This is the ULTIMATE One Button Prot Paladin Guide - Cataclysm Classic. Follow this guide to improve your tanking by:
- Picking the correct talents and glyphs
- Reforging the correct stats.
- Using my AWESOME 1 button rotation macros. Removing the need to track cooldowns and keybinds!
- Tracking and managing party threat with SUF & Clique

Remember to use Seal of Truth but if you find yourself in a situation where you are taking a large amount of incoming damage switch to Seal of Insight for a small amount of self-healing!!

Guardian of the Ancient Kings is 5 mins down to 3 (NOT 3 down to 1) with 3/3 Shield of the Templar. Sorry for the fake news! My bad, I made this vid during the pre-patch and the tooltip said 3 minutes (obviously already affected by the talents) /facepalm
Pro tip: If you are using GSE, each time you type out a spell, say /cast Avenger's Shield, hit save. The macro will turn blue, then you can use it. Do this for every spell.
ALso add a holy shield in their as well
this seem like a better rotation
Avenger's Shield (if it’s off cooldown and not needed for pulling).
Judgment (to generate Holy Power and apply the Judgment debuff).
Crusader Strike (primary Holy Power generator).
Hammer of the Righteous (use if facing multiple enemies, otherwise use Crusader Strike).
Holy Wrath (use when other abilities are on cooldown).
Shield of the Righteous (when you have 3 Holy Power, use for a high threat single-target attack).
Consecration (use if other abilities are on cooldown and you have enough mana).
AoE Rotation
Avenger's Shield (if it’s off cooldown and not needed for pulling).
Hammer of the Righteous (primary Holy Power generator for AoE).
Judgment (to generate Holy Power and apply the Judgment debuff).
Holy Wrath (use when other abilities are on cooldown).
Consecration (use if other abilities are on cooldown and you have enough mana).
Shield of the Righteous (when you have 3 Holy Power, use for a high threat attack, even in AoE situations).

You c an use modifier keys for aoe and st in same macro.
Also castsequence is better with modier key usage.
That will surely tank good but if u're after a way more better u need castsequance and modifier keys.
Would you happen to have examples? Looking to modify this one but trying to learn how to macro properly
@@christophersnedeker276 when you use /castsequence you just type the spell separated by commas, so for example: /castsequence judgement, avenger's shield (type properly, link from the spellbook, and remove the rank number so it works while leveling, dunno if ranks are a thing yet in cata lol), so you click that button and the 1st time will cast judgement, and second avenger's shield, sort it however you want
BUT castsequence macros have an issue, if the skill is on cd, it will stay stuck in that same spot and u won't cast stuff (so if you typed /startattack before the castsequence it will autoattack, if not it will just stare the enemy), that's why ppl type reset conditions right after the castsequence, like : /castsequence reset=5 judgement, avenger's shield means if after 5 secs u don't press the macro it goes back to 1st step of the sequence, judgement
also some ppl instead use the "if i change target, the sequence goes back to 0 because the macro i'm using has no cd on it", that would be /castsequence reset=target judgement, avenger's shield (yes, both have cd so it wouldn't work when changing target if they're on cd)
if u wanna add modifiers to the type of objective, they go after the castsequence but before the reset, for example /castsequence [@focustarget,harm][@target,harm][] reset=5 judgement, avenger's shield
it will cast it 1st in your focus, if it's an enemy (and if u have 1 focus), if not, it will cast it in your current target, if it's an enemy (and if u have 1 target)
you could also add another modifier to cast it if the focus/target isn't dead for extra lazyness or even mouseover (so you can cast on another target while doing your things) that would be /cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][], look that i'm not using castsequence cause i think it's not useful, but u could have a /castsequence [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] reset=5

Guardian of Ancient Kings is a 5 min cd, reduced to 3 with the talent, not down to 1 minute.

