In a year or so when they do another episode of GMM animated, they’re gonna use Rhett and Link trying to speak Greek but the animation is gonna be two wizard apprentices trying to summon an eldritch demon lmao
Just have it on screen in a lower third with it shown in Greek (or whatever language they do next) and English in small underneath. It would make this bit so much more entertaining.
I thought it was Chupie, who is a tik tok famous Lykoi that I had the pleasure of meeting in real life. He was so soft and super friendly. He also loves bread.
Translating Greek sayings to English word for word is actually a running joke in Greece, with memes, social media pages dedicated to that etc. Glad to see GMM being a part of this, this is too good!
@@natashiaj1046 Link pronounces the word gyros pretty accurately (not when he says "heroes"), even though what they ate was not greek style gyros. He also pronounced the door saying quite well. And Rhett did a good job on the very last try of the last phrase 😅
"NaAAAaaa... mi-ri-so-ta... neyeeeyaicha mou. I think I am saying that exactly the way that you're supposed to" - Rhett McLaughlin 🤣🤣🤣 To be fair: The "Na miriso ta" part was Rhett's overall best attempt and Link's was indeed "patini"!
"Mittens" appears to be a Lykoi, aka a werewolf cat. It's a newish breed of cat from a breeder in Tennessee. As cats go, Mittens is pretty normal looking for a Lykoi. There's a reason they're sometimes called werewolf cats.
@@frfras7 Well, yeah, I was going to say that, but I probably still wouldn't know how to say them in actual Greek, they've changed a bit when we borrowed them.
@@lonewandererfo3 because Greek language, and especially the etymology of a great amount of words we use in our everyday lives, should be taught to everyone...otherwise it's not worth trying to read in Greek.
i would be so happy just to see Rhett and Link react to babies who don’t want to touch grass. definitely seems like a ‘Daily Dose of Internet’ thing, which i also want to see them react to haha
Great job guys!!! I know our language makes no sense whatsoever, but you kinda got the concept!!! Also the pronunciation was not that bad...keep up the great work, and greetings from the Greek Mythical Beasts!!! 😁
Mittens the cat is a lykoi and they are rare and oddly beautiful. They have no undercoat and they periodically lose their hair and it grows elsewhere on them. They are also called werewolf cats because of their dark markings on their face makes them look like werewolves.
Oh and babies and grass.....yep my 19 year old son did this with grass and sand. To be fair given the chance he would do it now also as he hates sand and grass.
I'm gonna start using "Go see if the boats are moving" to get people to go away or to announce my departure. I live in northeastern Ohio at least an hour south of Lake Erie.
Ive outlived two of my cats sadly, and neither of them lost a piece of their tail. Kinda makes me wonder what these tik tokers are doing to their cats.
I had two. Both had an injury to their tail. Maybe because the longest I have gone without a cat was 4 years in the military. I'm 57. One was in 1984, the second in 2002.
Delighted to see how many people just happen to know about that cool breed of cat and are sharing in the comments! Share the knowledge-I know I was curious!
I don't know if i am the only one but i just realized by watching an old gmm video that Link has the same haircut like by far back in the day but now he styles them all back!Pufffff whaaaaaat!but one thing changed nobody complains no more 🤣
GDI link you were Not closer on the last one, you said "this is something someone Would do" but when scoring came around you said "I said a closer answer, saying it was something people don't want to even do"
“If two doors and one window close, you lie down and go to sleep” absolute poetry
I need this in a t-shirt 😂
yes😄
I think the saying is When life closes all the doors God opens a window. Or something like that.
When one door closes and another opens, your home is haunted
Proverbvially.
Rhett speaking in Greek sounded like he was attempting Japanese in a Scandinavian accent… like anime meets yodeler
In a year or so when they do another episode of GMM animated, they’re gonna use Rhett and Link trying to speak Greek but the animation is gonna be two wizard apprentices trying to summon an eldritch demon lmao
and then what they get is a Greek grandma that gives them baklava
I'd love if they put the phrases they're trying to say on screen as they attempt it, because I have NO clue what's going on with their pronunciation 😂
*I was thinkin' the same...*
I was gonna come and comment the same thing!! and here you are!!
But they should leave it in Greek so you still had no clue
So if it wrote Piasto avgo kai koureuto...you would understand something better? 🤣
Just have it on screen in a lower third with it shown in Greek (or whatever language they do next) and English in small underneath. It would make this bit so much more entertaining.
Rhett reads these as if they're a Japanese-Spanish fusion...
Link reads these as if they're Klingon...
the last one sounded like a mantra...
Very accurate
That is a Lykoi (a.k.a. "Werewolf Cat"). A breed of cat known for its specific look, and from what I've heard they're very social and caring cats.
I thought it was Chupie, who is a tik tok famous Lykoi that I had the pleasure of meeting in real life. He was so soft and super friendly. He also loves bread.

