. . . and one does not have to be a Jew to enjoy this delightful holiday music--just as one does not have to be a Christian to enjoy Christmas music. May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob bless us all. My wish, though, is that there would be more Hanukkah for me to enjoy.

My son and I are listening to this and greatly enjoying it as we prepare for Channukkah of 2018. We find it very calming. Thank you for you gift of playing. :)

They do in our family...we have both Messianic Jews as well as "regular" non-Jewish Christians, and we all love each other just as we are and put family first, so the regular Christians in our extended family celebrate our Chanuka with us and we Christmas with them.

@@1InvisibleSongstress Orthodox Judaism itself testifies to the validity of the sacrificial death of Yeshua. The Talmud sadly contains antisemitism and blasphemies against Yeshua and the Gentiles, but the Talmud indirectly confirms that Yeshua was the final sacrifice for sin. Orthodox Judaism teaches that when God gave Moses the Torah, he also gave him an oral law and this oral law was passed down orally from generation to generation, only in the 2nd century was it written down or codified in what is known as the Talmud. The Talmud, which in the eyes of Orthodox Jews is equal to Scripture, says that God rejected the Yom Kippur sacrifices every year from 30 CE to 70 CE (Tractate Yoma 39B). According to the Talmud, there were several signs by which the people would know whether or not Gif had received the sacrifice, and forgiven their sins. First, the priest would draw lots from an urn. One of the lots had the word “L’Ha Shem” written on it. “L’Ha Shem” means “For the LORD”. The other had the words “L’Azazel”, which has the term connected to the ‘scapegoat’. Now if the priest drew the lot “L’Ha Shem” in his right hand, that mean that God had received the sacrifice. However, if it showed up in the left hand, it meant the opposite, that God had rejected the sacrifice. We’re talking about the same result for over 40 years. In fact, if you just tried to flip a coin 5 times in a row with the same result, that’s a 3 in 100 chance. The chances of doing that 40 times in a row is over 1 in 1 trillion, and the Talmud claims that is exactly what happened in the 1st century. Another sign was that a scarlet thread was to the horn of the scapegoat, and it would supernaturally turn white. Actually, part of this thread would be taken from the scapegoat and tied to the temple doors this way the people would be able to see if it turned white or not, and this also did not happen during those 40 years. There were other signs as well, but the main point is this: according to the most respected post, 2nd temple period Jewish document, the Talmud, God rejected the Yom Kippur sacrifices every single year until the temple was destroyed. However, the Talmud fails to mention is what took place in 30 CE - the year that God began to reject the sacrifices. Of course, that was the year that Yeshua became our sacrifice. In 30 CE, the dates that rabbis and sages say that the God of Israel stopped the Yom Kippur sacrifices, Yeshua the Jewish Messiah died for the sins of Israel and the nations.
@@1InvisibleSongstress Let’s look at one prophecy about the Messiah. The Messiah must be born of a virgin. Prophecy: Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 Fulfillment: Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:18, 22-23 This passage should be carefully studied in context. It is a direct prophecy of the virgin birth of the Messiah (Luke 1:26-27). The translators of the Jewish Bible use the word “young woman” instead of “virgin”. It is important to note that culturally, the Hebrew word “almah” almost always referred to an unmarried young woman - which in Isaiah’s day implied virginity. In addition, the authors of the Septuagint, a Greek translation of the Old Testament before Christ, translated this word as “virgin”, which was its meaning in Biblical Hebrew. Given the very explicit reference to this verse by Matthew (1:22/23), there can be no question that Mary completely fulfilled this prophecy about the birth of the Messiah. Catholicism teaches that Mary is a sinless mediator and remained a virgin throughout her life, but God’s Word says that Mary did a sin offering of two turtledoves (Leviticus 14:22, Luke 2:22-24), that she knew she needed a Savior (Luke 1:46-47) and that there is only one mediator (1 Timothy 2:5). Mary remained a virgin until Joseph impregnated her and she had 4 boys and some daughters.
@@1InvisibleSongstress I’m not asking you to “convert” to another religion, but to become “complete” by receiving the Jewish Messiah. It’s about a relationship, not a religion. He has died for my sins and your sins on a tree.
14:09 is a Yiddish song Dona Dona which is not Hanukkah-themed. However, don't take me wrong, this is probably the most beautiful version of this song I have ever heard. Great job! :)
