You think this is directed more at eBikes and other small EV’s? The balance leads look a lot more robust like it will balance cells at a much higher current than the usual leads we have at the moment.
@@RTRCTV I don't think they do. They clearly marked it as 'professional' and put in a different section on their webpage. So if you look for rc charger on isdt page, you won't find x16. It is however being adopted by RC Heli world, because 12-16s are normal there and many people await comeback of such packs and chargers.
@@RTRCTV I was hoping that one device would replace all my chargers. and it's very sad that the charger for 700$ has such a limited potential. Because toolkitrc m7ac can safely be considered the best of all. Thanks for the answer
I think Professional means not for hobby use, which is your use case. It's actually a really good fit for our professional use case - we use one type of battery (chemistry, voltage and capacity), need the charging setup to be portable and compact (so charger and power supply combo is not practical), and need the power that it can produce. With regards to the balance lead, I'd rather crimp our own Micro-Fit to JST-XH than having an adapter board with all 15 options.
Totally.. But a good question is.. Why does professional mean that you make the product less capable all round? This is a problem across the board with technology. Thingswith professional often lack the polish that makes them a good product.
Yup. Can't help but feel that isdt chargers are not what they used to be. The originals where just soo much better. I have now sorted myself an icharger.
I bought the charger after using a friends powered by a 2000i gas generator. It was a beast combo. We fly F3A aircraft with two 6s 5000ma batteries, so it is a similar mission as the presenter. To use JST balance board I had to buy two gizmos that accepted the balance board and the wiring that came with the unit. I plugged batteries into the system, created the proper profile, and got an error message referring to abnormal voltage. Nothing worked no matter the changes I made. I observed the balance board voltages are all zero volts except cell #6. I have tried to contact the manufacturer but they do not respond. My friend told me to return it for exchange. I think I have had enough of this manufacturer and will throw the unit into the recycling bin! They can kiss my butt.
ooh... I SPY NEW FOAM!! in the box in the background..... but i digress.... for 500 quid it would still be sitting in the store.. and i understand your reasoning for buying it, but for the fact you can't plug the balance lead in is a killer...
I think you must adjust your expectations for only 5oo BP, in the Netherlands it cost €649,00 ;) No, sorry, it's a joke, the ISDT X16 I mean. *Now, after one year, what are your thoughts about this charger?*
I have the charger. The software is really bad, the phone app does not work, the balance Molex need to be converted to JST and the charger support 16S configuration but they only provide cables for 12S WTF !! is a piece of Junk. I have it because is the only charger to charge 13S,14S Ebikes and my Solar rid 16S LifePo4 batteries. I really recommend the iCHARGER 4512 Duo. That is a really nice charger. I own both but the Duo only support 12S configurations.
Agreed. You know.. Already paid 100 import duty! So will cost loads just to send it back! I will for general purpose make it work. But expected more for my money.
icharger duo and a decent PSU , that's the ticket.
iCharger 4010Duo, 40 amps simultaneously or combine both channels in parallel to achieve up to 70 amp charge rates

Possible. But why then market it to rc modellers?

I think buying a charger which is dedicated to 12s, 14s and 16s to charge 6s packs wasn't a good idea to begin with...
Thanks for this video... Don't think I'm ready for a these stress
Please tell me, can they charge a car and motorcycle battery? Choice of just 4 batteries and no PB🙁
Unless a firmware change.... Not sure it will

You should have balanced boards and all leads included as a pro kit
