As john john gets older his surfing is only getting more beautiful and refined. While he's still looking for that third world title, I would love to see him just making movies and hunting waves...I feel like his surfing has expanded past the need foro WSL. Big love to you, John.
Ahhh Portugal 🥰🥰🥰 I had the glorious gift of surfing Portugal in the late 70's on my twin fins ... nobody, and I mean nobody there!!!! Having a surfboard was a total novelty and people used to look at us like we were alines from another world back then ... perfect waves all to ourselves every day all day.
We took a picture in the parking lot of the beach in Peniche, thank you very much Johnny and good luck for what comes in Australia, a big hug from Barcelona friend 🤙
I was out in the middle of " Central California", some place called" Lemorre" and " J.J.F" and his brothers did pull- up.Stoked" We found work close to this amazing wave, picking Fruits with," Illegal Aliens"...
Great foam climb at the end of the first minute, John -_- followed by such versatility in 2 backside rotations on the same wave. it's Excellent to see you shift your feet before the 2nd inside backside 360, & then see those awesome canine close exits, and left exit make at the end..Yes Kolohe, I surf like this too!! ....For the Dream is Infinite..
Absolutely powerful turns dug in trails, spray off, long smooth complete fluid just beautiful to watch. He clearly shows his power when the waves are huge. Not to many surfers hold, dig, the trail as powerful as JJF. Others are short and choppy. A joy to witness

❤ what perfection. dang. just to even paddle out into those waves (which by the way are so my style), and pull into the barrel or navigate sections and walk away unscathed enough to talk about it would be enough of an ask of mere mortals, and then there you are, doing the most absurd ferocious backside snaps in the most critical part of the wave, while ugly beautiful relentless perfect dirt disaster shore break is pitching so hard in water so shallow and disturbed it looks like Ovaltine :) sick :)
Wow that was pretty sick. It’s crazy how everything is sliding and letting go through you backhand snaps but some how you ( hold onto the water ) it’s so good to watch. It’s therapeutic.
Beautiful in both the sport...and the editing...of surfing excellence...while I will, of course, never ascend to the heights displayed in this video, it still makes me dream...I sent this to my non-surfing friends as being the highest example of the art of surfing...thanks to all who made this, truly top shelf...dj
