Thanks! I just wish I was as young and agile as you. But at 85 I sketch every day and work on watercolors. And of course watch your videos. I am supporting you on Patreon, too.
Interesting to see how many people are on their cell phones not paying attention to what is going on around them! Nice video……not sure I’m up to that yet, but you never know! Cold weather setting in here in central Pennsylvania!
The plus of living near/in the city! These were so lovely, i love sketching poeple in public but the only good places around here for me are restaurants, luckily people are often more likely to stand still there!
I try to sketch live people in cafes or parks all the time. It was fun to hear you express how people stand right in front of the person you are trying to draw, or, they stand right up and walk away as though they waited for you to start drawing and then decide to leave Also, you mentioned that you have to imagine who they were, because they have left but you still want to complete the sketch. People lie still on the beach! I've tried to draw there. thanks for the video.
Keep up making great videos like this Scottie! You make me interested in drawing again. It would be cool to be able to visit Sydney and do a live urban sketching session with you.
Seems like an entertaining experience and cool result! and you aced the camera set up. Love the nonchalant guy at 5:40 ish haha I’d love to try this on the next beautiful day, haven’t done in-person sketching yet. Thanks for the video :)
i've been watching your videos for the last week and practicing drawing from reference photos. really loved your methods of quick sketching! started sketching faster in general, but it still was not fast enough for sketching from life, as I learnt today on a sketch trip 😄 went home to watch this video, thank you, it was reeeeeeally helpful! will try to find spots where people move less 😁
Congratulations! I’ve never been able to nail this challenge. Maybe I’m gonna give it a try next time I run in a marathon race. Always so many people loafing around after the race. Great job!
Thank you so much for this inspiring video, Scottie! I'm gonna put this on my bucketlist this year eventhough I'm not going with 100 sketch a day haha 😁
Great tips! I sketch people in my local cafe but sometimes I worry they won’t like me doing it. Maybe because I’m somewhat closer to them. Have you had this experience?
Yea cool but I have the most trouble with drawing shirtless men(muscles/anatomy) with this freestyle method. So I was wondering if you could make a video, if you know what I mean please ❤️
What do you think of sketching people in public?✍🏼

Thank you so much 😀
I have done gesture sketches and it’s fun. Just a few lines as people walk past. I’m always hungry for time to do these things.
Love to see you work

That's great you went on a sketching trip! Yes a spot where they stand still is the best😉
Very cool and also a nice digital trip to Sydney, greetings from Germany.😃

🤗haha yes 100 was crazy exhausting!
Well done Scottie. I only managed 65 and some are whilst watching TV as it was cold and wet here in the UK!
Thanks Stella! That's amazing to do 65 when there's not many people around👍🏼. TV is a great idea 😊
I like your channel, you are doing useful things, I'm doing sketches for your videos, thank you that you have))
That's great!
great job! I still draw people from photos, never publicly..some day..lol
😁👍🏼 Thanks Darlene!
This just inspired me to get back out there and people sketch. Now that the weathers getting warmer, I have no excuse not to 😊
빨간옷 입은분 덕에 한참 웃었네요 🤣
한국인인 보이니 반갑네요
Great tips! I sketch people in my local cafe but sometimes I worry they won’t like me doing it. Maybe because I’m somewhat closer to them. Have you had this experience?
Yes definitely! Easier when you are sitting further away😊. I was wearing sun glasses but that might look strange in a cafe haha
Yea cool but I have the most trouble with drawing shirtless men(muscles/anatomy) with this freestyle method. So I was wondering if you could make a video, if you know what I mean please ❤️
😊 you could try a RUclipsr like @chommang as he does more anatomy before drawing 👍🏼 www.youtube.com/@Chommang
It is funny with your commentary, just waiting for someone or something to block you view. Great job!
haha yes that's right! I couldn't believe how often it happened😂. Thanks Susanne!
I'm so curious...what pen were you using?
Uniball Vision micro 👍🏼
