Okay hear me out... that ending to “it’s cold out here” is the best part of that song. These guys took it and expanded on it in a great way that fully opens up to its own original track by the end

As a performing/writing/recording musician, I’d be so flattered if someone looked up to my work as much as to make their own spin on it like this. But seriously, things like this happen constantly in popular music to varying degrees. Kinda interesting

After listening to the rest of the EP this is from, it's definitely intentional. While not malicious, they definitely used lyrics, melodies, and rhythms from Modern Baseball songs and The Front Bottoms songs on this EP. Most likely, they were using pre-existing music and influences to practice their songwriting skills. Obviously it's worked and helped them put out some really amazing original work like Best Buds. Still really awesome though to see a great band influenced by some of my favourite bands :)
