A thing of nightmares, it is far too powerful to be left alive, yet no mortal man has the power to stop it.

    As someone who has built guitars and basses, with names on them other than my own, for years, often built to the designs of the client, sometimes the design is outside of our comfort zone. Aside from aesthetic preferences, and inconveniences, let's say, the only real design issue that I see as a flaw in the design is the headstock does not allow for straight string pulls from the nut to the tuning machine post following the headstock angle. I like a lot of aggressive, "pointy," shapes, but this design is a little much for my tastes. It does sound pretty good

    • @LowEndLobster

Hoping for a push/pull for active/passive, and just a two band or a three band if I can find it. It’s 9V powered. Any thoughts on what I could use? You have a lot of experience shopping for preamps.

      @Bassdriver 3 года назад +1

      @@noahbecker1082 I've tried numerous Warwicks - they all sounded dead as a doornail. I borrowed a Thumb BO 5 from my friend once - I needed a bass for a rehearsal and my cheap Yamaha BBG5S I had back then was at a luthier's shop for a nut replacement. I plugged the Thumb in - same settings on the amp as with the Yamaha, same room, same band - and it was GONE. Once others started playing, the bass got lost in the mix completely. I tried fiddling with the onboard preamp, amp settings etc, tried to turn the volume up - nothing helped, it just got muddy. Before you ask - yes, it had a fresh battery. Everybody hated the tone of this bass (or rather the lack thereof), myself included. I played $150 basses that could blow that thing out of the water.
      Warwicks have the worst bang per buck ratio of all the basses I've played and heard, full stop.

    Holy curse words!!! That tone makes me wanna cut myself and make burnt offerings under a full moon! That bass should be touring the world in a band like Cannibal Corpse! I love it!

    Wow, sounds much better than I ever imagined it would! Actually pretty darn articulate for a single humbucker with passive electronics.
    Maybe it should be more respected?
    …or not. 15 LBS?!? That’s ‘heavy’ man!
    You enjoyed playing it based on your giveaway giggle and no scrunched up frown face when you play something you absolutely abhor so it can’t be that bad. 😀👍🏻

    It looks like something i would play, doesnt sound the part for me, too much upper mids and not enough oomph. A tip for heavier basses like this is to use a fender weightless strap, it is made from an elastic material so it absorbs the shock and takes it off your shoulder

      @@LowEndLobster i tend to like my basses more on the heavier side so i had to find a way to get that weight off my shoulder. The fender weightless strap is so useful for that because it makes my heaviest instruments feel like its a walk in the park.
