@@NotICON 33's and just getting into wheeling. I've had my fair share of camping and fishing trips, but want to get slightly more technical. Thanks for the tips.
You shouldn’t have any issues with any of these trails then. Sourgrass and Signal Peak will be the most difficult trails on the list, but they are absolutely doable.
Thank you for watching. The places that a Jeep will take you are amazing. Especially if you want to get away or see places that most people won’t be able to.
Thanks for the videos you post. Planning on a trip up to gold lake and was wondering if a stock Jeep would be able to get to Gold Lake via Sierra City. Not on the gold lake highway
If you are only planning on making it to the camping area then I would say that a stock Jeep would absolutely be fine. If you are planning on running the loop trail while you are out there then I would not suggest running it in a stock Jeep. A 2 door Rubicon with some experience might be fine, but the drop down into Snake Lake is steep and rocky.
Hi, I am getting a new ram quad cab standard bed 4x4 with the off-road package. Are those trails look a bit much for that or am I OK? The ground clearance isn't really that great. Thanks and like your video.
I would say to start off at something like Prairie City to get a feel for your Truck. Then maybe try the Poker Flat trail. Those are the 2 easiest places to start.
I would start at Prairie city and see what it’s capable of. I wouldn’t take it on any of the other trails before that. Maybe Saddleback to the fire lookout but I wouldn’t go further than that
Thank you for watching. Keep in mind that the trails in this video get progressively harder, and these are just my opinion. I know that the TRD is a capable rig off the lot. Sougrass and Signal Peak are both doable on 33s, but they are going to be a little more challenging. Maybe I will see you out on one of these trails.
I think it depends on the GC model and year. I would suggest starting off at Prairie City to get comfortable with your Jeep. After that I would go with a couple people to Poker Flat, we had a stock Trail Hawk GC make it through without any issues. Ive taken 2 WJs (1998-2004) with a slight lift and 33" tires through Sourgrass and Signal Peak without any issues.
Saddleback/Poker flat will have one tight spot, but if you are careful you should make it. Sourgrass won’t have any issues with a full size. Signal Peak is a little narrower and will likely give you issues in a few spots since there are some tight areas and sharp turns.
I think an F-150 would be fine on most of the trails stock, as long as its a 4x4. The only trails that I would say require a lift and bigger tires are Sourgrass and Signal Peak.
@@NotICON i just picked up a 2021 tacoma last week, 3rd 4x4 off road... it looks like i'll need some mods to do these trails, along with some experience, or at least an experienced buddy (like you said)... especially for more challenging parts... nice video. thanks for posting.

I think Saddle back mountain to Poker Flat would be your best bet. It’s not really all that difficult. The creek crossing is going to be the most difficult part.
I think all would be good for you. Signal Peak will be the most difficult though, and there are some really tight squeezes and turns through trees when you get closer to the top. That will probably be your biggest issue
I’m not really sure how capable the outback is, but I know a stock Jeep XJ can do the Poker Flat trail. If you are going to be able to do one, then I would say start there, but don’t go by yourself.
