surf fishing 2022

The fall feeding frenzy is on along the Texas Gulf Coast. The finger mullet migration is in full swing and huge schools of dusky anchovies are moving down the beach with a variety of predators hot after them.
Everything from speckled trout, red drum, skip jack a.k.a. Ladyfish, Jack Crevalle and sharks are feeding on the schools of bait in the surf.
Padre Island National Seashore, just south of Corpus Christi, Texas, provides 60 miles of undeveloped beach for camping, fishing and enjoying the outdoors.
We recently got in on some of the action and it was nearly every cast at times.
