As a university lecturer for over 20 years I think we will be going back to hand written assignments under exam conditions in order to avoid plagiarism. Progress indeed.
since there is the new update in turnitin, I aske my self what exactly can be detected produced on chat gbt by turnitin. Example: I write a text (500 words) in a beautiful writing style by myself, then I write another text by myself but not beautiful. Cause the second one is not beautiful I copy the text into chat gbt and I give the command to rewrite the second text in the same writing style as the first one. Could that second text now be plagiarised?
I can't say for sure but you can definitely test and see what kind of results you get. If you ask ChatGPT to mirror your writing style, then you will have a much higher chance of going through AI detection.
Our goal was to show you why using ChatGPT for academic paper writing is risky and to present you with an alternative tool you could use if you needed human writing help.
@@taipizzalord4463 The tool is definitely in beta and is not ready for academic consultation, but the logic behind it definitely makes sense. TurnItIn has also created its own AI detection tool. The key takeaway here is to do as you are: use it as a pointer and idea generator, but in no case should you ever blatantly copy and paste, considering how suspicious professors and teachers are at this point. Find the right balance, and worse case scenario, if your professor has doubts, you can always explain your work in person to remove any doubts about your actual competence in the field.
I mean is it really smart to listen to the sorce thats competing with chatgpt also Ive tested gptzero on some of the stuff that ive ai generated and its come up as entirly written by human if you give it a firm outline and use it as a tool then you should be fine
If you’ve decided to use an alternative help with writing - feel free to reach us out: bit.ly/Paper24YT
Naw, just use GPT4 and prompts to include 'burstiness' & 'perplexity ' BOOM!
This video was made before ChatGPT-4 came out. Also, the burstiness and complexity strategy isn't a fullproof strategy.

The best way to use ChatGPT is to have it as a supplementary tool to add on to your own ideas.