This video is a gem for us Greeks and Cypriots, loved it lmao
Hi from Cyprus
That's so true 😂
"When God closes a door, He opens a window" is apparently a phrase like what Link was thinking
I was wondering that no one seemed to recognize that phrase. I guess it's not as common as I thought.
I think it's very southern
You should get native speakers to say these phrases after they try and pronounce them 😂
i'm greek and this was so funny to watch! a lot of our phrases don't translate to english in ways that make sense lol
how did they do with the pronunciation xD
The mythology was always my favorite
Haha I'm Greek too and really enjoyed this episode!

As a Greek Cypriot this was my favorite video of all time from you guys and I couldn't stop laughing!
The international stuff is really funny. This should be a regular thing- so many languages and countries to explore!
I enjoy their deductive reasoning cause they're pretty damn smart

Δεν είναι φουλ αστείο;; 😂😂
Haha exactly
Dude, we use literal translations of some of those in (parts of) Argentina
I cringed hearing them pronounce
Χαχαχ κάηκα εντελώς στο by devil's mother
As a Greek I am absolutely hysterical at this, thanks for making my day😂💛
I wish they landed on Ready, Pet, Go more, or somehow make a whole GMMore game of it. I want my cat picked 😂
if you're curious - pretty sure that's a lykoi cat. they have no undercoat, hence the special appearance!
Lycan cat . Werewolf cat
I think so too. they are an interesting breed.
They are so cute
I bet anyone who was upset about how they did or didn't pronounce gyro in the main episode is having a great time with this episode.😆
Yep

As someone whos mother tongue is Greek, this was one of the funniest episodes ever. Them attempting to speak Greek is amazing!
"Grab an egg and shave it" reminds me of something my dad says "catch a fart and paint it purple" 😝
the weird looking cat is called a Lykoi. also known as a werewolf cat. 🙂
I was going to say, Mittens is a lykoi! Beautiful little werewolf 😍
They need someone who speaks that language to say it after they've tried so we can see just how much they failed. LOL
I wished for a Greek related episode and I got it! I laughed hard when reading Greek :D Hope Greece makes it in international food episodes
5:35 Rhett's saying it like he thinks it's Swedish 🤣🤣🤣
I've been waiting for a Greek themed video by you guys for years!! Good job! That was very funny for us Greeks!!😂
My Yiayia would be mortified 😂
Im shocked they didn't do "Tha Fas Ksilo"... The classic saying of all Greek mothers. That would have thrown them for a loop!
Have they already done a Hindi version of this? If not, they definitely should!
Haha! I can already imagine, that would be hilarious 😂
Rhett and Link quoting the entire chorus to Angels Among Us took me right back to middle school!

The 8:20 part made me laugh so much 😂
Οταν άκουσα το translation για το " μου έπριξε τα αρχίδια" γέλασα τόσο πολύ 😂
"Να μυρίσω τα νύχια μου" from Rhett was probably the best attempt to pronouns these phrases
as a greek, this was hilarious
The lyrics to Angels Among Us hit me hard. Used to listen to that song as a kid as I went to bed ❤
The cat from the beginning is supposed to look like that. It is called a wolf cat. It's a genetic mutation, that has been bred into an actual breed.
Thanks for explaining. I'm a cat person and I've never seen or heard of this breed. I Googled it to get more info on it so now I want one!
I’m vibing on Rhett’s shirt today!!! It’s so summer-y even though it’s way past fall

It's a computer joke. When a door closes, a WindowS opens.
This episode took so many turns I got dizzy 🤣🤣🤣
This will go viral in Greece!!

If you have that many doors and windows closing and opening, your house is probably haunted.
Or the house itself is alive. 🤷🏻♀️

The bit of info about cats losing part of their tail has stuck with me the since I watched this 4 days ago and I cannot stop thinking about it…
Why have so few people commented about this?! I just can't believe that it's true. That one cat must have had a very serious problem.
My baby was terrified of touching grass with bare feet 🤣
For some reason, when they read some of the phrases in Greek it gave me strong, "Don't read the mysterious Latin!" in a horror movie vibes, lol!
"No! You must not read from the book!"
Loved it! You should have the "correct" pronunciation from google translate as well to see how close you were
That cat breed is a Lykoi lol also know as “werewolf cats”. They will look nearly like a hairless cat and then they will look like a tiny werewolf.
8:25 i can’t stop laughing at this
More effort was made to speak Greek in this than the entire Greek Cypriot population (of my gen) in London LOL
Them trying to speak Greek is HILARIOUS 😂😂😂
"Την μάνα" 😂🤣😂😏
Link definitely nailed the "έφαγα πόρτα" phrase
ΤΑ ΑΡΧΙΔΙΑ 😂🤣😂🤣😂
