Kevin's (Macaulay Culkin) booby traps work perfectly against the bungling home invaders.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Home Alone is the highly successful and beloved family comedy about a young boy named Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) who is accidentally left behind when his family takes off for a vacation in France over the holiday season. Once he realizes they've left him "home alone," he learns to fend for himself and, eventually has to protect his house against two bumbling burglars (Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern) who are planning to rob every house in Kevin's suburban Chicago neighborhood. Though the film's slapstick ending may be somewhat violent, Culkin's charming presence helped the film become one of the most successful ever at the time of its release.

i went to the vso home alone almost a week ago and it was awesome. we got to see not just the music, but the whole movie and the musicians warming up before playing for us. I also saw the music playing for each scene and no one was hushed by anyone else when we were laughing out loud at some scenes. It was total heaven for us.

Oh man, I love the booby traps, it's amazing how a kid Kevin's age comes up with all these things, one smart cookie that is for sure.
At 0:38, there’s a subtle musical cue right as the “lightbulb” trap appears on screen, to draw our attention to it. Just a little nod to John Williams’ prowess as a composer.
Director: “So what is Marvin gonna step on when he’s going up the stairs?”
Producer: “How about a lego piece?”
Director: “WE ARE NOT SAVAGES, YOU MONSTER!! Just use a nail.”

But anyways, how the heck did that doorknob get hot as soon as Kevin put the branding iron on the door? Won't that set the door and the whole house on fire or something like that?
@@calebsawyer0719 That doorknob is made out of metal that is highly conductible so it's easy for it to get it hot pretty quickly. By the way, it would take a lot to set the door on fire. At best, the wood would just gets heated. The only way for it to be on fire is for open flame to be applied to achieve that.
