It’s cool that our elders who aren’t as physically able anymore can participate in something as monumental as Chinese new year celebrations. There is still room for the young to display their grace and vigor
...and no criticism of the Chinese government, right? OK, I'll try: The world loves Winnie the Pooh and Lionel Messi.= peaceful, not aggressive and positive❤
Most Singaporeans are Hokkien dissendents. They should dance with Hokkien and Hakka lions as well. Those heads are lighter than lions in video. Catonese Lions are everywhere in this world. Hokkien and Hakka lion dances are almost extinct. Same as Braby Lions of Morroco and Egypt. Singapura meaning in Malay is Lion City. Lion, whether real one or artistic performer, it is making Singapore lunar new year more vibrant, dynamic, and exciting.
i think i've watched the taiwanese lion dance team in a competition and they were using the cantonese lion too and there's way more hokkien people in taiwan, i think it might be due to the popularity of the hk movies that made the cantonese lion the default lion. Anyway this might be a personal opinion but i feel like the hakka lion looks horrendous lol.
@@karjeecheng9024 @0:19 - clearly there is no one standing behind the wheelchair. the tail/back end of the lion is far from the wheelchair and the person is only holding up the tail end of the lion.
@@itgirl_nyc Don't know why RUclips won't post my reply, so am trying again. Look at time-stamp 0:15 to 0:21 which shows clearly the wheelchair-handler.
There are many kinds of exercises which are suitable for the elderly. Who was the "genius" to come out with the idea of the old people performing the lion dance? Lion dance is definitely not suitable for the elderly. This also tarnishes the image of the Lion Dance.

❤ proud of that team for helping the seniors out.
Proud of you uncle. It such a great activity for the senior citizens. Keep on 💪💪💪😃
😂😢😊
I remember seeing how hard it is to do it normally.
This is really cool to see the culture be more inclusive.
If only all news headlines were like this. Peaceful. No coercion, no manipulation, no reaction baiting, no opinion making.
