It’s cool that our elders who aren’t as physically able anymore can participate in something as monumental as Chinese new year celebrations. There is still room for the young to display their grace and vigor

Most Singaporeans are Hokkien dissendents. They should dance with Hokkien and Hakka lions as well. Those heads are lighter than lions in video. Catonese Lions are everywhere in this world. Hokkien and Hakka lion dances are almost extinct. Same as Braby Lions of Morroco and Egypt.
Singapura meaning in Malay is Lion City. Lion, whether real one or artistic performer, it is making Singapore lunar new year more vibrant, dynamic, and exciting.

i think i've watched the taiwanese lion dance team in a competition and they were using the cantonese lion too and there's way more hokkien people in taiwan, i think it might be due to the popularity of the hk movies that made the cantonese lion the default lion. Anyway this might be a personal opinion but i feel like the hakka lion looks horrendous lol.

There are many kinds of exercises which are suitable for the elderly. Who was the "genius" to come out with the idea of the old people performing the lion dance? Lion dance is definitely not suitable for the elderly. This also tarnishes the image of the Lion Dance.
