The majority of Software Engineers don't understand the basic concept of supply and demand. If everyone decides to be a software engineer, that means SWEs are a dime a dozen. Not to mention the pressure from offshore hiring. It means even if you are a skilled SWE with a 3.X and hailing from a top 25 school, you are not guaranteed a job, simply because there are thousands of others who had the same idea as you. They should make econ 101 mandatory for every CS degree cause a lot of CS grads don't understand it
This girl got lucky in her career. That is what you need. Luck and chance. It happeneth to us all. If you don't get your chance, don't be upset at those that do. Be grateful though when you do.

I like your videos because your just open and honest about everything. Where as with other channels it seems to me like there's a lot of gate keeping especially in the Networking field.
I really thought he would choose talent, experience or someone who can solve a lot of leetcode but damn he choose those who can stay long and a collaborator. Really good insight specially this time where most employers want a rockstar programmer or have a very cool portfolio
Why would you say something that goes against the actual evidence? No one wants solos who only knows how to work by themselves, for themselves. I don't think I'd want to work with a silo of a human at work
Pretty generic video. No shit we all know levels fyi exists. Repeating basic life advice like “have EQ” is basic. “Treat work differently than a school assignment”. No shit Sherlock? Anyone with common sense would see this as bad advice.
Sure it is lucrative to be an AI/ML Engineer but honestly so was being into crypto when it was hyped too. Just use paid for APIs and call yourself an AI Engineer. Now you can enjoy that high salary as well!
Great content. I'm currently in a boot camp school called Flatiron School here in New York City. I signed up for the Software Engineer program because I want a career change. What I want to ask is, what are your thoughts on boot camp schools when it comes to coding? Unless you already have a video on boot camp school that I can check out
great video but it literally switched right after this was posted. now software development jobs are being posted every hour and ai/ml is only a few a day.the market is always changing. a better topic would be why, or what is leading the change in the market and where it might be heading next.
This advice is equally as generic. It is still about skill- now the market is changing you may need applicative research knowledge to be in this new market.
You're very welcome! I'm a new CS grad (September 2023) and couldn't find a junior role anywhere after hundreds of applications 🤦♂, so I'm starting at a "WITCH" company tomorrow lol@@PoojaDutt
What in the world is AI engineer? Engineering in tech is software development and scripting no matter the domain. AI is a deep and wide area of tech. You need experience and skills in math/statistics, python/javascript, data analysis, and other areas. Be an Architect, software development will end with AI capabilities soon and we won’t need as many developers.🚀

Talk about technologies and programming languages that u are using at microsoft.
Pooja, you are really inspiring
Do you think focusing on AI is a good time investment (already a SE) or continue following the established path and hone traditional skills?

Yes, I think her advice is bad. Because she knew too much
Copy cat non sense for making money,, like 5 ads to see this 😢
U can't give an advice about delusion, programming languages are just a delusion for humans, the real language is machine code or 0's and 1's.