A great question mate, its always good to be cautious but NO, GSE is fine to use and it breaks no T&Cs
Isnt it possible to just write a castsequence macro?
Yes, but cast sequence macros wont move onto the next spell untill the current spell has been cast or the reset time elapses meaning many of your spells will be off cooldown and waiting to go! GSE doesnt do that, it just attempts the cast and moves on meaning that all of your rotation are cast as soon as they come off of cooldown which massively increases your threat and dps!!
From what level can the 1 button macro be used?
You can add it to your bars and spam from level 1, new abilities will become available as soon as you learn them

I'm abroad on holiday at the moment mate but when I return I'll be updating my discord with all my UI weak auras
I'm trying to hold my expertise at 26% and hit 8% but then mastery is lacking. I have been reforging all my gear to hit and expertise while my avoidance lands on 74%
Is this the right way to do it or should I reforge into mastery and lose all hit and expertise?
Right now my hit is just below 8% while expertise are at 23%. avoidance at 75%
Is that 26% Exp with your Seal active? At this point in the game Id lose that 1% in Mastery and take the Exp and Hit mate - you'll pick up Mastery in later progression. Hows it going though? The Pala feeling Stronk?
@@nieubarmy it's currently 23% with seal. Gear upgrade made me lose about 3% expertise even after the reforge.
It's going alright, but I bleed, it hurts, I really need to play with my defensives, but even then it hurts.. But I'll manage. Done all raids on normal. Nefarian made me bleed really bad.
I want to correct myself. I meant 75% avoidance, not mastery.

Repeat with however many people exist in your party. Can even do it for an entire raid if you remove the party slot of the other tank so you don't taunt a boss.

did you click create icon 1st? This will auto create a macro in your macro tab which will be used when you click it

I'm assuming 1 button macro does not work without the compiler. Regarding that: Would you be at risk of incurring a Ban for macroing by using this. Historically it feels as if blizzard have taken steps to remove a lot of such macros from being able to work.
The only other option would be a cast sequence macro but the issue with these is that every spell in the sequence has to be cast before the next can whereas GSE doesnt do this - it attempts to cast then moves straight onto the next. GSE is allowed by Blizzard, it breaks no Terms of Service so no worries there!!
Ban? Haha yeah right you do know that is a addon for it GSE and Lazymacro homepage. Just copy and paste in the GSE addon. Iv’e been using it since BFA 😂
You could do something like this without an addon, but would need all your bars. 1 button would just cycle through your bars until an ability is up:
/startattack
/cast Avenger's Shield
/changeactionbar [nocombat]1;[combat]2
/startattack
/cast Judgement
/changeactionbar 3
/startattack
/cast Crusader Strike
/changeactionbar 4
/startattack
/cast Hammer Of Wrath

This is interesting Im gnna look into it. The only thing that would stop me from doing this is the use of all those action bars, for example, if i wanted to use another spell like rebuke it would have to be bound to each one of those actionbars for it to always be available!
@@nieubarmyyeah it’s a weird set up for sure, used to use it a lot on warriors with stance dancing. This add-on seems great though, super helpful video!
how is that even a 1 button macro if you must spend holy power manually, cast consrecration \ holy wrath manually...
1 button rotation! could put it all on 1 button but that wouldnt be great
why seal of truth over seal of insight? insight heals you and keeps your mana full .... in world farming .... at least no?
@@scottlavale1502 def switch to insight if you find yourself struggling for health or mana but in my experience se far in Cata I've hardly needed it.. what about you?
@@nieubarmy well in dungeons leveling and in questing itd almost a must. Depending on the healers ... lets be honnest the grade of quality players isint what i was back in the day. Im seing things in dungeons never seen before. But def.... the other aura seems pretty good, im still testing it out. Also i wanted to say ...i added the holy shield to the 1 2 3 macro.

@@chrisbalcu4033 most people in wow don't care (or even think) about how much effort people are putting into their gaming. They just want groups and raids to perform well. These macros are helping lots of players to perform better and giving them the confidence to tank. This to me is a win
@@nieubarmy the macros presented in this clip require you use a third party option wich goes against TOA of Blizz. Not a win. Im not against macros but use those wich are ok with TOA. But one button rotation macros requiring extreme measures are a big no no. And above that the macro here wont even work cause the math is bad on Guardian
