better promo guy. He is missed

That match they had against each other in CZW in like 2000/2001 when they were 17 and 16 respectively was incredible for their ages and for the time it happened. Wish we coulda gotten more singles outings between those two aside from the select few that did actually occur.

On one hand, it still just doesn't feel right not seeing Jay right there with Mark whenever he comes out because he didn't deserve to go so soon especially not in the way he did but on the other, it's awesome to see Mark carrying on the Briscoe name and keeping Jay's memory alive. A full year later and I think we're all still gobsmacked that Jay's gone and we still miss him, but as long as Mark is around and we remember just how goddamn good of a team they were, they'll never be forgotten.
