- Project Quilting 16.1 Challenge Entry!
Welcome to my Project Quilting adventure! In this video, I show you the second fifteen minute session as I take you on the journey of creating a stunning mythological creature quilt. My creature is the al-Buraq which has a horse body, eagle's wings, human head, and a peacock tail. Witness the transformation from fabric scraps to a mesmerizing feathered masterpiece. I'll share my tips, tricks, and creative decisions along the way, so grab your sewing machine and get inspired!
Kim Lapacek hosts the Project Quilting Challenge where a theme is announced and a quilt has to be made in one only week. Hundreds of quilters participate! I invite you to sew along with me as I work on the applique border of this small challenge quilt. This video is the fourth part where I show step by step how I made this small art quilt for the Project Quilting challenge 16.1. I finish preparing the applique shapes for my Al-Buraq.

Nice to see a project comes together ❤️
It sure is exciting when you can start seeing the end in sight.
Great job with a very difficult subject!
Thanks, Mary! It is really challenging and rewarding at the same time!
It turned out beautiful and I am sure it is even more interesting with beads! ❤
I love the way the beads add dimension!
OMG, what a GREAT idea for a quilt (or for me, a much smaller slow-stitch piece)!
It’s a fun and rewarding project! There is some hand work in the next part of this series.
I like the larger bottom border. I enjoyed seeing you use those colored pencils on challenge quilt last year, and it was fun to see how they changed the look on this year's quilt too! The fabrics you chose and the color pencil enhancement brought your quilt to life! 👏❤️👍 I'm retired so I have the time, but somehow I know my personality of procrastinating would not mesh with a weekly challenge. 😂
I'm glad you like it! I am glad I used the pencils again.
Awesome video. Very interesting 👌
Thank you. Robert! I'm excited to see what happens next!
Your mythical quilt is a great way to start this year’s quilt challenges. The coloring pencils look fun to use - might have to get a set and try them!
Thanks Anne! It was a fun quilt to make. The pencils are a lot of fun!
