I think you misinterpret Vince's presence there - he was in regular attendance at these shows - though I never saw him perform on one. I think he was just there to show his respect for all those great entertainers. A few other current country folks showed up - I saw Hal Ketchum a couple of times and Brad Paisley. I really think they just wanted to hang out with the legends - and show their respect.

No problems I have a lot of these CFR videos, like Johnny Russell said in the very first one of these recorded back in 1997 that they grew up in the golden age of country music, bit like that George Jones song "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes" because all of the country music from this era and these people was the very best of country music!

I had the good fortune, and honor to record Ernie's last two albums at my studio and I played most of the instruments on those projects ... plus I got to know Ernie very well during that time as I took a shift as a DJ on one the radio stations he owned, and I played guitar with him on several live performances, including the Grand ole Opry. He really was a unique Jem of a man. They just don't make 'em like Ernie any more. Ernie, I miss ya my friend.

Earnie did the right thing. That’s old school marriage vows (for better or worse, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, love honor & obey, etc.) . That makes him more of a man than this younger generation can brag about. I love this song. Number 1 most country played artist in Europe that’s magnificent. In the Alabama country music hall of fame also is great. Oh I’m quite sure he’s in the h.o.f. in Nashville Tennessee
