For people who sat for board exams through CBSE and are thinking of applying through NIOS, don't because in the JEE ADVANCED 2024 Information Brochure it is clearly mentioned (in maybe page 41 or 42) that marksheet of any other board other than the one you gave in class 12 is not acceptable for improvement. So, for people scoring less than 70% in CBSE boards, I would suggest you take a drop and also improvement next year. The exam will be held in March with other 12th standard students. You can also choose multiple subjects if you give improvement next year. If your score is in between 70-74.9% you can try for improvement this year, but only for 1 subject. For better information check the CBSE FAQ section and JEE ADVANCED Information Brochure.
By your logic even state board students aren't eligible for JEE Advanced. Please do not mislead students.

Applying using marksheet of NIOS won't work if you have been part of any other board before. In JEE Advance requirements it mentions that marksheet of any board after you have passed senior secondary education (which is class 12 in this case) is not valid unless it is the board which you passed from.
That means if you have passed class 12 from CBSE then you have to attach a marksheet from CBSE, no other marksheet will be valid.

today i am going To tell you about my story ::;::::::: mere class 10 me 90% aayi and kl result aaaya and i have got 77.6 in class 12 .... i have cleared jee mains by 96 percentile ...............me ye soch rha hu ki me improvement exam du kyuki jo mere kuch dost h unki 88% and 90% aayi h me thoda jeaolus hu unse ... beacuse they were not good as me but how they have got that much marks i really donot know ...so can anycome pls tell me what should i do ???
Don't do it. Don't take an year off. It would amount to nothing even if you score 99 in 12th. 77 is more than enough.
