There are so many images of charts talking km/metres/feet but it isn't always easy to comprehend. THIS vid actually helps to understand it on another scale. It is very effective.
Usually the depth comparison videos wouldent give a good perspective of the depth, this one still keeps the wreck in Frame so it's easy to see the actual comparison.
It's the same thing, distance-wise. Just horizontal instead of vertical. So, in reality, it isn't THAT deep. Water pressure just sucks and makes it seem like it's on another planet.

I’m saying the difference in traveling 2.5 miles horizontally, vs 2.5 miles vertically feels completely different. Walking 2.5 miles is going to be a lot different and quicker than climbing or descending 2.5 miles.

That's a 10 kilometer deep crushing abyss in complete darkness. The whole Everest Mt could be sitting there in the dark, and you wouldn't see nothing, not even the top. Just pitch black darkness from top to bottom. Some people are scared of space and aliens.... I think the depths of the ocean are 100x scarier.
There is one from Nat Geo, I think, which shows you how deep the Atlantic really is, or at least how deep it is to the Titanic debris. It's mind boggling and humbling.

The young son of the Pakistani business man was very vocal about his fear of going along, their "humility" was evident and it's pretty clear no one felt invincible. They knew it would be dangerous but went anyway and perished for their bravery, there is nothing "mysterious " about it, in fact it was fairly straightforward.
I've stood at the Empire State rooftop. It is dizzying high. Eight times deep as that height... is incomprehensible. Then add the unimaginable force generated by the weight of the ocean. Pressure so great it compresses air till ignition in milliseconds. There is nothing of them to find. RIP

The fact that successful dives took place since the mid 80s makes the titan sub incident extremely unacceptable. There’s no reason that should’ve been able to happen. I’ve seen explanation videos of it and all I can think is “wow how did they not see that inevitable disaster coming” way too many obvious design flaws that were clear to an ordinary person like me never mind the engineers that must’ve been brain dead to believe it was safe.

@kemgreene8525 The Bismarck is about 3 miles deep in the Atlantic (a little over 15,000 feet). It is not deeper than the Samuel B Roberts which lies about 22,000 feet 4.2 miles deep in the Pacific. The USS Johnston is even deeper than the Bismarck at around 20,000 feet.
Actually it went down there 15 times, and that was only to the Titanic. It went that deep a further 5 or so times, to other parts of the ocean. Crazy when you think about it.

The water was so cold, it must have hurt. I washed my hands in very cold water on few occasions over the years during winter months, 6-8 degrees Celsius, basically the ambient temperature, and it always hurts! The ocean water was -2C in the Atlantic back then when Titanic sunk. It was below freezing because of salt content in the water. I can't even imagine being submerged in such cold water!
